About

Fans in search of toe-tapping, brass-honking, high-energy swing revival need look no further than Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The slick, stylish group have always been as tight as a drum on record, but their live performances are even more impressive, inciting furious dancing among veteran and novice swing dancers alike. Dressed to the nines in their trademark zoot suits and brandishing upbeat favorites like "Go Daddy-O" and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit," Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will take the stage with more energy than ever on their upcoming tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was formed in Southern California in 1989 by frontman Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren. After self-releasing their eponymous debut album in 1994, the band got their big break when their songs "Go-Daddy-O," "Mr. Pinstripe Suit," and "You & Me & The Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)" were featured in the 1996 cult film classic Swingers. The popularity boost that followed landed them a deal with Capitol Records, resulting in a string of swinging albums that included Americana Deluxe (1998) and Save My Soul (2003). In addition to performing in the 1999 Super Bowl half-time show, the band has shared the stage with some of the world's leading symphony orchestras, including the LA Phil and the San Francisco Symphony. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy fans have plenty to look forward to as the boys hit the road for another electric round of shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"These guys are one of the slickest units touring today. They deliver to goods every night and watching the interaction on stage is really the cherry on top. Everything a professional touring band should be."

"...if you like big band music you will never see better players and/or performers! Truly amazing players and Scott the lead singer was spot on as always!"

"As good as the recordings are, they are even better live! The lead singer, Scotty, has a unique voice, great style, and a charming attitude. The band was masterful and tight."

Great but wish they played a longer set

by bikemanfriedman on 6/24/23The Joy Theater - New Orleans

First time seeing BBVD and really enjoyed the show. High level of musicianship and crowd was into it. Wish they played longer than the 90 min set though.

    OMG

by AS on 5/12/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

2nd Row, the horns could blow my hair back. My 5th time seeing Voodoo Daddy in the ATL (starting back in 1995), and Buckhead Theatre is a good venue for it. Will see them every chance I get.

Great show, great energy. It's clear that even after 30 years, they really enjoy what they do. Go Daddy-O!

Great music just not enough of it.

by Nukeman on 4/28/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

After 30 years these guys are still belting out great music and a great show. My disappointment was in the length of the show. At just over an hour, there were many hit songs that didn’t get played to the chagrin of fans.

    Great show

by Leacat on 4/26/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Big bad voodoo daddy always delivers a world class show. Their confidence, talent and professionalism always astounds me. The concert would have been perfect. Have a couple behind us stopped talking. I’m amazed at security. Didn’t say something to them.

    EXCELLENT Show!

by Peabers on 4/26/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I’ve never seen them before but heard a lot about them. A friend mentioned it and I love this kind of music so we decided to get a group and go! The venue could not be better! Parking was easy! Lots of restaurants nearby. But BBVD was AWESOME! The BEST show! I will be following them whenever they are in town or nearby. Best night ever!

    Big Bad Voodoo Daddy show

by Bob Y on 4/26/23Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

The BBVD show was one of the best I’ve been to. We had so much fun there. My wife and I couldn’t understand how anyone could sit still at that show. As a matter of fact towards the end of the show people were swing dancing in the aisles. If you don’t go see this band you’re definitely missing out!

    BBVD

by Art on 3/30/23The Paramount - Huntington

Concert was what i expected. Concert started late. We shouldn't wait an hour. It was a long drive home. Not a bad seat in the house.

    Fantastic & High-Energy!

by Nicohorse on 3/27/23The Paramount - Huntington

As a new fan of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, I was not sure exactly what to expect seeing a live concert. Boy I am glad my fiance bought tickets for this concert - it was great! Flawless sound, high energy, and that brass!! Awesome. The opening act, Lara Hart and the Ark-Tones, was fantastic too! Will definitely go see them both again - if you're on the fence, GO! It's worth it.

    BBVDD

by Jude on 3/27/23Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

The show itself could not have been any better- Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy is amazing! The opening band Lara Hope and the Ark-Tones were awesome! My only regret is not securing our tickets from the venue itself - their prices were significantly less for the same seats!! Beware of Ticketmaster second party Ticket Center Penn's Peak is an awesome venue-I will definitely purchase my future events tickets directly from their box- office! No more 2nd & 3rd parties overly priced tickets for me!

    Highly polished high power performance

by Tom on 3/27/23Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

These performers, and their support staff are truly professionals at their craft delivering a high performance show time after time. We try and see their shows anytime they’re in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey areas and have yet to be disappointed. Also worth mentioning is their choice of an opening act this time. Lara Hope and the Ark Tones delivered a headliner worthy performance as well that night. We’ll be looking forward to seeing them again in the future.

    Energetic performance.

by Kat on 3/27/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy gave an energetic and professional performance. Each musician was impressive and exceptional in their own right. I'm not even a lifetime "fan" of swing music but this is something I would seek out again especially for a live performance.

    Wow!

by UncleDavy on 3/27/23The Paramount - Huntington

High energy, amazing musicianship, stage presence. Almost all the songs were super fast, so limited danceability for ordinary mortals. But still great event

    Best at what they do

by No JoeK on 3/26/23The Paramount - Huntington

As eclectic as my musical taste is, this genre is down the list, but Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings the swing revival genre in highly entertaining ways. The longevity of this group must make it easier to maximize their talent. The acoustics were perfect and the music was full. Don't want to preach to the choir here. You swing revivalists are already sold on this experience. For those who want to cross over from their 'genre de préférence', this is a group to try. You won't be disappointed.
