    AWB nailed it!

    by jamaster123 on 10/1/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

The only possible negative was the absence of a larger horn section, they had "only' (LOL) their sax god working his magic. That dude is one of the best I've ever heard and shurely the best I've seen live. Other than that, the whole show pretty much kicked ass stem to stern! These guys are the personification of rhythm & blues. They played everything in their repituar and more. There was an adult version of a mosh pit going from the moment they opened the show. The sound mix person did a great job as well. Considering how many different instruments a couple band members play during the show that's not so easy. I was totally spent by the time it ended! Can't wait 'till next time!

    Awesome!

by footballjunkiedog on 10/1/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

This band hasn't lost a beat in all these years. Wish we could have dance the night away. Great sound as usual in the Alladin and even better crowd. Can't wait until they come around again, hopefully next year.

    AWB at The Canyon

by DJL7 on 9/24/09The Canyon - Agoura Hills

AWB was great! There were 10 of us in our party and we all had a blast. This is an intimate venue for any show.

WAR the band, what are they good for, MUSIC babe!

by Jazmo on 7/27/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

Absolutely fabulous concert, my very first after listening for years almost 30 of WAR and Average White Band. The sound of both groups is the absolute same as listening to the C D, however, the live experience added another dimension and seeing the enjoyment of the audience participating and dancing to the music just made this night incredible. If the concert was available the following night we would have attended the concert again. Thanks to WAR and Average White Band. Real music presented with passion and dedication. My husband has been a fan from the start and I believe he is the biggest fan. Thanks for continuing these past 30 + years with the same integrity.

    AWB was in top form!

by Foxie on 7/26/09Tralf - Buffalo

Show was excellent, Tralf needs some major clean up that building is absolutely filthy. And the wait time to see them was over 3 hours, WAY too long. But once the show kicked off they were fabulous.

    Most entertaining concert, EVER !!!!!!!

by loftisband on 7/25/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

My wife and I had never attended a concert at Chastain Park until the AWB/War concert on July 22. We were totally blown away by the park, the event staff, the very interesting and entertaining audience and most importantly, the high energy and level of performance by the two bands. It is absolutely incredible to hear and see real musicians playing real instruments and displaying real talent. The level of musicianship demonstrated by the bands was absolutely amazing. Anyone leaving this concert disappointed had to be mentally incapable of having a great time. We will definitely come back again and again. Great seats (row H center), great venue/staff, great audience, great bands, GREAT EVENING!!!

    Good Show

by bomicadelic on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

AWB was excellent, especially when they performed "A Love Of Your Own". But the timing was off for War. It appears that Chastain Park Amphitheater must stop performances at 11:00 PM. So the show should've started at 7:00 PM instead of 8:00 PM to give WAR more time on stage. It seemed like they were only on stage for about an hour, so that was disappointing, but it was still a good show.

Take me back to the 70's!!

by DeeAndDee2 on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

We soooo enjoyed reliving the music of Average White Band and War last night. They both still have what it takes to bring an audience to their feet and keep 'em there throughout the show! It was absolutely fantastic! I want to go buy CD's of their "old" music 'cause that's when "music was music!"

    AWB & WAR Long Overdue

by KDofGeorgia on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

I'm so glad they made it back to Atlanta. The music was great. The audience was into it themselves; it is something I will cherish.

I loved the old school rock! There is no sound out there to this date like either AWB or War. They are the best-est!

    True Artists!

by LLBean on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

Missed most of Average White Band due to traffic, but truly enjoyed WAR. Great to see true musicians that allow you to hear and enjoy each of their instruments.:)

    WAR was disappointing

by JuliaC on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

AWB played their music and gave the audience what we came to hear. WAR was very self-indulgent & turned each of their songs into an extended jam session. I have the best of WAR album, and the only songs that I heard, by the time we departed at 10:45, were Cisco Kid, Low Rider, and Why Can't We Be Friends. There was a very long song "for the ladies in the audience" that was so drawn out and boring that the entire audience sat down and hardly applauded. I have no idea what this song was titled and no remembrance of the melody since there did not appear to be a melody. I wanted to applaude that it was finally over. When we left, a lengthy introduction of the seven band members was in progress, with each displaying their skills in solo fashion. When I pay a minimum of $200 to $250 for four tickets to a concert, I want to hear the songs that put the group on the charts, and I want to hear the songs in a presentation that resembles the recording. These guys need to take the cue from Chicago, Foreigner, Styx, Journey, REO, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Stones, Pink Floyd, Heart, Pat Benatar, Pet Shop Boys, Bruce Spreensteen, Bob Segar . . . . all of who present their music as we know it and don't mess around with it to the point that it becomes barely recognizable. I have seen many of the preceding groups several times and try to see them whenever they are in Atlanta. I am sorry that I spent the money and time attending this concert. For my group of four, it was very disappointing.

AWB and War were better than I remember!

by 60soldhead on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

AWB started on time and played many of their hits and singles off of their new album which sounds like it's worth buying (not to mention the environmentally favorable "green" packaging). War was great as well, although the lead/original group member was a bit full of himself. The music quality was great and songs like Baby Brother and Slipping Into Darkness brought back of slew of memories from the 70s long forgotten!

    AWB & WAR

by cmbp on 7/23/09Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO - Atlanta

AWB was OUTSTANDING I would go asee them again. Now WAR was good but I would not go an see them again. AWB sung songs with very little talking. WAR leader talked alot and did not sign the song WAR! what's up with that!
