BNL was awesome!!! I love going to their concerts. They are so entertaining and the humor they involve in their songs is awesome!!!!
They played way too many tunes that were not hits. Concert dragged from tune 2 til the encore. Played 4 oldies at end but skipped Brian Wilson and Jane..disappointing.
The perfect evening - good weather, great venue, and Barenaked Ladies. Always playful and spontaneous, BnL played up their Zoo venue, taunting the Cheetahs (as they lack opposing thumbs), dedicating songs to Tigers, and singing about the new Polar Bear cub. The evening reached a fevered pitch with several classic BnL hits.
They were brilliant. Seriously. I would absolutely see them again, and recommend seeing them to anyone who even has a passing interest in their music.
Fantastic. Great performance that you've come to expect from BNL.
I'm not gonna say Steven Page wasn't missed, but the remaining four definitely upped their stage presence. In fact, best I've seen them since the Maroon tour. They're definitely the most enderrated band, musician wise. Harmonies were astounding
Much of the concert felt like a jam session - it was amazing. They are very talented musicians and songwriters! Very fun to see live:)
BNL is a great band but the show was boring. Their new album isn't as good as previous albums and that's what they played the majority of the time.
Palace Theatre was a really neat venue, great acoustics, nice place to see BNL. The Ladies have been my favorite guys since 1998 - been following them around on concerts and on their cruises. This was my first BNL concert since the departure of Steven Page and I have to confess I was a little uncertain about what it'd be like without him... but it was amazing. The guys really have done well with the change and turned themselves from an amazing quintet into an even more amazing "4 Piece". The energy and aura of the band were strong and vibrant, happy and healthy. I really loved how they reworked Page's Sound of Your Voice to fit Kevin's style, as well as Ed's rendition of What A Good Boy - both pieces were breathtakingly beautiful and heartfelt. You Run Away was of course amazing live - a bittersweet moment for all of us hardcore fans, I think. I thought their "entrance" rocked - loved the backlighting behind the sheet so that you could see their silhouettes. Awesome touch. Extraordinarily talented musicians and ever the showmen, they put on a fabulous show that night that I'll never forget! Thanks guys!
The Barenaked Laies are carrying on just fine without Steven Page, although purists no doubt still miss him, and his absence meant that certain staples ("Brian Wilson," for example) were missing from the set. Still, the band was having a rollicking good time, and their energy was infectious. I might add that my wife and I both commented how clear the sound mix was. A great night overall.
I wasn't sure what to expect in the post Steven Page era but The Ladies did not disappoint! Lots of improv songs -- bbq cheetah, polar bear babies -- good times. Did miss Steven's energy and enthusiam on stage, it's a little bit of a different vibe with just the four, but musically they sounded awesome!
The place was packed, it was a perfect night. They were great and included us from Toledo as part of their show. Good variety of songs, they were entertaining. I had fun and enjoyed the music. I was disappointed that they went for their "first good bye" after only an hour.................... But they did come back and played some more ..... Thanks!!!!!!! I would definetly go and see them again :)
What a great concert, from beginning to end. Some songs were new to me but I loved every one of them! I had a fantastic night!
Not only was it a perfect concert, it was a perfect weatherwise to see an outdoor concert. The group put on an amazing show with both music and comedy. They kept the crowd rocking the entire time. Great job guys!!!
BNL always puts on a great show. I only wish they played more of their older hits.
I've been to tons of shows and this was one of the best! I would see them again in a heartbeat!
Saw BNL at Toledo Zoo Amphitheater last night; truly astounding...these guys are so talented! 2 hr. concert !
The concert was terrific -- lots of energy and creativity. What a great way to spend an evening. Also really enjoyed Ingrid, the opening artist.
We had an awesome time!!!! BNL was very funny and personal in between their different songs, telling jokes about playing at a zoo and eating cheetas. I overheard some people grumbling about playing too many new songs off of their newest album and the crowd was way more into their classic stuff. But overall it was a great night, great venue, and alot of fun!
My husband and I saw BNL last night and after a stressful last few months, Ed Robertson and Crew were just what we needed. The show was amazing!! They engaged with the crowd, their impromptus were hilarious! The song performances were unforgettable!! It was just soo much fun!! We left with warm fuzzies in our heart, and unforgettable memory, good feelings, and anticipation to see them again and again!! The moment that weighed heaviest on our hearts, was the end of the concert...SImply unforgettable!! Can't wait to see them again!! A great way to bring in summer!! and the best stress reliever ever
