About Beatles vs. Stones

Beatles vs. Stones on Tour

It’s the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll riddle. Who was the greatest band of the ‘60s: the lovable moptops from Liverpool or the bad boys from London? The Beatles vs. Stones live revue doesn’t purport to provide a definite answer, but it will present two equally convincing cases, as two tribute bands square off in a British Invasion battle royale. Playing the role of The Beatles is Abbey Road, who re-create the Fab Four’s most iconic looks - from the well-dressed lads seen on The Ed Sullivan Show to the psychedelic circus showmen in Sgt. Pepper uniforms - as they take you on a magical musical tour through one of rock’s most revered repertories. And representing the Stones side is tribute act Satisfaction (aka The International Rolling Stones Show), whose uncannily Jaggeresque frontman, Chris LeGrand, peacocks his way through the band’s myriad eras, up into the ‘80s. The two bands each perform three alternating sets, trading some cheeky trash talk along the way. But despite their legendary rivalry, The Beatles and Rolling Stones were actually good friends in real life, and in that spirit, this musical showdown comes to a peacefully rousing conclusion. The two groups join forces at the end for a joint jam, thereby answering the question, What would Lennon and McCartney sound like belting out the chorus to “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”?

Beatles vs. Stones Background

Though its members did make a small handful of TV appearances and recordings together, The Beatles and Rolling Stones never actually performed on the same concert bill before the Fab Four retired from the road in 1966. So in 2011, The Beatles vs. Stones tribute show was launched in Los Angeles to retroactively rectify that situation by bringing together the world’s premier Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute acts on one stage - Abbey Road and Satisfaction. Since then, the show has toured across America and around the world, while hosting residencies at Harrah’s casinos in Reno and Laughlin, Nevada.

  • Stones could have used some improvement

Overall it was a fun night. I think the Beatles songs are really hard to recreate; a little easier on the earlier ones, but harder on the later ones. Beatlemaniacs like me are going to be a little disappointed. Maybe the masses not so much. The "Beatles"in my show were better vocally, a little lesser instrumentally. The "Stones"in my show were not as good vocally, but better instrumentally. The Stones songs were definitely fun. Not as musically creative and diverse as the Beatles, but I don't hear them as much and it was fun to hear them again. The show was early Beatles, then early Stones, then Sgt Pepper Beatles, then a similar period of Stones, then Abbey Road/Let it Be Beatles, then corresponding Stones. The show closed with a bang, really fun encore. Both bands out together doing a combo of Day Tripper and Satisfaction (the two worked well together), and a couple other songs. Last song was The End. I would recommend for a fun night, but not amazing.

THE BEATLES BLEW THE STONES OFF THE STAGE....YOU NEED TO UPGRADE THEM.

The show was delightful and the performances, particularly the Stone were magnificent.

  • A really big show

by Rrr on 2/20/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I can't say enough positive things about these 2 bands. If you are a fan of the Beatles or Stones, you will like it a lot. It was a high energy show. They played for hours and did a good cross section of songs. The costumes were accurate to the period. Most of all, the show got my old soul rocking the night out.

  • Best show ever!

by MIL on 2/20/24The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

Beatles vs Stones (aka Abbey Road vs Jumping Jack Flash) is a high energy show with very talented musicians that play the best music from both bands and have fun interacting with the audience. They received a well deserved standing ovation from the audience.

  • A trip down memory lane

by Cyn on 2/20/24The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful concert. Both bands were great. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I would definitely attend this concert again. Thank you Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

  • GREAT SHOW ... BUT

by mar on 2/20/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 4 out of 5

the show itself is great. The sound system at the theater could be better. During the changes of the band the sound was not optimal. It was unbalancanced and at times distorted. Whoever does your sound mix needs to be fired. During the solo by "Ringo"you could not make out the words as the sound was horrible. Drums were the loudest while the guitars lacked luster in their sound. The show was great though I enjoyed it tremendously.

  • Absolutely Out of Tune

by FFF on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 1 out of 5

The performances were so out of tune, they sounded like a novice high school band who hardly ever practice. The fake accents, poor tuning, ugly wigs, witless jokes, broken equipment made this event very hard to endure.

  • Great show between to icon bands

by Merna on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Great music by both bands. Each band played music from 3 time periods. Would change costumes also. So much fun to listen and watch. Want to see again.

  • Not as good as it has been.

by RJA on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 4 out of 5

We’ve seen this show before. The Beatles group was pretty good, especially the Paul McCartney character. However, the Stones weren’t nearly as good as in the past. The old Mick Jagger character was amazing. The guy this time around wasn’t nearly as good at all!

  • Beatles vs Stones

by Jenny on 2/19/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 3 out of 5

It was a fun evening, though the balance on the music - particularly in the Beatles' first set - seemed off balance and rushed quite a lot.

  • Lively Concert

Awesome concert. It was so fun and very interactive. They played a long time. Worth your money. Great venue

  • Outstanding concept! Two of our all-time favorite groups.

by Rick Z. on 11/1/23McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllenRating: 4 out of 5

The singers & musicians were great. John Lennon and Mick Jagger look-alikes were outstanding in look, mannerisms and sound. Other than the show starting 45 minutes late, a very enjoyable evening. We loved the closing with both bands on stage together.

  • Awesome show.

Groups did an excellent job. Really enjoyed it. The sound could be a little better. Very comfortable seats.
