About

New Orleans R&B singer/songwriter August Alsina's debut single "I Luv This Sh*t" was all over the radio in late 2013, reaching the top of Billboard's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart after a 21-week climb.  Alsina may be new to the game, but he's already attracting high-level attention – R&B superstar R. Kelly tapped Alsina to open for him on some of his 2013 live tour dates, so the young star has already found himself playing concerts to arena-sized crowds. As a headliner, Alsina established himself as a formidable performer at  raucous club dates and radio station showcases in 2013, impressing ticket buyers with a confidence that belied his relatively recent arrival. The hip-hop crooner's career has been on the fast track since he released his first mixtape The Product in April of 2012. A second mixtape, dubbed The Product 2 was released a year later, followed soon after by his first Def Jam Records EP Downtown: Life Under the Gun. In a report on one of Alsina's 2013 shows, The New York Daily News wrote that he "had ladies in the front row clawing at him as he rocked the stage."

Need to see if you're an August fan!!

by majulius on 8/28/17Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I have been waiting to see him since his last tour was cut short and I was definitely not disappointed. Traveled six hours from Wisconsin to Indianapolis to see him and I would do it again. The only disappointment was that his DJ went a little long so I think he cut his set list a bit short (compared to what I saw after the concert from other YouTube videos of him live this tour), but he still packed a lot of content and great music in the concert!!!

    Great Show!

by ddestini on 8/25/17Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

August Alsina is so talented. He kept the audience engaged and hyped! He even had a moment in the show which lasted about 5-10 minutes giving praise to God with his powerful singng it was so beautiful and to see the crowd participating during that time was great to be apart of. I had a very nice time and I have to mention one important thing. I had the meet and greet VIP after the show. August is so laid back. Not 1 person in line was rushed to take a pic with him or say hi to move on to the next. He displayed love to his fans and took his time. He engaged with them and when I had an emotional moment after seeing him, he waited for me to get myself together, he took off his sunglasses to look at me when I said I will look bad in photo from crying. With his shades off he looked me in the face and said I still look beautiful and we took the photo. I would def see him in concert again. He has a beautiful soul and I will continue to be a fan!

    Opening Acts Were Better!

by Nanabree on 8/23/17Summit Music Hall - Denver

I missed the Chicago concert, so I flew out to see Tone Stith in Denver. Romiti was good, but Tone Stith set the bar! He was a lot more entertaining than August. I almost passed out from being in the crowd and waiting a good hour for August to come out, thank god my dad was right there. But I ended up getting a picture and autograph from Tone. I don't know.. I expected a bit more from August, he didn't even acknowledge his opening acts. Kept saying " Thank you for coming to see me, and turning up for me. " But really, I was there for Tone. But overall a good show! TONE! If you're reading this, once you're on tour please make a stop in Chicago again! LOVE YOU! <3

August was 2 hrs late and when he came you could barely see or understand him. The opening acts were better than him. I was totally disappointed in his performance. Respect your fans time.

    August is boring

by Kristuvious on 8/21/17The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

August had solid vocals but absolutely no stage presence. He also had on a terrible outfit. His sexy female dancers were distracting and seemed inappropriate/a weird choice considering teenage girls made up the majority of the audience. We left early bc we were so bored. The highlight of the show was actually the opener, Tone Stith. I'd never seen him before, but he was excellent. I've been listening to his music all weekend.

I promised that I would go support August next time he came to Boston and I did! It was well worth the blisters on my toes! He is a great entertainer. I love that he sings from his soul. Despite his illness he came through and did his thing!

    August Alsina !!!!

by JRC18 on 8/13/17Theater of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I'm so happy and grateful August Alsina went on tour. I remember going to his first tour Testimony Live back in 2014 and he did a great job then. It's so nice to see how much he has grown as an artist. Don't Matter Tour was a wonderful show, I enjoyed it all. The opening acts: Rotimi and Tone Stith, both of them did a great job and I really enjoy the songs they sung. August Alsina never disappoints although we was waiting for an hour for him, his DJ kept the crowd entertained while we were waiting and when August came out, he was wonderful. I love August Alsina, he's the only celebrity I admire so much lol. Thank you so much for going back on tour August !!

    Great time.

by JCH84 on 8/11/17The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I had a really great time at this event. August is a good performer and really engaged the crowd. The venue was ideal. Not to packed, and they even have a bar/snack shop in the basement were you can sit and watch the early acts on a projection screen. Since it was a standing only venue (for the seats that I purchased) this was ideal. August's DJ really got the crowd hype before he came out and I enjoy the main performance. The early acts were ok, including Rotimi. Of the early acts Tone Stith was the best. He has a bright future.
