BACHMAN & TURNER IN CONCERT:

Canadian classic rock heroes Bachman & Turner are back on the road in 2014, treating fans to marathon sets of nostalgic hits like "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and "Let It Ride." The duo rose to international superstardom in the '70s as Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and although they've dropped the "overdrive" from their name in the new millennium, they haven't lost any of their hard-charging spark. Amid rumors that they'll be performing their seminal 1974 album Not Fragile end-to-end on their 2014 tour dates, gearheads from coast to coast are lining up for a chance to catch these legends in concert.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

After rising to prominence with The Guess Who in the '60s, guitarist Randy Bachman formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive with singer Fred Turner in the early '70s. While their eponymous 1973 debut album was a moderate success, it was sophomore album Bachman-Turner Overdrive II that really put them on the map, generating huge sales in the US and Canada thanks to hit singles "Taking Care of Business" and "Let It Ride." Third album Not Fragile was an even bigger success, topping the Billboard 200 and producing classic rock standard "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." Reunited in 2010 as Bachman & Turner, the duo continue to record and tour, with a handful of highly anticipated appearances scheduled for 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"...Bachman and Turner rocked out...these two guys are still fantastic after all these years. Turners voice is so authentic and Randy's guitar playing is unbelievable.”

"These guys have gotten better with age. The show was outstanding! Music played just like you remember and the crowd was on their feet!"

"...one heck of a great concert. Randy played that guitar ..... Just WOW. His vocals were perfect. Turner played great... They looked like they were having fun and the crowd responded with standing ovations."

    Bachman A Canadian Gem

by bellajet36 on 10/2/11Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Going there to see Paul Rogers was the main intent...........Bachman ...Turner indifferent...then to my surprise Bachman Turner blew me away.......with a great band....Turner rockin out on vocals(is he 68?) shaming many half his age....and then Randy Bachman who we all forget is a great guitar player....playing blistering melodic diverse solos....what a treat ....the solos were sometimes quite long but never boring or over the top...he is still a music lover with the enthusism of a teenage boy from the praires......a true Canadian Rocker who gave us so many great songs ..... Paul Rogers who was my main interest was great...he could sing the phonebook and it would be moving.....he plays the show by the book ,bringing out the hits with a very strong band and giving the people what they want. Having seen him before I found this performance somewhat underwhelming due to the sound.......The sound through the second half......not happening! At that level it should always be ON from every aspect.( They should have borrowed Bachman's sound tech.).But Paul and the boys muddled through( a surprisingly short set) to cheers of the fans..................All and all an enjoyable night ....one to recommend mainly for Bachman and the boys....

Paul Rodgers is just the best

by perilous on 10/2/11Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Bachman and Turner's music was wonderful, but they lacked audience connection. Paul's voice is just the best and his varied talents with all instruments bring such energy to audience and the band. Very high quality band members! Paul connects to the audience and shows he cares about his fans, much more so than Bachman and Turner. I just wish Paul had been at the backstage event, even for a few minutes.

    Not enough B&T

    by disappointed1950 on 9/27/11MTS Centre - Winnipeg

My husband and I were very disappointed. Although the 2 warm up bands were good, we were there to see B&T. Their sets were shorter than the other 2. The changeover was lengthy and seemed amateurish. The evening was too long. The venue was too cold, and the seats were too hard.

    Bachman & Turner were Awesome!

by Popps on 9/13/11Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

It was great to See Bachman & Turner together again. Fred Turner can still sing and he cranked it out for a few songs. There was some great guitar playing in the show and the band put it together well. Paul Rodgers put on a really good show as you can see in his enthusiasm while he performs.

Bachman and Turner (with Paul Rogers)

by Liz2T on 9/12/11Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Two amazing bands in one night - terrific! Enjoyed both bands playing some oldies and some new songs. My one disappoint was the hour long concert by Bachman and Turner, albeit far from their control given how long the opening singer took and then the taking down and setting up of equipment inbetween. Otherwise, a great time was had! On another note, my daughter spoke with security about the butthead sitting beside me who was agitated and in a fighting mood because people ahead of us wouldn't sit down. Security did nothing. Making their presence known by standing in the aisle might have been a preventative measure. They didn't even notice that his agitated mood was perhaps from what he snorted. Does security protect the band(s), or both the band(s) and audience?

Great - could have been even better

by RuffCo on 9/12/11Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Paul Rodgers held his own - almost a 90 minute set and he still missed playing some of his great Bad Company songs like "Rock Steady" and "The Way I Choose" . Bachman-Turner played every hit that I knew, so overall, a pretty satisfying concert.

Nothing short of amazing!!! MUST SEE!!!

by atcwanab on 9/12/11Western Fair Grandstand - London

First of all, you have to understand the importance of this reunion. Randy Bachman and Fred Turner haven't been together in this capacity in 20 years give or take. This is a reunion that the die hard fans have been dreaming of for years. But, they are not just rehashing old songs. We were lucky enough to get a new album with a few great cuts! This show was amazing from the opening note of "Roll On Down The Highway" to the last beat of "Takin Care Of Business". They played every hit in between. Fred's voice is still there and Randy's playing has only improved. It gave me goosebumps to hear them together again. Simply put, this is a MUST SEE show for any BTO or Randy Bachman fan.

best show attended in a long time

by atcwanab on 8/15/11Rock The Rapids - Grand Rapids

These guys are great. I have waited my entire life to see these guys get back together again. They put on a great sounding show, true to the original songs, and they have a darn good time doing it. You can tell! Fred's voice is still spot on and Randy still plays and sounds great! They play a few songs of their new cd, but it's mostly BTO hits. You won't leave dissapointed!!!!!!

    Bachman Turner still Rocks!!!!!!!!

by JimR1959 on 10/19/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

What a fun and great show. Randy Bachman and Fred turner still have it. They played all of BTO hits, along with American Woman. They also have a new CD out which they played a few songs,,,we were so impressed we bought the new CD. We go to several live shows a year, and this one ranks up high,,,especially with a smaller venue, and the sound and accoustics were great. Would definitely go see them again in the future!!
