  • BNL rocks it old school!

by Vinceswife on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

First off, Ingrid Michelson (sp?) was funny and warm and sang beautifully. It was a nice way to open a show. The songs were a mix of old and new. "What a Good Boy", "These Apples", "When I Fall" were wonderfully sang, as well as the standards of Pinch Me, One Week, and Million Dollars. The new songs were fun to hear and the band seemed to be having a great time onstage with lots of energy and passion. The chatter about the city was funny, not overdone, and there was a great little dance number. Just a blast!

  • BNL Rocked, Soundsystem sucked

by Hoosiernky on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

BNL rocked again!!!! Palace Theater soundsystem was horrible.

  • Better at the end

by MBToledo on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

I know BNL from my college days so I haven't heard much of their new stuff, which was about 75% of the concert. Once they did start playing their older music the crowd was much more into the concert. Would of been nice if they had mixed it up a bit to keep the crowd going the whole time instead of just at the end. I loved their ad lib songs and stories about the zoo and their experiences in Toledo, made it seem like they really cared about where they were playing.

  • So much fun! A truly entertaining band!

by Wingate on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

A great opening act - Ingrid Michaelson was both funny and extremely talented! A voice that makes your ears very happy! Plus she's got a sense of humour and makes you love her instantly. Barenaked Ladies have been around for 20 years and they still have fun together! They did a nice mix of radio hits and lesser known songs. I've seen them before and this time I took my kids - who had a blast! The crowd gets involved and every face is smiling. Truly an entertaining evening!

  • Barenaked Ladies are back

by evilgator on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

When we first bought these tickets I was worried that the band and thier shows will never be the same with Steven Page leaving the band. The free album download that came with purchase of the tickets allowed me to preview thier new sound. The venue was beautiful and small so every seat was good. The actual concert was typical BNL, they joked around and played some ad lib songs. They played a great setlist playing new songs, old songs, and then thier greatest hits. Ingrid Michaelson was also really good and came out and sang with Ed.

  • Ingrid and BNL were amazing. Great sound!

    by Gabbs1228 on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We loved the Palace. The sound was great. One great concert.

  • Barenaked Ladies Perform @ the Zoo

by LeftyGal on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed most of the show with the exception of the drunk women behind me, as well as the funny stories about going to the Maumee Indoor & the same local Mexican Restaurant twice in one day. Also, the made up songs about the animals at the Toledo Zoo were hilarious! I admit that I missed hearing some of my favorite songs, Yoko Ono & Brian Wilson. Many of the new Barenaked Ladies songs have a more serious tone. I realize that goes with maturity, but I do love their old light-hearted music best!

  • BNL was disappointing

by CathandMark on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 3 out of 5

Saw BNL at the Toledo Zoo on Friday night. My group of friends have seen them probably 30-35 times in years past. We travelled from all over Ohio and Michigan for our own little reunion, hoping that the concert would be as much fun as the past. Thank God we all had fun with each other's company because the concert was very disappointing. The few old songs that they sang were fun, but they definitely did not sing enough. The new songs were slow and boring. Who wants to sit in their seats and stare at a BNL concert? For God's sake, they didn't even sing Jane! Of course, Ed's improvisational wrap was awesome! He is still funny as ever. But the song list sucked. We have declared that this was our ........ (said sadly) our last BNL concert.

  • Barenaked Ladies are awesome

by dklnmom on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. They are so talented and hilarious. The concert was at the Toledo Zoo and they were able to make up songs about animals at the zoo. What a fun night it was!!!

  • by Anonymous on 5/15/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The event was anything and everything you would expect from the BNL. They were a very lively bunch adding to there songs with fun jokes and references. The way they engaged the audience makes for a great experience and I will be seeing them again and again.

  • BNL still puts on a good show!

by GrizzlyJB on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

I have been to 7 BNL concerts. While Steven Page is missed, the band still puts on a very good show.

  • Good show, bad seating

by pandachick on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

Down to 4 original members, BNL came out and gave a show like they always do, entertaining music, witty commentary and onstage talk (MMM, BBQ Cheetah! and product switching movie theatres). I have to be honest, though, and say they need to not let Jim and Kevin sing their own stuff, it ground the show to a halt several times. They can do the BNL songs, but leave their stuff to solo touring, please. The Toledo Zoo location was beautiful, but the seating in the lower levels was awful. Tiny folding chairs tie-wrapped together made for very snug accomodations. You could not even put the seat up to make more room. I literally had to stand sideways during most of the show, until my husband on one side and my friend on the other decided to sit down.

  • BNL awesome as always

by EricaMB on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

sooo glad they played older stuff. new stuff is too mellow! but overall an amazing show! OH NO THE CHEETAHS ARE ON FIRE!!!

  • BNL rocked the Zoo!

by JenInMichigan on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show - it was a wonderful mix of the radio hits and songs off the new album "All in Good Time". Loved hearing those songs live as much as I loved hearing the likes of "Old Apartment". The new song "Ordinary" is a favorite. Great energy during the show and the crowd was really into it. The weather was wonderful so it was a great night!

  • OK

    by SamIAm222222 on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 3 out of 5

They did play some HITS, but way too many songs the crowd had no idea what they were...me included...

  • Good but something missing...

    by kkristin2 on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 3 out of 5

The band looked familiar and sounded familiar but was missing their balance...Steven Page! The second song was "Old Apartment" but after that, really nothing went back to their hey day! Much of their usual showmanship and ad libbing was good but if you've seen a show of theirs before, then you've seen a lot of the same stuff. If you like their newer songs from the last few albums, you will enjoy the show much more than we did but we couldn't help but miss the "yang" to Ed's "yin".

  • BNL and the cheetahs!

by moneeee on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the concert and the way they included the zoo and local culture/businesses in the show. You wouldn't be embarassed to take your children, either. Well worth the money.

  • BNL 4 piece was great!!!

by Mallets on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

I was a little worried with the power of Steve Page missing, but the guys pulled it off and I thought the concert was pretty darn good!!!

  • Barenaked Ladies

by JenGab on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 2 out of 5

I was not impressed. I expected more of there old songs. They were great when I saw them years ago...I probably would not go again. Also the venue was not great at all. The opening act started at 8:30, but they stopped selling beer tickets at 9...I didn't get that at all.

  • BNL Awesome as Always!

by windfiredva on 5/15/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen BNL in concert more than 25 times. They never fail to be great.
