BACHMAN & TURNER IN CONCERT:

Canadian classic rock heroes Bachman & Turner are back on the road in 2014, treating fans to marathon sets of nostalgic hits like "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and "Let It Ride." The duo rose to international superstardom in the '70s as Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and although they've dropped the "overdrive" from their name in the new millennium, they haven't lost any of their hard-charging spark. Amid rumors that they'll be performing their seminal 1974 album Not Fragile end-to-end on their 2014 tour dates, gearheads from coast to coast are lining up for a chance to catch these legends in concert.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

After rising to prominence with The Guess Who in the '60s, guitarist Randy Bachman formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive with singer Fred Turner in the early '70s. While their eponymous 1973 debut album was a moderate success, it was sophomore album Bachman-Turner Overdrive II that really put them on the map, generating huge sales in the US and Canada thanks to hit singles "Taking Care of Business" and "Let It Ride." Third album Not Fragile was an even bigger success, topping the Billboard 200 and producing classic rock standard "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." Reunited in 2010 as Bachman & Turner, the duo continue to record and tour, with a handful of highly anticipated appearances scheduled for 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"...Bachman and Turner rocked out...these two guys are still fantastic after all these years. Turners voice is so authentic and Randy's guitar playing is unbelievable.”

"These guys have gotten better with age. The show was outstanding! Music played just like you remember and the crowd was on their feet!"

"...one heck of a great concert. Randy played that guitar ..... Just WOW. His vocals were perfect. Turner played great... They looked like they were having fun and the crowd responded with standing ovations."

    Great show!

    by David30189 on 8/2/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Good grouping of bands, all of which were pumping out hard rock in the mid-1970's. Bachman & Turner and Blue Oyster Cult sounded great! Foghat played their hits, though the venue did not compliment their sound very well (it came off as loud, distorted noise). My biggest dissapointment was that, as the headliner, Bachman & Turner's set-list was shorter than that of other shows that I have seen them play, which was obviously the result of the promoter cramming 3 shows into a schedule that was best suited for only two.

    Bachman Turner doing it Over

by MojosCoppernickel on 8/1/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Foghat opened with a soulful performance combining blues and that southern fried rock feel. Ending with a memorable performance of Slow Ride. Blue Oyster Cult music didn't translate as the best live music to me. To some, including my 21 year old daughter, they enjoyed BOC the best of all 3 bands. To me, other than Don't Fear the Reaper it wasn't a stand up and rock the house kind of performance. Richie Castellano is an amazing guitarist. BTO (Bachman Turner doOver) didn't disappoint. Opened with Let it Roll Down the Highway. Great experience as they played all the BTO favorites and even threw in some Guess Who. Voices have aged like us all, but the music is timeless. Ended with a crowd pleasing, crowd participation, Takin Care of Business. The crowd was up and helping with the lyrics. Music has a way of taking you back to a place in your life and BTO was a big part of that place. Randy using the drumstick to play guitar is great.

    Bachman & Turner

by MotorSergeant on 7/30/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Foghat opened up and started rockin'...they did good, played most if not all their hits. Blue Oyster Cult came on and started slow, had a bass solo that rocked, then 70 year old Randy Bachman & Fred Turner started. They still got it! They sounded very good, played very good, worked the crowd like it was 1970's. Very impressive, very good entertainers. Old School Rock at its best!

    FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by DJS7 on 7/30/14The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing these wonderful musicians nearly 40 years after their first album. Their vocals, as well as their expertise on instruments is unmatched. Randy Bachman still commands EVERY guitar he plays and his vocals sound the same or better than in the past. Fred Turner is an accommplished musician and his vocals are still raspy and easily recognizable!!! I would see these guys EVERY DAY!!! Their band was fabulous: drummer was wonderful and the 2 guys on guitars were well-seasoned musicians: A-1 !!!!!!!

    Great Set List

by Guiddo on 7/30/14Celeste Center - Columbus

All 3 bands put on a terrific show - sound was great - Foghat, with it's new members did a good job with their hit list - Fool for the City was my favorite - Had never seen Blue Oyster Cult live before - did not realize their East Coast roots - guitar and harmony were outstanding - my favorite is Bachman Turner - Randy is amazing with the guitar riffs, and the vocals from both were clear and strong - still Takin' Care of Business !!!!

    B & T , B.O.C, and Foghat the 70's remembered

by Goodwolf on 7/30/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Awesome to see bands of this time period rocking it like they did in the 70's. By the passion that they all played with , truly obvious that they all love their rock and roll. Would go and see all three bands again, without a second thought.

    by rufus50 on 7/30/14Celeste Center - Columbus

All 3 bands were great! First time to see Foghat but used to play their music repeatedly, so it was great to hear Slow Ride in person. Fourth time seeing BOC in last couple of years and they are never disappointing. Bachman &Turner surprised me with the variety of their music. Loved the whole concert and would see them all again.

Nice evening and some great music

by OConcertGirl on 7/30/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat were even better than expected. Bachman & Turner were the reason we booked, but they sung very little compared to instrumentals, so we were slightly disappointed in them. Overall a fun evening.

Foghat blew the roof off the Ohio State Fair!

by xaba on 7/29/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Generally, when a band opens for another act; it's usually because the following act is better. Not so in the case of Foghat opening the show for Blue Oyster Cult and Bachman-Turner. Foghat rocked! From everything to "I Just wanna Make Love to You", from "Fool for the City", and ending of course, with "Slow Ride". The entire crowd were on their feet! Blue Oyster Cult seemed to be somewhat of a let down. They appeared to be figuring out the set list as they performed. Perhaps, this was due to the fact that a new drummer from New York, was appearing with them for the first time. There were moments, during "Godzilla" and "Don't Fear the Reaper"' however; when the crowd appeared to enjoy it; but for the most part, it seemed to be a "lackluster" performance. When Bachman -Turner took the stage; Randy Bachman appeared to look tired or even ill. When he sang the first few songs, it sounded as if he had somewhat of a cold or sore throat. Nonetheless, the show went on and Bachman -Turner managed to prove to Central Ohio why they have been rocking for so long! The fierce lead guitar and drums in "Stayed Awake All Night", along with a blistering guitar solo played by Randy Bachman with a drumstick; mesmerized the crowd to the point of euphoria. They then tore into the infamous "American Woman", made famous when Randy Bachman was lead guitarist for the Guess Who back in the late 60's, early 70's. The entire crowd was singing and on their feet! Bachman-Turner hammered it home with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"; "Let it Ride"; and three teasing starts of "Takin' Care of Business," as they ended the show with an audience sing along which definitely took care of business. They delivered a performance that was worthy of and one which earned them a standing ovation!

BTO BOC FOGHAT DESTROY COLUMBUS killer show!!!!!!!

by shatotay on 7/29/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Spectacular night of blazing, guitar driven rock and roll!!! Foghat opened up with a killer set, Blue Oyster Cult was next up and , as always, delivered the goods. Bachman Turner headlined and they were tight. Amazing show by all 3 bands!!! I can't emphasize enough how great these guys sounded. There was a large crowd on hand and I think everyone went home happy.

    Rock legends at a bargain!

by DougnFrankie on 7/29/14Celeste Center - Columbus

Seeing pretty much any band for $28 bucks a head is a bargain, but when its 3 bands - AND the 3 bands are legends of rock - it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Foghat still has it...that driving rock that made them famous. After about an hour show with Foghat, it was hard to imagine that the night could get better, but it did. Blue Oyster Cult hit the stage next, sounding just like they did in the day. Watching them onstage reminded me of how musically intricate they are, especially when compared to the electronic-enhanced music of today. Their guitar work was outstanding, and the voices are still smooth as silk. Finally, Bachman & Turner took the stage. Although they were clearly older and moving a little slower, they still know how to rock. All in all, it was a great show!
