  • BNL

by bnlmusicman on 5/17/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

BNL was great. It was strange not seeing Steven Page up there. But they did a pretty good job without him. Ed did a great job. The middle part of the show lost some of its energy. They played some slower songs that seemed to disinterest many of the people around me. I also have a heard time getting to like Kevin Hearn. He is a great musician, but I do not like his voice. In addition, not BNL's fault, the bleachers at the Toledo zoo will awful. Uncomfortable and did allow shorter people to see the band... But a great show nerveless. The opener-ingrid was not very good...

Most humerous concert I'll ever see. Very entertaining. They made up 3 songs just for our town that were hillarious!

  • BNL still rocks!

by RSWoody on 5/17/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

While it was not our favorite BNL Concert, it was still good and a lot of fun. Even without Steven Page, the group puts on a ridiculously great show. There was a great mix of old and new songs. BNL's "impromptu" pieces, songs and chat, never let us down. The gang was awesome and entertaining as always!

  • BNL is back!

by Samthequeen on 5/17/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This is the third time I've seen the guys since Steve left. This is the first time it really felt like they were comfortable with both the old and new songs again. It was a great balance, and I love that ALL members are being showcased now!

  • by dutty52 on 5/17/10Adler Theatre - DavenportRating: 4 out of 5

I have to be honest, I have been a BNL fan for years and years...the humor that Steven Page provided was most definately missing...I would also imagine that the songs written by him are off-limits now. The show was less campy than usual. The new album is slower and more sincere but that isn't what people want from BNL. The crowd woke up when the older songs were played. Having said that, I still love BNL and would go to the next concert...I just wish Ed and the guys didn't have to suffer because of Page.

    10......10.......10......10.......10.....It was GREAT

  • OK show, terrible acoustics

by Anonymous on 5/17/10Adler Theatre - DavenportRating: 2 out of 5

The BNL show was OK. I missed Stephen Paige. The auditorium has horrible acoustics. Muddy, blaring and poorly mixed.

  • BNL was amazing!

by mamaclimb on 5/17/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was great, Ingrid Michelson is so talented and the musical style flows so well with the Barenaked Ladies. So glad they are headlining! The number of songs and the range of songs was awesome, I took my 11 year old for her first BNL concert and she really enjoyed it. They are really embracing their new sound and it works! I would recommend a BNL concert to anyone. It's such an interactive experience like no other performances.

  • Barenaked Ladies at the Louisville Palace

by mamapanda on 5/17/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The show was humorous and entertaining however, seeing Barenaked Ladies in concert without Steven Page, is like having a craving for BLT and not having any lettuce. You can still make a nice sandwich, but you can't help but be disappointed because the sandwich that you made is missing a special ingredient. That is how I felt about last night's concert. BNL band is vastly talented; Ed Robertson, Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn and Tyler Stewart put on a very good concert for their faithful fans. I was happy to see BNL them back on tour again after the departure of Steven Page, but I couldn't help but feel that there was something missing from the mix, that being the harmony and vocals of Page. So, I can only give four stars instead of the five that BNL would normally receive.

  • Another Fantastic show!

by NurseShmoo on 5/16/10Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I love BNL, have for years and have seen them about 25 times. They NEVER disappoint. I took a friend who had never seen them and she said that she would love to go again when they return. My favorite songs that night where: Bank job, Ordinary, and Tonight is the night I fell asleep at the wheel. If you have never been then you should treat your to an amazing LIVE experience.

  • BNL was AWESOME!!!!

by RHODTRIP on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Ed and the guys were TERRIFIC! It was great to hear them sing their new songs and also we loved hearing some classic BNL songs! We did miss Seen Page's voice and wacky dancing but BNL is rocking on VERY WELL without him. GREAT CONCERT!!!!!!!! :)

  • by Anonymous on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Good harmony. Fun songs. Grest musicianship. Nice interaction with the crowd and related well by creating a few songs with Toledo in them.

  • Fun, creative, and unique!

    by Leaf25 on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show! Both the BNL and Ingrid Michaelson had so much fun with the whole zoo venue. BNL made up a couple songs about the animals, too! They had a good mix of new stuff and their old classics that everyone wanted to hear. I actually went more to see Ingrid, and she was great...I wish she could have played longer! I loved that she did a meet-and-greet afterward! I also loved that BNL brought her out to do a song with them...a truly unique concert!

  • Really fun show

by MIBnLFan on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

I bought tickets for my family to see the Bare Naked Ladies at the Toledo Zoo. My wife & I have liked them for years. As a bonus, the warm-up act was Ingrid Michaelson, so my wife was thrilled. She too put on a nice show. This was my first time seeing BnL, and I was really pleased with the concert. It had been many years since I listened to anything new from them - they put out a real stinker CD 5+ yrs ago and I figured they were toast (heading for a disbanding). The music was great, the humor was really fun - we all had a blast!

  • What's not to love?

by Bellevillegal on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show....took our son for his first BNL show and he's waiting for his next. Energy was great, improv funny, sounded great. Though not the BNL of old, still very much a good time.

  • by ATK2010 on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

BNL put on a great show!! They were hilarious and even down an original member, they were awesome. Ingrid Michealson also put on an amazing performance.

  • BNL - New Version

    by teachermom41 on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 4 out of 5

Guys did pretty well considering the new dynamic. Included oldies and new songs. It was a bit hard to hear Kevin sing some of Steve's parts. I can't deny that his voice was missed. Other guys stepped up. I was really impressed by Kevin's guitar playing.

  • AWESOMENESS ensues!!!!!

by Speleochik on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

it was a great event..... the weather was right and the guys on stage were on FIRE!! They were doing improv songs about the animals in the zoo.... FANTASTIC!!! I was a big fan before, now, I'm a HUGE FAN!!!! if they come back, I WILL buy tickets and tell everyone I know to go!!! Thanks guys!! YOU WERE AWESOME!!!!

  • An Amazing Show!

by LouisvilleJackie on 5/16/10Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

As always, Barenaked Ladies delivered a memorable performance! The are highly entertaining, switching around with different forms of music, and bring comedy into their show. They entertain you, just don't sing to you!

  • As Always - BNL doesn't disappoint

by Anonymous on 5/16/10Toledo Zoo Amphitheater - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

One of those groups that is better live. Always have something in the show off the top of their heads - this time topical to the Zoo venue: BBQ Cheetas (band could see cheetas from the stage) and Baby Polar Bear songs. Plus a nice mix of the old, the new, and the kids songs. Biggest minus - really miss Steven Paige (hope he recovers soon from having his baby)
