We were able to see some great costumes and we had fun catching glimpses of celebrities 🩷! The things that detracted from the experience were the line was unnecessarily long, there was lack of direction/ signage to show people the end of the line/ and too many people, not enough space. They also could have had way more food/ drinks vendors and places to sit. Overall a good time, just way too small for the event
Awesome time as always! Can’t wait for next year! Cool merch, people, celebs all of it
It was a wonderful, crazy busy Saturday when I was there. It was wonderful to see the celebrities that I wanted to see.. having a chance to chitchat with them laugh with them get hugs selfies The biggest problem was having the photo up with Charlie on him. It was announced to get into 932 and as I was walking to the back of line 32 apparently it was announced to actually be in line 33 and so there were a whole bunch of very upset women because I was first in line for line 32 and they did not want me cutting in front of them for line33 that other than it being too hot not enough places to sit. It was an experience that I will never forget. 33 that other than it being too hot not enough places to sit. It was a experience that I will never forget.
Needs better control of Lines for Photo Opps was just a lump of people waiting and not knowing what to do. was hard to walk through if just walking through. a second Snack shop would be great especially when you just want some chips to eat.
There were too many people and it was way over crowded. They need a much larger space for next year. The line to get went outside the building for hours! The actual show was awesome but it was too crowded for total enjoyment.
I guess the organizers use the phrase ‘Big Texas’ loosely. It wasn’t big at all and I feel the event was overpriced.
The costumes were awesome, and I enjoyed talking to other people, but not really that impressive of an event. The food was the garbage, my nephews described it as "worse than school food". They had cold burgers that were sitting out for hours. They should have had food vendors show up. There were no real activities besides buying stuff. I thought there would be more to Comiccon than just the vendor booths. I doubt I would go again.
I attended the Big Texas Comicon this past weekend. First and foremost the website was not very well organized or well made in my opinion. It appeared to be pieced together by a series of links leading you to other landing pages that were not visually appealing nor were they very functional. Also the list of vendors, events and indivual sessions were not easy to get to if at all. I reached out with questions and never got a response back, via the path provided on the website. Secondly, the show itself had a look and feel of walking into a large warehouse with no walls or partitions. The lines to get in were long and not well thought out in terms of logistics, everyone was just jammed together in rows in a big room awaiting to be let in. Even the lines for autograph and photo sessions were set up to where the only people given any kind of priority were the VIP pass individuals. The other line consisted of those that prepaid and those who were just walking up to pay on demand. At one point a volunteer mentioned that even though I prepaid for an autograph the celebrity could opt to stop signing at any time. They did not appear to have autograph or photo sessions it was just first come first serve. Definitely a lot of room for improvement!
Had a great time, lot more vendors this year. Still would like to see more comicbook vendors but overall great convention. The best I've seen in the past 5 years.
Besides the celebrities' photo ops and autographs, the event was very small, like REALLY small, especially for the kind of crowd it brought, the line to get in was very long and it lasted hours and when you walked in the room you felt it was not worth the wait... I think most people went for the celebrities which is fine, but please if you going to keep doing it, make it as big as you can.
We had a good time but had some bad experiences that ruined the trip. We stood in a guest autograph line for a while and then it was cutoff for the artist to take a break. (Which is understandable. So, we went to eat and then went right back from there to the line and waited then was told they weren't taking any more for the day for that artist. Each time the line was cutoff a few people ahead of us.
This was my first Comicon - so I had zero expectations. My 9 year old wanted to go check out Pokemon stuff. We arrived by Via bus (highly recommend) a little before 11 am. The line to check in was beyond unacceptable. As an event planner - registration and security check was woefully understaffed. It seemed to get better as we were there longer, but it is very hard to explain to a child - of any age - why the wait was so long. Overall, everyone was very kind and cordial. The photo ops were fun. I purchased a vintage Japanese short jacket (kimono - type) which surprised me, since I didn't think there might be anything I could purchase. I don't know if we will attend again as we are both a little sensitive to noise and crowds, but overall, we had a good time.
The con this year was honestly nothing but cons.. Way too packed into one area. You could barely get through the aisles. Autograph areas were packed and they were already saying “there’s no guarantee they will get to you” at noon.. if you want autographs from more than two high level celebrity guests be prepared to spend your whole day just waiting in lines.
This is one of the best con I love because it's in October!!!
The line up was great ‼️our second year . But with the same problems. While in the building cell service was terrible. I couldn’t call or text my family inside also to find them😡 additionally the taped waiting line way to narrow 🤬 i and everyone else could not stand within the lines with being each other face in the adjacent lines
Upon arrival the first day they didn't have my VIP info available in their system, so it took a long time for them to verify my VIP status for me to get my VIP package. Also, at other ComiCon's when you purchase a VIP pass you get VIP line access for photos and autographs. At this Comicon there were VIP lines for autographs, but not for photos. The photo lines were disorganized. Also, they were 20 minutes late calling to start to line up for Sting. Based upon these issues I don't plan to attend the Big Texas ComiCon again.
This was my first time at Big Texas Comic Con, and it did not disappoint. I got to meet actors from Cobra Kai whom I had never met before. I was really impressed with the wide range of talent and artworks vendors that were present at the event. Can’t wait for next year. Will see what it holds.
It was very fun and lots of vendors and saw alot of families enjoying each other and met up with some old friends and was able to take some cool photos of cool cosplayers
It’s was good had a lot of fun, but it should be bigger not just 1 hall but add more halls for more space. Hope next year the Convention Center uses all 4 halls. Also I would love to have the map of the convention before hand handed. Crowd control a little more improvements, wasn’t that bad. Overall had good time for my first comic con in the US.
