New Orleans R&B singer/songwriter August Alsina's debut single "I Luv This Sh*t" was all over the radio in late 2013, reaching the top of Billboard's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart after a 21-week climb. Alsina may be new to the game, but he's already attracting high-level attention – R&B superstar R. Kelly tapped Alsina to open for him on some of his 2013 live tour dates, so the young star has already found himself playing concerts to arena-sized crowds. As a headliner, Alsina established himself as a formidable performer at raucous club dates and radio station showcases in 2013, impressing ticket buyers with a confidence that belied his relatively recent arrival. The hip-hop crooner's career has been on the fast track since he released his first mixtape The Product in April of 2012. A second mixtape, dubbed The Product 2 was released a year later, followed soon after by his first Def Jam Records EP Downtown: Life Under the Gun. In a report on one of Alsina's 2013 shows, The New York Daily News wrote that he "had ladies in the front row clawing at him as he rocked the stage."
I love the show. Love you August Alsina. It was nice meeting you.
Enjoyed August Alsina. I didn't enjoy the hour wait between the opening acts and August though
Opening acts were good and were great build ups to August.
I loved the concert. August is a true entertainer.
August put on a good show to be as sick as he was.
The show was good, but there was a almost 45 minute break between shows and that wasn't necessary. August looked good but really thin. He sounded great and even danced a little....
It was long and well worth it to see him I would do it again.
Had a GREAT TIME @ the August Alsina concert!! Loved it & enjoyed meeting him too!!
This is probably the most unique concerts! Not only did he perform for the ladies he continuously wanted to make sure the guys in the crowd did not regret being there. He kept the house lights on for a good chunk of time and reminding not only the bottom but also the top how much he appreciated us and singled out specific outfits so we would know he was actually looking at us. The opening acts did the same acting as if they all knew us. The vibe was for all races and cultures, this event allowed us to bond in the crowd instead of drinking and arguing while waiting in between transitions and sets.
I saw him twice!!! hes wonderful definitely can sing he don't dance really but he has dancers. I haven't heard him sing of of TTCL yet. I wanted to see him oct 22 but he cancelled the event when i bought a front row VIP ticket :/. That pissed me off but I'll be at the next one!!!
Im really glad he was my first concert experience. So far ive went to 2 August Alsina concerts and i just purchased tickets for my 3rd. He is truly amazing and he gives you 100% of him while he is on stage. i have no complaints! he sung songs from his E.P and he also performed almost his whole album (Testimony). I look fwd to attending more of his concerts!
Seriously the best night ever!!! I love August and his music! His band was off the chain too.
It was definitely an unforgettable night!! August is super sexy!!!
Regrettably August Couldn't make it which is fine he was ill but the other artists came late and we spent and hour and a half listening to a DJ play the same songs over and over, Kcam came and did all of 4 songs and it took another 30 minutes for Juicy J to get there and 10 minutes for him to come out and perform.
I didn't even go to the concert so I basically wasted $62.00. I feel as though the ones that purchased tickets for this event should have been given a choice to either receive their money back for the tickets or a credit. With August Alsina not performing I don't think it was very fair not to be given that chance. I purchased the tickets to see him not someone else. I understand he was sick but regardless of that I didn't buy the tickets to see anyone else. Also no one was even made aware of who would be taking his place which I don't think was very fair either. Pretty disappointing to lose money and not see August Alsina perform either. Just a total waste!
I understand what happened to August and they had to replace him. But the unknown acts was terrible and the wait was too long. The artist need to arrive ON TIME. Plus they basically played music the entire time. I wanted a SHOW
Amazing. Tripped out a bit but probably one of the best concerts ever haha
Show was great it was like the best club party you ever went to. The DJ was great and had crowd moving. I was sad it ended early tho because August fainted but I want to go again for sure!!!!!!!!
August is such a great performer..I love watching him on stage...His voice is amazing...and let's not forget how much he loves his fans..
Great great show!! I absolutely loved August Alsina and his performance. Teyanna Taylor did good as well
