About Beatles vs. Stones

Beatles vs. Stones on Tour

It’s the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll riddle. Who was the greatest band of the ‘60s: the lovable moptops from Liverpool or the bad boys from London? The Beatles vs. Stones live revue doesn’t purport to provide a definite answer, but it will present two equally convincing cases, as two tribute bands square off in a British Invasion battle royale. Playing the role of The Beatles is Abbey Road, who re-create the Fab Four’s most iconic looks - from the well-dressed lads seen on The Ed Sullivan Show to the psychedelic circus showmen in Sgt. Pepper uniforms - as they take you on a magical musical tour through one of rock’s most revered repertories. And representing the Stones side is tribute act Satisfaction (aka The International Rolling Stones Show), whose uncannily Jaggeresque frontman, Chris LeGrand, peacocks his way through the band’s myriad eras, up into the ‘80s. The two bands each perform three alternating sets, trading some cheeky trash talk along the way. But despite their legendary rivalry, The Beatles and Rolling Stones were actually good friends in real life, and in that spirit, this musical showdown comes to a peacefully rousing conclusion. The two groups join forces at the end for a joint jam, thereby answering the question, What would Lennon and McCartney sound like belting out the chorus to “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”?

Beatles vs. Stones Background

Though its members did make a small handful of TV appearances and recordings together, The Beatles and Rolling Stones never actually performed on the same concert bill before the Fab Four retired from the road in 1966. So in 2011, The Beatles vs. Stones tribute show was launched in Los Angeles to retroactively rectify that situation by bringing together the world’s premier Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute acts on one stage - Abbey Road and Satisfaction. Since then, the show has toured across America and around the world, while hosting residencies at Harrah’s casinos in Reno and Laughlin, Nevada.

Venue was great, seats were close, enjoyed the show. We thought the Beatles were the better band that night. Wasn't really impressed with Mick.

  • Two great bands in one place!

    by Mike 58 on 4/24/23The Stanley - UticaRating: 5 out of 5

Interesting venue / concept! Beatles played an early set (think Ed Sullivan 1964) then Stones came on for early hits. This rotated with Beatles as Sergeant Pepper's then a "70's" Stones set. Finally came Abby Road then 80's - 90's Stones. It concluded with both bands on stage together going back and forth between hits like Hey Jude and No Satisfaction. 2 hrs. 45 minutes of great sounding (and accurate looking) memories from days gone by. It was a great night and highly recommended!

  • Great trip down memory lane, plus bonuses.

smart arrangement : split sets, even the dual set at the end was terrific. And the teenage orchestra players were GREAT!! So smart to use the local talent!

Stanley theater is gorgeous. Snacks and adult beverages available. Bands were very good. Talented musicians and entertaining personalities. Show was really enjoyable. Whitesboro High School String Quartet joined the groups for a few numbers. Awesome job but i wish they were where they could be seen and not so far back on the stage. Overall a very entertaining evening

  • Great concert!

by KathyB on 4/24/23The Stanley - UticaRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great. Both groups did a fantastic job of representing the Beatles and Stones during the appropriate time periods, including costumes! The Stanley is a beautiful venue and the staff there was great. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for those with cell phones holding them up to record and take pictures and thus blocking my view. I wish cell phones would be banned from concerts. I understand that attendees mean it as a tribute to take pictures, but the band deserves their undivided attention as well as other attendees deserve to see the entire concert without being distracted.

  • The battle analyzed!

I took four of my grandchildren 16 to 7 years old. They were not familiar with the early 60's but the rest they thoroughly enjoyed. We were all singing and dancing away! My youngest grandchild said that the Rolling Stones won. He moves like Jagger! Their parents were jealous!

  • Very good performance

We enjoyed it a lot. I’m not even a big Stones fan but ‘Jagger’ stole the show. Had him down so well. Excellent music by both bands. Long show too. 2 plus hours..just a great time.

by Karen on 3/12/23The Walker Theatre - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Both tribute bands were dead on! My husband and I , along with everyone else in attendance, danced in our seats and sang along to every song. I wanna' thank everyone involved or putting in the time it took to put that show together. It was wonderful!!!

  • Can't "Beat" this!

by innkeepers on 3/12/23The Walker Theatre - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show from beginning until the end! Whether a Beatles or Stones fan you should love it all. Superior playing and singing by ALL concerned. Almost like being at a concert of the originals . . . and some of the songs were never performed in concert by the Beatles. If you get the opportunity, don't miss this show!!!

  • Great Show....

by DonP on 2/14/23The Studio at Mizner Park - Boca RatonRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show. Both groups could play theire instruments and sing. The beatle songs sounded just like the fab four and The Rolling Stones with the Mick JAGGER look alike, had so much energy, jumping around, dancing and mingling with the audience. Great show I would see it again.

  • Fun, but venue needs improvements

by Joe on 2/14/23The Studio at Mizner Park - Boca RatonRating: 3 out of 5

Musically, the show was fun after a faulty start on the vocals during the first "Beatles" set. My problems with with the venue. The stage was at floor level and even though you paid more for the tickets in section 1, you'd have likely been better off further back. Clearly, this room is not made for music, otherwise there would have been a raised stage. Then, during intermission there was only 1 bartender and the line was extremely long. And don't get me going on parking in Boca - nightmare!!!!

  • Beatles VsStones

by Tin Man on 1/3/23Fiesta Showroom at Harrah's Laughlin - LaughlinRating: 5 out of 5

The Beatles opened in their 1960 Ed Sullivan suits and played accordingly! Conversely the Stones opened dressed casually and played their hard edged style tunes. When the Beatles returned, they were in 1970s garb and played Something to open the second set. Mick had a beautiful red sparkly jacket & matching scarf in his second go round. He also battled with the mike stand three times running Into it, over it, & around it. To conclude, the Boys from England performed brilliantly and brought us all back many years. Of course, the Beatles get the edge. The melodies are much nicer and their guitarists excellent. Meanwhile back Ringo was his usual unique self!

  • Fantastic!
