About
New Orleans R&B singer/songwriter August Alsina's debut single "I Luv This Sh*t" was all over the radio in late 2013, reaching the top of Billboard's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart after a 21-week climb. Alsina may be new to the game, but he's already attracting high-level attention – R&B superstar R. Kelly tapped Alsina to open for him on some of his 2013 live tour dates, so the young star has already found himself playing concerts to arena-sized crowds. As a headliner, Alsina established himself as a formidable performer at raucous club dates and radio station showcases in 2013, impressing ticket buyers with a confidence that belied his relatively recent arrival. The hip-hop crooner's career has been on the fast track since he released his first mixtape The Product in April of 2012. A second mixtape, dubbed The Product 2 was released a year later, followed soon after by his first Def Jam Records EP Downtown: Life Under the Gun. In a report on one of Alsina's 2013 shows, The New York Daily News wrote that he "had ladies in the front row clawing at him as he rocked the stage."

Amazing Performer!!
by Sweetness007 on 9/16/14House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5August Alsina is an amazing performer, he's humble & appreciates his fans & it shows. I've been to a lot of concerts & the recation he gets just off a performance is impressive. I intend to always go see him if he's close, you may listen to his music, but until you see him live, you have no idea, your missing out.
He was amazing until he collapsed :(
by Ayo620 on 9/16/14Irving Plaza - New York CityRating: 4 out of 5I def want to see him again because from what I saw he was great! Sounded great, interacted with the audience, had the crowd hyped etc. Band sounded good too. I would have given 5 stars but the concert was cut short since he collapsed offstage, which is understandable. I'm still starstruck!
August Alsina was sooooo amazing!!!!!!!!

Show was awesome.....the energy was crazy! The only thing I would change was that it was boring in between the two acts.....the dj could have done a better job keeping us hype for the show.
great singer!
by mrsjones0915 on 9/12/14The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5I loved the show. I had a cold and didn't want to go but I went and he was amazing. He's interactive with the audience and his voice is great! Would definitely see him again!

My sister had an amazing time! She will be going to every August concert he has in our area from now on!
Highly Disappointed
by MrsERWD on 9/10/14The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5The biggest concern I had with the August Alsina concert was that there was no regard for time. The concert did not start on time and with there only being one special guest, August Alsina did not come out on stage until 10pm. After the special guest performed, we waited an hour for the featured guest. Due to the long wait time, some of the young ladies started getting sick and had to be taken out. The situation could have been worse, thank goodness it wasn't.
August Alsina
by BrayS on 9/10/14The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5He is a excellent performer but he took over a hour to come out. That was not cool. The Venue it self was hot as hell kitchen in Thanksgiving.
August Alsina showed up and showed out!

August Alsina
by Morgan23 on 8/28/14House of Blues Sunset Strip - West HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5The concert was great!!! August Alsina was everything I thought he would be and more. He's such a cutie. Although I knew that the House of Blues was a standing venue, it was so crowded that I couldn't move. People were getting upset when someone touched or bumped into them. The House of Blues should only sell enough tickets where the crowd can still be comfortable.
LOVED THE SHOW
by TQQT on 8/28/14CLUB RED - MESARating: 5 out of 5AUGUST ALSINA & TEYANNA TAYLOR DID THAT IT WAS A GREAT SHOW DEFINITELY THE WAIT WAS WELL WORTH IT

by TraciTrace on 8/23/14House of Blues Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5It was the best concert ever in life! August looked great, he sang even better. His band was on point. It was a sold out show. The venue was wonderful. I will never forget this experience. I think I'm in love with August now. I came from LA just to see him and it was well worth trip. Thank you August.
August Alsina Concert
by Splasha on 8/7/14The Guvernment - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5I really loved his performance, he's such a good singer and performer, I just wished it could've been at the ACC so we could've seen him perform longer because the concert was a bit short, it's like we waited for him for a long time and when he came we got so excited And he did shut it down but I wanted to hear all the songs on his testimony album but he just performed a couple, still happy and grateful that I saw him but I just wanted to hear more

I will never go to a concert at the Guvernment! The original post stated it was a concert and it was FAR from that. He came in stage for 10-15 mins & that was it. It was a regular club party & he just happened to sing. Worst experience ever!!
Amazing !
by YoungBea on 7/4/14Howard theatre. - DcRating: 5 out of 5He was amazing ! I went to his concert in Dc at the Howard theatre. He looks soo good in person. He seems like a good guy and he's funny. I'm going to another concert of his in silver spring Maryland. I think I have a slight obsession with him. Lol but I enjoyed the concert.
Terrible
by Anonymous on 6/12/14Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5I decided to attend this show after purchasing August' CD as a form of support, but this was a huge mistake. Doors opened at 7, show started at 8 but August didn't come on until about 10:30-10:45ish. As we waited for August, there were about 7 (yes, SEVEN) different opening acts. Five of them were local and the other 2 were August' official openers, I'm assuming. I paid my money to see August not 7 other people, so this was a huge disappointment. When August FINALLY came out, his DJ announced he would be on stage for the next 30, (THIRTY; T H I R T Y) minutes and I wanted to scream. I just watched 7 people perform and you not only come out late, but only give us a 30 minute, 5 song show? I thought this was a terrible joke, but it wasn't. Out of the 5 songs that he did perform, I thought the selection was pretty weak and it just wasn't worth it. On top of that, this show was full of teeny boppers, the venue didn't check bags (which is always a concern in a big city), and someone was in there smoking weed like we were at a Bob Marley show. August can SANGGGG, but I doubt I'll ever pay money to see him again.
