Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

  • Great Show!

by Tim R on 3/11/25Prairie Home Alliance Theater - PeoriaRating: 5 out of 5

The band was having a blast in Peoria! All of the songs were performed so well and it was just a lot of fun! Also, the VIP experience was seamless and AJ was a great host! Well worth the money! The only ding I would give is the confusing ticketing process. They said to pickup tickets at will call, but the box office did not open until an hour-and-a-half before the show. Plus, the ushers and ticket staff at the box office didn't know much about what was going on with the VIP tickets (myself and several other VIP holders were arguing with the staff about getting our tickets). They needed a cleaner process to give us our tickets (like allowing us to obtain them on our phone). This is no fault of the band or their crew, however. Overall great concert though! I highly recommend Blackberry smoke!

From the first note the band and crowd were both on fire! The whole evening was a religious musical experience with Blackberry Smoke. Can’t remember a show where the crowd and band were on the same wavelength. Every time I see Blackberry Smoke the shows just keep getting better and better. Love this band and my brothers and sisters! 🌞❤️

  • It was a great first time experience.

    by Rockin'Rivera on 1/20/25Crown Theatre - FayettevilleRating: 5 out of 5

I had the pleasure of seeing Blackberry Smoke live for the first time, and what an incredible experience it was! From the very first song, their infectious energy and lively rhythms had the entire crowd moving. The band has such a natural ability to blend Southern rock, blues, and country into a sound that's both fun and irresistibly engaging. Their music is filled with upbeat grooves and infectious hooks that make you want to get up and dance. The band's chemistry on stage is amazing – they clearly enjoy playing together, and that joy spills over into their performance. The rhythm section, in particular, is tight and powerful, driving the sound forward with every beat. The way they shift from high-energy rockers to laid-back, soulful tunes shows their versatility, keeping the show dynamic and full of surprises. For someone like me who was hearing their music for the first time, it was impossible not to get swept up in the fun. The crowd was absolutely loving it, and by the end of the show, I was a full-fledged fan. Blackberry Smoke delivers a show that’s not just about great music, but about pure, unbridled fun. I can't wait to see them again!

  • Wonderful

by Mick Bowen on 1/10/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Not sure why Macon City Auditorium gets a lot of negative reviews. I thought it was a great Music Hall. I don’t need chandeliers and Oriental Rugs. I need a seat that if a big hug sits in front of me, I can still see over his head. Acoustics were good, big bathroom… The place is absolutely perfect for a good night of rock and roll. Blackberry Smoke was spot on and Robert Jon was a pure treat!

Great concert, Robert Jon and the wreck, did a great opening act. Blackberry Smoke was awesome. We Really enjoyed the performance. What a great night also bringing in the New Year. You definitely get your dollars worth at a BBS concert. Charlie Star can play the hell out of a guitar. 100% recommend going to a Blackberry Smoke concert. Looking forward to seeing them again.
