BACHMAN & TURNER IN CONCERT:
Canadian classic rock heroes Bachman & Turner are back on the road in 2014, treating fans to marathon sets of nostalgic hits like "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and "Let It Ride." The duo rose to international superstardom in the '70s as Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and although they've dropped the "overdrive" from their name in the new millennium, they haven't lost any of their hard-charging spark. Amid rumors that they'll be performing their seminal 1974 album Not Fragile end-to-end on their 2014 tour dates, gearheads from coast to coast are lining up for a chance to catch these legends in concert.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
After rising to prominence with The Guess Who in the '60s, guitarist Randy Bachman formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive with singer Fred Turner in the early '70s. While their eponymous 1973 debut album was a moderate success, it was sophomore album Bachman-Turner Overdrive II that really put them on the map, generating huge sales in the US and Canada thanks to hit singles "Taking Care of Business" and "Let It Ride." Third album Not Fragile was an even bigger success, topping the Billboard 200 and producing classic rock standard "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." Reunited in 2010 as Bachman & Turner, the duo continue to record and tour, with a handful of highly anticipated appearances scheduled for 2014.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"...Bachman and Turner rocked out...these two guys are still fantastic after all these years. Turners voice is so authentic and Randy's guitar playing is unbelievable.”
"These guys have gotten better with age. The show was outstanding! Music played just like you remember and the crowd was on their feet!"
"...one heck of a great concert. Randy played that guitar ..... Just WOW. His vocals were perfect. Turner played great... They looked like they were having fun and the crowd responded with standing ovations."
Blue Oyster Cult still rocks. Foghat was really good too. Bachman Turner should have opened the show.
Great concert! I could spend the night rocking with Buck Dharma and BOC.
Unbelievable night of Rock n Roll. All three groups were outstanding.
Excellent bands with little time to play. Still managed to play lesser known hits before playing there mega's. Bachman & Turner played many unknown hits to the crowd. And tons of people were walking out. They waited to the last two songs to play there power houses. Blue Oyster Cult engaged the crowed from start to finish. Foghat started of strong then weakened then ended powerful.
All in all the guys still have it. Everyhting sounded great. Was very pleased with all three groups!!!
It concert was better than anticipated. Musicians were extraordinary. Pure pleasure for rockers of all ages.
Even though I was not familiar with many of Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult tunes except for their biggest hits, they (especially Foghat) put on a great show. I loved every tune they played. Then Bachman Turner came on stage and brought the house down. The crowd really came alive and the place was jumping. Great concert !
Great hard-driving classic rock & roll. Superb guitar work by all the bands. A must-see for young and young at heart. This is the way we did it in the 70's - real rock. These guys are polished.
The show was good. Blue Oyster Cult was great and I would have liked to see them play a longer set. They were the highlight of the evening. BT and Foghat were fun too. BT set was alittle long though
they all still rock and the celeste center has a great sound no matter where your seats are. what a great show and get to support the Ohio State Fair youth makes it even better.
The show was great. All of the bands did a great job with their acts. It is great to hear the older bands still have what it takes to perform and people young and old still love their music.
Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult were awesome. Same energy as from the 70's. Bachman Turner came out and we thought there was a sound system problem. Then realized it was their tired, feeble voices. The concert was fun, a great trip down memory lane, but Blue Oyster Cult could have been the headliner. We left early after BT got through only three songs.
GREAT SHOW and MUSIC!!!!! We had great seats and ROCK-N-ROLL!!!
They were all 3 great!!!!! we enjoyed all 3 groups
I really went to see Blue Oyster Cult and thought they would no doubt be the Headliner and they were Outstanding but B.T.O. Rocked the house ,,, Totally forgot about all the Big Hits they had and they sounded Amazing just like they did 30 plus years ago !!!!!
Totally awesome. Great old time rock and roll all three bands had everyone on their feet singing along with the bands. Bachman playing the guitar with a drum stick and all of foghat was totally awesome. First time at the celeste center and we will definitely be back for more great shows like this one for sure.
Foghat came out strong and played all of their hits , played well to the crowd , and was impressive . I thought that Blue Oyster Cult didn't play up to a less than average set . I came mainly to see them , as I have seen them many years ago several times . Slightly disappointing . Bachman Turner Overdrive was AMAZING . The fact that the 2 main singers, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner can put so much energy into a set that included most of their hits , Takin care of business, Let it Ride , 4 wheel Drive , etc , and at their age . I had never seen BTO in the 1970s , the peak of the band's career . If you have a chance to see these bands , don't pass it up . You may bever get the chance again .
I was amazed at how good each group performed, especially blazing guitars. The night made me feel like I was back in the 70s and it felt great.
The sound was terrible. Need to update the sound system or have the shows elsewhere. The bands were good to see but I expected better. Almost forgot, there were a total of two types of t-shirts left after Foghat played! Whats up with that? This was bad planning on someone's part.
I was so impressed with the level of all three bands. All three put 0n amazing performances! Didn't get to see them live in the seventies. I am certain that what I saw Saturday was as good as if not better that any performances back in the "day"!
