About

Drawing comparisons to André 3000 for his eccentricity and versatility as a rapper, singer, writer and producer, B.o.B. is a six-time Grammy nominee set to release his third album Underground Luxury in 2013. Born Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. in Decatur, Georgia in 1988, he played trumpet and other instruments in grade school, later receiving a keyboard from his parents that he began producing beats on. By the time he was in high school, he had already secured management and sold his first beat at the age of 15. He signed to Atlantic and its imprint Rebel Rock in 2007, and released six mixtapes and two EPs before putting out his debut studio album The Adventures of Bobby Ray in April 2010, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Three of its six singles, including "Nothin’ on You" with Bruno Mars, "Airplane" feat. Hayley Williams, and "Magic" with Rivers Cuomo were top ten U.S. hits. He also won a Soul Train Music Award and Teen Choice Award in 2010. B.o.B’s second album Strange Clouds was released in May 2012, spawning three platinum-selling singles "So Good", "Both of Us" with Taylor Swift, and the title track feat. Lil Wayne, and again reaching No. 1 on the charts. B.o.B has played concerts for ticket buyers across the globe, and toured with A$AP Rocky, Cee Lo, Rihanna and Wiz Khalifa.

Unforgettable night. B.o.B rocked the stage and made me and my girlfriend get out of our seats and dance. He was great, along with playboy tre.

You couldn't outmatch the energy he brought to the arena and the passion he sang his songs with. By far the best concert I have ever been a part of. He even jumped into my upper deck section and started a mosh pit!

    Black History Month Concert

    by Jeff024 on 2/28/11O'Connell Center - Gainesville

The 3 hottest up and coming MC's together on stage was history!!!! I'm glad I was a part of it. Playboy Tre starting off the concert was great. He always hypes up the crowd. J. Cole coming on after him was a great idea. He brung the house down and set the tone for the rest of the concert. Wale joining him was pure history! Wale was a great crowd pleaser since he was in the stands. Gotta Love It!!!! B.o.B. closing out the night was great as well. Most people left due to the late timing but he was a great closer. The lighting of the stage was kind of bad. My camera could not focus on the action due to it being so dim. The runway stage into the crowd was pretty cool too. The only thing that bothered me was that the main floor was empty. Only 100-150 people sat down there. Everyone else was far way in the stands. Overall, it was was a great line-up of music that will be in my memories forever. Thanks UF for putting that together!!

    Couldn't hear B.o.B.

by bignoise on 2/28/11O'Connell Center - Gainesville

    J. Cole was the best performer of the night. Wale was a bit too repetitive. You couldn't hear B.o.B. over the over the top Bass volume. People (even those WAAAAY younger) were leaving the Odome in a flood, saying that they wanted to stay but the sound quality stunk because of the bass. B.o.B. didn't spend much time for his set, either. It seemed like maybe Wale stayed a bit longer, because B.o.B. wasn't ready yet?

    J. Cole should have been headliner

by Grantyice on 2/28/11O'Connell Center - Gainesville

Playboy tre started it nicely, j. Cole cameout and killed it completely, Wale continued on J. Cole's energy, then B.o.B came out..... He was absolutely terrible, his mic was too quiet, music was too loud, and he sounded awful. J. Cole and wale 5 stars, playboy tre 2 stars, B.o.B 2 stars. Wale and J. Cole highly recommended!

Far East Movement killed it. B.o.B. not so much

by Gollish on 2/16/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

The opener AND Far East Movement killed it-- we were all out of our seats rocking away. B.o.B.-- well, maybe he was a bit tired or nervous for the Grammy's, but he kind of blew it.

    Nothing special

by mrmusic12345 on 2/14/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

If you're a die hard B.O.B. fan, you probably enjoyed this show a lot more than I did. But for those of you looking for a great concert, this isn't it. There was nothing special or unique. The opening acts were horrible. The end of the show was great, but unless I was daydreaming I don't remember seeing the "special guest" as advertised. B.O.B. is a great performer but I wouldn't just to recommend this concert to anyone. Also, it felt like the breaks were longer than the showtime and I was late...

    B.O.B. got DOWN!!!!

by zapopan79 on 2/14/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

My wife and I took our kids. We found a an open spot to stand up against with a descent view. Far East Movement was great, but didn't play too long. B.O.B. put on a great show. He played a variety of music that appealed to everyone in the crowd base on everyone's reaction and participation!

The 10th anniversary was awesome!!! I thought all the performers except Marina's Trench (too screamo for me) was amazing. My only complaint was that i didn't know there was a meet and great with the performers before the show, or else i would have showed up earlier, I think Radio Now 100.9 should have advertised info a little better. But the actual event its self was Awesome!!!

    SANTA SLAM!!

by achance101 on 12/7/10Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

We had to wait about 20 minutes past the time the show was going to start only because someone had messed with the sound equipment and they had to fix it. We also went for B.O.B. and Mike Posner. Those two concerts were awesome! We didn't know who the other two acts were. But it was still enjoyable!

Mike Posner always delivers. He is a great performer and really gets into his shows, which makes the fans get excited too. B.O.B did great, and was very enthusiastic also.
