Belinda Carlisle returns to Australia with Special Guests
Pseudo Echo
Australian Tour 2016

Belinda Carlisle returns to Australia in February 2016 for a national run of concerts with Australian 80s iconic band Pseudo Echo. Belinda Carlisle has never stopped performing and has toured Australia numerous times to sold out shows. Playing her big solo hits alongside the much loved hits from The Go-Go’s, Belinda Carlisle one of the biggest solo female artists in the world.

Belinda rise to fame started when The Go-Go’s formed in 1978, and recorded a number of hits including “We Got The Beat” and “Our Lips are Sealed” before breaking up in 1985. At this time Belinda embarked on her hugely successful solo career and released her first solo album in 1986. Her second album “Heaven on Earth” produced the world wide hit “Heaven Is A Place on Earth” which became a number one in both
the US and UK charts and number two on the Australian charts. Another top 10 hit followed with “I Get Weak”.

Belinda continued to dominate the International charts with the 1989 release of  “Runaway Horses” a top 10 album and featured the hit songs “Leave a Light On” and “Summer Rain”. More hits were to come, including the 1996 classic “In Too Deep” showcasing her longevity in the pop music scene. The concert will feature a collection of her biggest and best hits and songs from the past and present.

Joining Belinda Carlisle on tour is Australia’s own Pseudo Echo.  Forming in Melbourne in the early 1980s, Pseudo Echo dominated the charts in the 80s with such big hits like ‘Don’t Go’, “Listening” and “Funky Town”.  Their infectious electronic beats coupled with catchy pop tunes cemented their place in Australia pop music history and their songs continued to be heard on Australian radio to this day.

    Great Show

    by Leslie on 8/9/23

Belinda put on such a great show. She was fantastic. She performed hits from her time with the Go-Gos as well as her solo songs. She was engaging with the audience. We totally enjoyed the show.

    She still Got the Beat.

by Rock the Beach on 7/27/23

First time seeing the former GoGo’s lead singer and she was fantastic. Mixing her solo hits along with her Rock and roll hall of fame bands deep catalog Belinda gave a high energy performance supported by a tight band. Very classy lady who is still very easy on the eyes. Definitely go see her if you have the chance.

    My Lips Aren’t Sealed

    by NoMoGoGoFoMo on 7/23/23

This concert is billed as “Belinda Carlisle: The Decades Tour - Celebrating 35 Years Of Her Solo Career”. It should be billed as “The Decade Tour: Belinda Carlisle Sings Solo AND Go Go’s Songs From The 80s”. She sings 18 tracks (she was singing 20 but recently removed two from the setlist); 15 of those songs are from the 80s - five songs from “Heaven On Earth”, five songs from “Runaway Horses”, four “Go Go’s” songs and one song from her debut solo album “Belinda”. Of the remaining three songs, two are from her new EP “Kismet” and one is the title track from the 1991 album “Live Your Life Be Free” (she recently removed “Do You Feel Like I Feel” from her setlist, a second song from “LYLBF” which, IMHO, is her best album). There is nothing from the albums “Real” (“Big Scary Animal”), “A Woman and A Man” (“In Too Deep”), “Voila” (“La Vi En Rose/“I Still Love Him”), or “Wilder Shores” (although that album doesn’t really contain any pop songs other than a beautifully stripped down version of “Heaven Is A Place On Earth”). Nor does this concert contain any of her singles from the late 90s, 2000s or 2010s (“All God’s Children”, “A Prayer For Everyone”, “Sun”, “Goodbye Just Go”, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”, “Both Sides Now”, “Get Together”, “If You Could Read My Mind”, “I Need You To Turn To”). Admittedly, most of these singles are somewhat unknown (except to the most diehard Belinda fans), but no more unknown than “Fool For Love” or “World Without You” (from “Heaven On Earth”) which she sings in this current show. The 18 songs in this concert total less than an hour so one would think, for the ticket price, that she’d cut the two filler songs from “Heaven On Earth” — and perhaps even one of the songs from “Runaway Horses” — and add the 90s singles “In Too Deep” and “Big Scary Animal”, both songs were continually played in video bars back in the 90s. Then reinsert two songs which she recently removed: “Do You Feel Like I Feel” (1991) and (instead of “La Luna” — a sixth song from “Runaway Horses” that she was singing) perhaps “Sun” (2013) or something from “Voila” (2007), thereby actually singing something from every decade of her career. Don’t bill a show as containing 35 years of solo material when it only contains 10 years of songs from the 80s and 1/4 of those are from when you sang in a group. If you are a hardcore Belinda fan, you will definitely be disappointed with the setlist — there’s way too much material from “Heaven On Earth” and “Runaway Horses”. Those two albums comprise 60% of the show. It also seemed like she would have rather been anywhere but singing on that stage. The stage, itself, is super dark and unappealing, no backup singers, no personal stories or real charisma or any attempt to connect with the audience, and her voice is deeper than it sounds on her albums. She was a bit off key most of the concert and it just didn’t sound like that recognizable fun “beachy” Belinda Carlisle vibrato voice that I expected. Don’t get me wrong, I love her new EP and her catalog of music but i will just listen to the albums. My friends and I were so excited to see this concert but we all left very disappointed with the music and a bit disillusioned with her as well. Not sure why people fawn all over these artists online and tell them what they want to hear instead of telling them what they need to hear. As a side note, after the concert, one of my friends, who is/was a huge fan, visited her Twitter page where she had posted a very fun music video of a single that she rarely, if ever, sings in concert. He mentioned what a fabulous song it is and that it’s unfortunate that she never sings it in her shows. He then suggested a larger variety of songs from her career (we were going to see her again in Las Vegas) and what did she do — she blocked him. Yes, you read that correctly, she blocked him because he made a request to add some of her more popular songs from various decades. Needless to say, he has decided to skip the Vegas show and now i need to figure out what to do with these tickets.

An Hour Or So of Nostalgic Pleasantry...

    by Gents on 7/23/23

She's marvelously held up, unlike Madonna, and she's got an entire solo career that some of us aren't completely familiar with. *So* with that in mind, go in knowing it ain't just Go Go's and the other half dozen solo tunes/hits you might remember. She's got an hour & a half to fill. Nonetheless, it was a good time and she does a good job with it all.

    Great Concert

Belinda Carlisle was dancing while the audience was singing along and some people were dancing. The songs were great and provided an upbeat experience the whole night. The seats were great.

    Amazing Belinda Carlisle

    by TMJ on 7/21/23

Belinda Carlisle’s performance at the NYCB Westbury was amazing. Despite a gap in performing live, Belinda has proven her mettle as an artist and delivers a wonderful rendering of all her major hits (past and present). The staff at the NYCB did an outstanding job directing people to their seats and parking spots. The NYCB was well maintained and sound systems were excellent.

    Belinda Live 💕

    by Cemo1907 on 7/21/23

Easy parking to get into but when everyone was leaving there were 3-4 lanes of people trying to get out first with no security around. There were 2 guys in the front row up on their feet from the beginning to the end of the concert. I was sitting right behind them. Me and a lot of others asked them to sit but they kept ignoring everyone and again there was nobody around to talk to them to sit. In conclusion I saw and sang along with Belinda which made me very happy

    Great music

    by Bob on 7/20/23

This was my first show at Sony Hall . I had general admission tics so I was able to stand on the right side of stage 10 feet back This venue has a great music atmosphere. As for the main act Belinda Carlisle her voice is still outstanding if you have chance catch her show

    Had a Blast

    by Manny on 7/20/23

I did not like the way we entered the place. There was too much confusion whether to stand outside or go in the bar area. I still somehow managed the first few rows. Overall it was a nice experience.

She gave a great show. Sony hall sucks!

    by Lulugirl on 7/20/23

Sony hall doesn’t provide GA seating after putting on website that it will be available, offers “one complimentary glass of tap water”, gives themselves extra tips and fails to provide a receipt when requested.

Belinda Carlisle -- Seating at Sony Hall

    by Todd on 7/20/23

This is not a review of Belinda Carlisle. She was great. This is a review of Sony Hall. The tickets that we purchased were GA, but the email that we received just said arrive early for the "best seats."There were virtually no seats and we were told when we got there that if you didn't arrive at 4 pm (4 hrs before the concert started) you didn't get a seat. I feel like this was a misrepresentation about the seating situation at the venue. If less than 5% of the people in attendance would be able to get seats, that should have been made clear. It wasn't.

Rote performance by disinterested pop star

    by Dance&groove on 7/20/23

I’ve never been to a concert where the vocalist did not introduce and thank the band or acknowledge the town she’s in. Hello? You’re in NYC - say Hi, we don’t bite! Belinda Carlisle has her practiced vocals and song list down to a science, performing numbers peppered with occasional scripted intros with scarcely a beat between songs at Sony Hall on Monday night. Seems she’s on a tight schedule as she was spotted pulling away from the curb in her Escalade-type vehicle by the time fans emerged from the theater. Still, Sony Hall was full of adoring fans who left happy after her hurried set. Sony Hall is a great venue.

    Great talent. Unorganized venue

    by Pete on 7/20/23

Was led to believe that there would be seating at this event, first come first serve. But no, it was standing. When I got my spot, I was told that I was not allowed to stand there. An hour later 20 people were standing there. But Belinda was fantastic. Although the lighting was not so great. Could barely see her face. What a shame.

    Great show bad venue

    by Jon W on 7/20/23

Belinda took the stage and sang well and had a solid band to back her up. The Sony Hall venue has very good sound however it’s mostly a standing venue and it was over sold out and very very uncomfortable.

    Amazing Experience

    by Alex on 7/18/23

I have always dreamt of seeing Belinda live and fortunately I did. She did not disappoint, most of the songs she sang were well known. The overall experience and energy was truly amazing, I would go see her again and again. She is a true gem.
