Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

  • Blackberry Smokes again

by Graybear57 on 2/24/14The Ritz (formerly known as Disco Rodeo) - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This band is a fusion of classic rock sounds with a clear southern influence. You will get a taste of Allman Brothers and Black Crows with Molly Hatchet and Skynrd tosses in . But it goes even deeper with Pink Floyd drifts. They bring some amazing passion and the love of their crazy loyal fans is very evident at the shows. Nothing better than folks who know the words. If you can see them do so and I promise you will find a way to see them again.

  • Should be all over the radio

I saw them last year at the Lincoln theater and now at the ritz .they absolutely keep the energy going all through their songs.I would like the ritz to upgrade a little better beer bartenders cleaner bathrooms etc.I saw five finger death punch there it was too hot and the fans were shut off.

  • GO SEE BLACKBERRY SMOKE!!!!

by Fatfred on 2/24/14The Ritz (formerly known as Disco Rodeo) - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

5 stars is not enough to rate this show. They played for over 2 hours with no breaks and we couldnt stop dancing and singing the whole time. Cant wait until the next show. Bough the DVD at the concert and played it everyday since. Do yourself and your friends a favor and go see BBS live. Delta Saints opened the show and did well also.

  • Blackberry Smoke - Baptismal

by EddieGEE on 2/19/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I have been waiting for over 25 years for this band. I grew up under the influences of some of the greatest Southern bands ever, Allman Bros, Lyrnrd Skynrd, Little Feat, Charlie Daniels. In NYC where I was born and raised, these bands ruled. There hasn't been a revival of this style in a very long time. These boys have brought back the smooth, soulful, boogie that made Southern Rock the focus of the music world in the mid 70's. In terms of a musical experience, this is a Baptismal for me, and Blackberry Smoke has rejuvenated my Faith. Thank you for coming to Portland Maine. My band Stompin' Ground covers Blackberry Smoke and we are energized by the songs every time we play. Long may you ride brothers!

The show was great. The staff at Irving Plaza were super friendly and helpful. Blackberry Smoke put on a great show, played everything perfectly. The meet and greet was also great. All of the band members were genuinely happy to meet us. Well worth the money and 6 hour trip to be there.

  • Where There Is Fire There Is Blackberry Smoke!

by stealer on 2/18/14Irving Plaza Powered By Klipsch Audio - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

One of the most straight ahead rock n roll bands that have come along since the likes of Petty and the Black Crowes. The band played an incredible set, playing all the gems from "Little Piece of Dixie" and "Whippoorwill". They play the type of music that keeps you wanting to come back for more. They don't bore you with long extended jams and just play the songs the way we have grown to love them!

  • Blackberry Smoke was amazing (again)

by CaptnWoodstock on 2/17/14Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was absolutely amazing. Second time I have seem BB Smoke at the TLA and second time was a charm. First show was good last year, but this show was better, the guitars sang, the bass lines were thumping, the keys were rythymic and the drums kept you grooving. If you get the chance to catch these guys when they are still playing small places you will not be disappointed. Soon they will be selling out arenas and that personal feel will be gone (sadly). Don't let the country tag fool you, if you enjoy jam bands you will love these guys.

  • Great show, venue was Ok
