  • First Comic-con

by Big chief on 10/12/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great experience all the people were nice and honest there were awesome celebrities I got to meet and get autographs from I got to buy all sorts of pictures and collectibles, I got to play and enjoy my first video game tournament (even tho I was nervous and did Terrible) it did not in any way take away from the experience! I’m a heavy set fellow but I’ll tell you what I could not stop moving and looking at everything it was amazing I loved it even got 2 mystery boxes so even when I got home it was still as if my day at the event was still going. great start and a great end! Please do again next year I will come more prepared and get the full 3 day pass! 🤙🏽🤙🏽

  • Not what I expected

by Gawain on 10/12/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

I have been to many ComicCons over the years. I understand we are coming back from a pandemic and rebuilding social gatherings. I thought this ComicCon needed more Comic Artists and fewer vendors that had nothing to do with Graphic Arts.

  • Best Comic Con in S.A.

  • Not what I have come to be used to

I went to the same con in 2019 and it was amazing! I was expecting the same atmosphere when I went this time. It was nothing similar. There were only a handful of panels scheduled through out the day and the panel location was in the main room so you could honestly hear it wherever you were. There were not half as many vendors or guests as there has been the other time I went. One of the guests I had bought my ticket to see didn't get to her table the entire five hours I was there so I decided to leave due to lack of things to do and frustration.

  • Disappointing

by Allonthewayhome on 10/12/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 2 out of 5

Way small than I expected, have been to the ones years past and felt they were huge and organized, can not say the same about Big Texas Comic Con. It was okay just overall disappointing!

  • I had a good time. I wish I would have known the panel times

by mega3p on 10/12/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

I bought tickets and photo ops for Holly Marie Combs. So I spent over 300 dollars and missed out on the panel I would have liked to see. Plus where were the comics. Hardly any to chose from. Most dealers had dollar comics on the floor, in bad shape and what wasn't was way over priced. Over all not sure I would go again. Not without better information.

  • Ok but not great!

Here are some things I noticed this Comic-Con was lacking in compared to others I’ve visited. (I purchased the $200 Express Pass). 1: There were a lot more vendors last year. More comics, more toys, more tshirts, more everything. This year, the center looked like it had lots of room to spare. 2: The express pass wasn’t honored the first day and no one was making sure it was. I walked up to a line to get an autograph and showed my badge, I was told to wait behind four people who were in line and they all had 3 day passes. 3: The line to get a signature was to close to the celebrity/artist. People standing in the snake line to get an autograph could look over the people’s shoulder directly in front of the table. If Covid was an issue, which plenty of people were walking around without their mask (not cosplayers). Maybe next time, push the snake line back a few feet to give the celebrity some space, don’t want to make it seem like we’re bum rushing them. 4: The cost of the express pass didn’t seem to be worth it. It was 140 more than a three day pass. I got a sticker ($5 sold at door), badge ($5 sold at door), poster ($5 I believe at door), and a shirt. I’d say $61 for three day pass, $20 for everything else = about $80. 5: It was weird that the volunteers had a place to rest, just outside the entrance of the hall floor (which was almost always empty). Could have been a great selling point for express pass members. A place to rest. Visiting customers who rest are more likely to make a purchase than a volunteer who got in for free. 6: I took a photo with a celebrity and was the only person in line (Friday). The photographer took my photo, looked at his camera and said ok we’re good. My son wasn’t looking at the camera. Could have brought up a reshoot but instead just put his camera down and the celebrity left. The customer is their for the experience, and if they have a bad one what’s to say they will return or if they’ll talk others out of going. 7: I liked that there was food being offered on the floor and people didn’t have to leave the center to eat. 8: There wasn’t an express pass entry. I went outside to get a taco and walked right back into the floor. This is a major security issue. I have no ill will towards anyone but someone who doesn’t agree with the event, a point of view by a celebrity/artist, or just another customer. All in all it was ok. There is room for improvement for next years event. Oh, someone did reach out to me to ask what size shirt I needed, so that was a plus.

  • Flawlessly simple

by Ethan Ruiz on 10/11/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

Got a 3 day pass to comic con and it took literally less than 2 minutes to find the email, and add it to my apple wallet. I got bag checked, checked in, and was handed my passcard with no issues. The event was great and check in process took less than 5 minutes. The event was AMAZING. Definitely making it a yearly trip.

  • Great and Small

by Irishspongebob94 on 10/11/21Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 4 out of 5

When I go to a comic con, the big factors for me are guest appearances, vendors, and amenities. The con was great in the fact that it had a good amount of well known celebrities and artists. However, the vendors seem to be very similar, selling Funko pops and toys. There were a handful that stood out with Legos, handmade headbands, comics, light sabers, and some weaponry. I was hoping for there to be a vendor selling dice sets. All in all, I’d go back again next year as long as they continue to get great guests. I’d love to see some bigger names such as Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Sean Bean. I look forward to next year’s con!

A great event! I wasn't sure about this con as it was the first time for it, but I have to say, it was excellent!! Great venue! Great cosplay contest! Got our pictures with Foley and Nash! The best part was all of the excellent vendors!!! Great products! Very nice! I hope to be there again next year!

Thought it was going to be better for being my first experience, expected so much more

  • Fun event, but not enough to justify the price

by Ben on 9/25/19Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

I paid about 45 dollars for a ticket but I've been to similar cons that charged half that. Good vendors, food, cosplayers, etc but for the price I paid I was hoping for something more than "good"

  • Excellent Time

by Abi on 9/25/19Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

I went with my Husband and our baby girl. We had an absolute blast! The vendors were nice people with reasonably priced items. The guest stars were amazing, although some were a bit late. We went in thinking we wouldn’t get much and ended up getting a mineral, artwork, fan content, and posters!

  • Ok but overpriced

    by C. B. on 9/25/19Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 2 out of 5

The con was fine for a first year but the cost of the tickets was not justified by the experience. They charged the same as most established cons without anywhere near to same amount of vendors or panels.

  • It was just ok

by Lily on 9/24/19Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

I have been to about 8 cons in different places and this one had the least participation I've ever seen. There were plenty of good celebrities so I don't get why there was such poor attendance. Hope they do better in the future getting people to come.

  • to Expensive

by Tim on 9/24/19Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - San AntonioRating: 1 out of 5

i paid $100 for 2 adults and there was nothing special about the event. few vendors and one big name actor. very boring to go to for 50 bucks a head
