Saw Babyface in Tampa, Florida and without question this is one of the finest r&b live shows I have ever seen - and trust me I have seen many. Like fine wine, he gets better with time. In addition to being an excellent guitarist in his own right, he also has written songs that surely are the soundtracks of our lives from the 80's to current day. He not only did songs from his career as a singer like: "Everytime I Close My Eyes", "For The Cool In You"and the obligatory tear the house down "Whip Appeal", but he also did "Sweet November"from his days with The Deele, and a killer medley of songs that he has written, co-written and/or produced on other artists like: "Slow Jam"by Midnight Star, "Rock Steady"by The Whispers, "Superwoman"by Karyn White, "Every Little Step"by Bobby Brown, "Mt, My, My"by Johnny Gill, "Can We Talk"by Tevin Campbell, "Ready Or Not"by After 7, "End Of The Road"by Boyz II Men, "Baby, Baby, Baby"by TLC, "Sitting Up In My Room"by Brandy, "Love Shoulda Brought You Home"by Toni Braxton, "Not Gon' Cry"by Mary J. Blige and "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)"by Whitney Houston. He boldly opened the show this night with "Change The World", a song he produced on Eric Clapton. His band was excellent as their arrangements and execution was spot on. The sax player really stood out as did the bass player. There was also really nice choreography from his background singer, who all shined when they had their moment in the spotlight. He may seem shy when you see him on tv or doing interviews, but Babyface comes all the way live on stage. I highly recommend you see this show if it comes your town or anywhere near you,
