About

Drawing comparisons to André 3000 for his eccentricity and versatility as a rapper, singer, writer and producer, B.o.B. is a six-time Grammy nominee set to release his third album Underground Luxury in 2013. Born Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. in Decatur, Georgia in 1988, he played trumpet and other instruments in grade school, later receiving a keyboard from his parents that he began producing beats on. By the time he was in high school, he had already secured management and sold his first beat at the age of 15. He signed to Atlantic and its imprint Rebel Rock in 2007, and released six mixtapes and two EPs before putting out his debut studio album The Adventures of Bobby Ray in April 2010, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Three of its six singles, including "Nothin’ on You" with Bruno Mars, "Airplane" feat. Hayley Williams, and "Magic" with Rivers Cuomo were top ten U.S. hits. He also won a Soul Train Music Award and Teen Choice Award in 2010. B.o.B’s second album Strange Clouds was released in May 2012, spawning three platinum-selling singles "So Good", "Both of Us" with Taylor Swift, and the title track feat. Lil Wayne, and again reaching No. 1 on the charts. B.o.B has played concerts for ticket buyers across the globe, and toured with A$AP Rocky, Cee Lo, Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa.

you haven't heard B.o.B til you see him live!

by kavakahn on 5/7/14St Joseph Civic Arena - St Joseph

I listen to B.o.B loud every single morning. Recordings are great, but seeing him perform live was taking his magic to a higher level of transcendence. The crowd was into the songs, and he even brought Playboy Tre with him. I expected every seat to sell out, but it was so awesome anyway. The entire next day all I could think about was going to this same show again and see it over!! I drove over 90 miles (from lawrence, ks) and rented a hotel room across the street to attend. I've never been on a plane, but I truly know that B.o.B is an artist, and after seeing him in St. Joe, I'd hop a plane and fly anywhere to watch him again. Anybody that like his music, you got to see him live. Amazing.

He was on stage for less than an hour. I was really a fan of his first album and any song he performed off of it, he only did a verse or two. And he pulled girls up on stage to twerk...I mean really? Absolute waste of my time, money, and energy.

    B.o.B @Redlands University Fallfest 2013

by TommyHocutt on 9/26/13University of Redlands - Redlands

Had a blast! Don't normally go to college sanctioned concerts, but this was literally the best concert I've been to. The openings acts were enjoyable & very entertaining (compared to usually being very bad at other shows) and B.o.B played for what seemed like an hour & 1/2. The crowd was hyped and the people very extremely friendly (mostly Redlands students). B.o.B played just about every major song he has and the live performance sounded like CDQ. Definitely would recommend seeing him perform elsewhere or even just seeing an act in general at UofR. The amphitheater is very nice for a college campus, and seated a lot of people. There was plenty of standing room too to make your way to the front of the stage. Got close enought that he pointed me out in the crowd for wearing a Dolphins hat (he's from ATL - who they played that following Sunday) and we briefly talked some friendly trash to one another. He even brought Playboy Tre out for a two song set and to help perform some of his features on B.o.B's songs. Overall, a great experience. Check out @bobatl's Instagram to see some of the concert footage. P.S. If the girl I met from Seattle there reads this, you were super chill & dope too!

concerts were great but i want a refund

by shaneswag13 on 9/8/13Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

I enjoyed all the concerts whether i knew their songs or not. I mainly went to see MGK and his performance was phenomenal!! However, I bought meet and greet tickets and was never informed of when or where that was being held at the event. After watching all the concerts i was informed by an event staff person that meet and greet was by a tent so i proceeded to the tent and asked someone else where it was and she informed me that they had sent an email explaining meet and greet times prior to the concert and that i missed my chance. I was extremely pissed because this was the first time i had bought meet and greets and the fact that they are so unclear with instructions for those who pay almost double or more than the price of others is very inconsiderate. I want my money back or another set of meet and greets for MGK. I find it ridiculous that they didnt either just send the times with the tickets or even inform me that there was an email coming about it.

    MGK ALL THE WAY

by Haannn on 9/4/13Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Powerfest was an amazing concert! It may have been a B.O.B concert but I was there to support MGK, as was everyone else. He may have only been on stage for 35 minutes, but it was the 35 minutes ever. Also, I don't know why venues won't host MGK his own show, but they're wrong for not giving him a chance. His movement is so inspiring and if you don't know about it then you need to learn about it. This concert was perfect and the event staff were very nice as well. If anyone ever gets the chance to go to Powerfest or see MGK in concert, don't think twice about it.

Great show! Not so great staff

by CarliLynn4812 on 9/4/13Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

I had such a great time at this event. Only issue is that I got VIP tickets to meet MGK and got an email saying I would get a phone call to let me know what time. Then when I got there I asked the staff what to do and they said they would announce when we would go meet him and they never did. So we tried talking to someone and they said we missed our chance. Definitely disappointing. But overall great show and performers.

    MGK was standout

by 30sec2mars on 9/4/13Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

I took my 14 yr old daughter to this concert and was thinking it might be a long night because I don't listen to rap very often. I was pleasantly surprised with the concert and particularly liked MGK and Ace Hood. BOB was ok. Didn't really like any of the other multiple openers and their were plenty. This many openers only allowed the main 2 acts only 35 minutes each which I thought was pretty short. But my daughter loved it and was a great memory for us.

    B.o.B. has my respect!

by SteveSpellmon on 11/11/12Tuscaloosa Amphitheater - Tuscaloosa

It was close to 40 degrees outside, and B.o.B. still rocked the amphitheater! He's a really talented rapper and quite a performer. I had a lot of fun at his concert. He rapped so hard in the cold; I was surprised his voice could take it. My throat hurt from shouting in the cold.

wish i was writing a review for b.o.b

by Anonymous on 11/18/11Wild Bills - Duluth

we left at 2:00 am and had still not seen b.o.b... instead we had to listen to terrible dj's and the yellow boys. gorilla zoe was the only good thing that came of the night. apparently b.o.b showed up for 10 minutes. i dont blame him because it was his birthday, but i wish i would've known what i was paying for before i drove two and a half hours. b.o.b would've been great, i've seen him live before, but the concert i saw was awful

They pumped it up like it was a concert but it went thru like a normal club event... The promo team fooled me... No more "concerts" at the club. only reason why I'm some what happy is because Roscoe Dash was perform.. of course B.o.B went in for the 5-7 mins. he was on stage...

    B.O.B was amazing!

by HonestAbraham on 4/7/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

The crowd was responsive. Bob was legit. I would go again any day. The only problem was waiting. He didn't play until 9 or so and the concert started at 730. The opening guy put us to sleep. He was very like maroon 5. He wasn't bad, I just didn't go to a hip hop concert to listen to a white guy singing falsetto with an acoustic. It was worth the wait though. I'd do it 100 more times.
