  • slow in the middle

by robdaddyo on 5/12/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

BNL has been more dynamic in the past. The first hour of their set seemed more about the band than the performance itself. It picked up when they welcomed a local player up on the stage and went uptempo with some of their more familiar music

  • Still lovin BNL

by SRGB on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I saw them for the 1st time when I was in college. 20 years later I'm still amazed at what they bring to each show. I miss Steve but Ed and the rest of the guys are so awesome that you soon forget he's not there.

  • BNL rocks!

I would totally recommend this show to anyone. BNL were amazing. I had never seen them in concert before but after that I will definitely be seeing them once they return to Columbus.

  • Absolutely Amazing

by BNABNL on 5/12/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The opening act to the finale was awesome! Thanks BNL! You guys rule.

  • Never a disappointment!

    by BNLfan22 on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 4th BNL concert. Each one has been unique and entertaining. I went with 3 other people who had never been to a BNL concert and they kept commenting on the humor of the group. Never a dull moment. I always enjoy the spontaneous songs. Hope to see many more of their shows!

The Bare Naked Ladies were amazing! The energy in the entire auditorium was electrifying!

  • by newincolumbus on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Great show but we were VERY DISAPPOINTED they did not sing one of their greatest songs "Brian Wilson's War!"

  • BNL was fricken awesome!

by HugeBNLfan on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I will start off by saying that I am a HUGE BNL fan! I was very excited to see them perform both their new material and new line-up. I think it worked out great! They did a great job mixing old favorites with their new songs. I was delightedly surprised they did "If I Had $1000000." They all sounded great (except for some of Kevin's higher register) and you could tell they were having fun on stage. Their banter and humor was as good as always. I absolutely loved their live versions of "Sound of Your Voice" and "Bank Job." They made those songs hilarious! And they even did a song from their children's album: "Pollywog in a Bog." On another note, I would highly recommend the Palace Theatre for a concert. It felt very intimate because the theatre only seated around 3000 people.

  • BNL rocked it old school

by gbgpodcastdotcom on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Since the announcement of Steven Paige leaving the band, while I didn't doubt the band's musical talent in the studio, their live show seemed to thrive from Steven and Ed's banter back and forth. Out of the many shows here in Columbus I've seen since their Everything to Everyone tour, rarely does anyone besides Tyler pipe up much to talk. And so this tour was mostly a big test: to the band, and to the fans. And I gotta say BNL was firing on ALL cylinders last night. Their songs, but new and old were just in good form, and the banter between the band was on par, the adlib 'raps' while only 1, was made up with the tons of humor and talking to the audience that BNL has been known for, but this time, not just ED, it was the entire band, and it was refreshing! While there was no dance number to one of their own songs that was a staple of the shoes, they did seemingly do a beatbox breakdance towards the end that seemed slightly improved and it was a joy to see. i brought a friend of mine who never heard the band except on one week and one other song and really dug them. Also... the beautiful Ingrid Michaelson was a doll. She was equally abrasive in her humor, just like BNL and was, I thought, a perfect fit for the BNL show. And she met everyone afterwards before BNL came out and she was so kind and sweet. Hope she tours with them again soon and or comes back to columbus!

  • Great Musicians. Great Entertainers. Great Show.

by AMust on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

I frankly went in with low(ered) expectations for the Page-less band. I walked out with the new album and serious appreciation for this group which has really gelled as a quartet. When a band has this much fun on stage, it's hard not to enjoy the show. You will be entertained! Would've been five stars, but they simply forgot to play two of my favorites (Alcohol & I'll Be That Girl). Other than that, it was a perfect blend of the old and new.

  • BNL at the Palace 5/11/10

by mtrdublin on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

Overall, the BNL show last night was pretty good. Not the best show I've seen in the last year, but entertaining. We were a little leary how they would sound without Steven, but they seemed to pull off most of the BNL catalog pretty well. The one thing that they were missing was Steven's stage presence. Without his antics and excitement, the overall vibe was kind of low key.... we got up and danced on a couple occations, but spent the majority of the evening sitting.

  • by Anonymous on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. Sounded great. Good play list mixing new and old.

  • Barenaked Ladies: Incredibly entertaining live!

by Slad on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I've always loved the music of barenaked ladies... they've never taken anything too seriously, and their ridiculous lyrics only add to their style. I never imagined their live show would be as good as it was, however... They're definitely in the top couple most entertaining shows I've seen. They played a long set and covered all their big songs, including some of their older stuff, and they even made up several songs on the spot. It was truly an awesome show, and everyone in the Palace Theater was dancing and rocking out by the end.

  • bnl is back and solid!

    by THANKS1234 on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I was concerned of how they would be without Steve but the band was Extremenly Solid!!!! Steve Who??? What a wonderful mix of old and new songs... all the best of the oldies and a great performance of the new songs! Thanks BNL----- we'll see ya on S & D 4! EXCELLENT JOB BOYS!

  • A fantastic concert - want to see them again!!

by kashby on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Barenaked Ladies were awesome. They just keep getting better and it is always an entertaining show from start to finish! Can't wait to see them again and again!

  • by Anonymous on 5/12/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

I didn't like that they waited until the end of the concert to play their old hits. I understand that they want to promote their new songs from their new cd, but a lot of people came to hear the hit songs from the past.

  • BNL Live, What a show!

by Buckeyejt on 5/12/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I have wanted to see these guys perform live for so long now and finally I got my wish. My schedule never seemed to work when they were in town but finally. They did not disappoint. These guys really seem to enjoy putting on a show for people and really seem to enjoy each other. The energy they put off is amazing. This was the best live performance since I saw Huey Lewis and the News years ago. These guys are amazing in person. I would definitely go see them again, especially at the Palace. That was a great venue to see a truly remarkable band. Thank you Canada for the gift that is BNL.
