He's created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and numerous collaborative records. Folds released his first book - a collection of interrelated essays, anecdotes and lessons about art, life and music - in 2019, which debuted as a New York Times Best Seller, and is currently hosting a podcast series spinoff of his book entitled "Lightning Bugs: Conversations with Ben Folds." In addition to solo rock and orchestral touring, he's also developing a new unscripted tv series with Fred Rogers Productions, continues to appear in various film/tv guest starring roles, and is working on two new albums.

What a wonderful experience - it was my first time sitting down at the Wiltern so we enjoyed some popcorn and drinks while Ben Folds did his thing. The second half of the performance involved playing requests written on paper airplanes which were thrown on stage. He played many deep cuts, b-sides, and all from memory. Super impressive and engaging. Would happily see more piano performances at the Wiltern if they came up! Ben Folds was great!
Ben Folds was incredible. His paper planes request tour was better than I could have imagined. What a great performer. Thanks Ben. My son was blown away, as was I.
Ben has always been a superb showman and class act. Gets better every time I see him. Truly puts a piano through it's paces as a percussion instrument. Lindsey Kraft as opener was a breath of fresh air too!
I have seen Ben Folds over 15 times live. This was a bottom 3 for me. Venue was great. Song selection was deep cuts and B sides. The paper airplane part was not well thought through as it has been in the past.
Ben Folds brought everything you'd want from an entertainer: Talent, humor, charisma. Highly recommended!
What a wonderfully delightful night seeing Ben Folds’ Paper Airplanes show @ the historic Morrison Center. Perfect setting to watch him spin his yarns and play favorites while infusing creativity to a few improvised moments. He definitely won my wife & I over with hit wit, charm & musicality. I’m likely to never miss another opportunity to see him again. Cheers & Thanks for the memorable evening!
Ben Folds put on a great show. He is a great story teller and very entertaining, even between songs. Sometimes, musicians don't sound as good live as they do on their studio albums, but I think Ben sounded great. There was a few missed lyrics, but he handled it like a champ and poked fun at himself over it. Overall, a fantastic show and I hope he returns to Boise again!
Such a fun entertainer and so talented. Loved the paper airlplane requests idea.
This was such an outstanding show! Ben Folds is an outstanding performer and he did a great job. The entire second half of the show was all request. Amazing!
Another great show in a great venue. A joyful gathering with much warmth and humor. The audience was beautiful, families and fans joining Ben in song. Opener Lindsey Kraft also fantastic. Each made a single piano an orchestra highlighting clever and moving songs.
Love going to Greenfield Lake…easy access, comfortable seating, short waiting lines for beverages and bathrooms! Ben Folds was excellent and Lindsay Kraft was a pleasant surprise! A very enjoyable evening!
The Greenfield Lake Amphitheater is a very intimate setting, and there are no bad seats. It was great seeing Ben Folds there! The opener, Lindsay Craft, was super funny, and Ben Folds was awesome. The paper airplanes at intermission (where people wrote their name and what song they'd like to hear, turned it into a paper airplane and sent it to the stage, hoping it would land on the stage floor) were a wonderful idea and a lot of fun. Highly recommend EVERYONE see a Ben Folds show!
I discovered Ben late, like just after the pandemic late and have seen him 5 times since. He is without question one of the funniest most creative people to ever grace the stage. Solo he’s great, with a band he’s great, but picking up paper airplanes playing random requests from throughout his extensive catalogue was something else. If you don’t know Ben and his music, you should. It’s never too late.
the small theater setting was great! was hoping for Ben to play Fred Jones pt 2, but did not make it on the playlist.
This is my fifth Ben Folds concert - he is an amazing artist and fun to see. I was just disappointed by the songs picked by audience members. He ended up not performing any of my favorite songs.
Ever since seeing Ben Folds Five at an outdoor venue (which was an awesome show), it was a goal to see Ben solo at a smaller, more intimate venue. The Lexington Opera House was beautiful and the staff were hospitable, professional, and well-organized. Lindsey Kraft executed a delightful performance throughout the show. Then there was Ben. I'll have to say, this show sits at the very top of my list of shows where an artist made one feel connected to the show. The music was beautiful, organic, and hit the feels of the soul on every level. Ben's energy and interaction with the audience was nothing short of an amazing experience. It was awesome as well to participate with close to a thousand other people to create a tapestry of flying paper airplanes in a short moment. I can't wait for the next opportunity to catch his performance. :-)
What a show! I saw Ben Folds back in 2008 and this was a completely different experience than I remember. Lindsey Kraft kicked the show off and she was incredible. We loved the comedy and performance of the entire show! No one is doing what Ben is doing right now. Going to try and catch another show soon!
I’ve never seen Ben Folds, but now I am a fan. So much talent to energize an audience for over two hours with nonstop original compositions. Each better than the last. Can’t wait for his Christmas album.
It was like hanging out with Ben Folds and Lindsey Craft for a while, a pleasant experience
