Amazing! Very Engaging and Personable!! I felt like I was an old friend at the end of the evening. She made me feel like I had the entire symphony in my living room. Her stories about why she picked the songs for the concert were moving and heartfelt.
Too Short. Ms. McDonald only sang for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Beautiful voice and a song selection that demonstrated some of the best songwriting from as early as 1929 to today.
The Audra McDonald show was simply magnificent. The show was a delightful adult experience and Ms. McDonald's ability to connect with the audience was outstanding. A great evening of sophistication!!!

I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to hear Audra McDonald sing at The Attucks Theater. Not only is her voice incredible, but her personality was wonderful. She was witty and charming, not to mention beautiful. When I saw her concert advertised, I immediately went on line and purchased 6 tickets. I had no idea who else was going to go but figured I could find someone. I found 5 others wishing to hear her sing and each one of us has not been able to stop talking about how wonderful she was. THank you for bringing her to this area. It was certainly a blessing!
What a pleasure it was to spend an evening with Audra. She made laugh and cry. Her songs raised so many memories and she also introduced me to wonderful new composers. Although the seats provided no legroom, once she started singing I immediately forgot about that.
Ms. McDonald has the voice of an angel! She includes humor in her performance and introduces each song with a related story. From start to finish, her rich voice captivated the audience.
Awesome show. Great venue. I would go again. I hope she comes back.

IF YOU'VE NEVER SEEN HER OR EVEN HEARD HER YOU'RE DEFINITELY MISSING ALOT..... SHES SIMPLYAMAZING I'VE LOOKED UP TO HER MUSICALLY SINCE WHO KNOWS WHEN. LIKE BEYONCE AND MICHEAL JACKSON IS TO SOME AUDRA IS THAT TO ME.. THE SONGS SHE'S SANG IVE LEARNED AND SUNG. SHE WAS THAT AND MORE I EXPECTED HER TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!! TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE AND HEAR SOMEONE SOOOOOO AMAZING LIKE THIS WOMAN.... In concert at the Gaillard Auditorium in Charleston, SC, Audra McDonald was radiant in every way possible! During this 90-minute show with no intermission, she was charming and funny in between songs from stage, screen, and The Great American Songbook. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and he only attended because I asked him to. I'd buy 2 more tickets in a skinny minute!
We attended after reading of her previous Porgy and Bess performances. None were performed at this performance.
I was disappointed that she did not sing more of Porgy and Bess-I also did not like the fact that she used a microphone-with that range she doesn't need it-the audio system was flawed-in the mezzanine her comments were almost inaudible.
Fabulous voice instrument. Great back-up trio. Audra was sweet, personable and extremely talented. Loved the story telling and audience interaction. Left feeing fully entertained.
Audra was divine! She's always been a picture of grace and elegance - this concert was no exception. Her talent flew off the stage, her timing and humor were moving - - what do you say about a lady who seemed to open up and show us her inner beauty along with all of the package we wanted to see, including showcasing new works, embracing humanity, and exquisite taste.
Great event...glad we caught the show. Classy show and the band as whole was very talented as well as surprisingly funny.
For 90 minutes, Ms. McDonald took control of the stage and dominated. Her voice is pure and beautiful, the stories she told were all enjoyable. Ms. McDonald is as beautiful as her voice and she is wonderfully personable. Not only a strong advocate for Marriage Equality, Audra is the definition of a true Broadway star.
I expected a mighty voice from a 4-time Tony Award-winning performer. What I got was an exciting & deeply enriching experience with the hilarious, moving, insightful, powerful & generous talents of Audra McDonald. Had she performed a second night I would have seen her again. One of my all-time fave concerts!
Jason Alexander introduced her as "the finest voice in theater today." I have seen Audra McDonald in concert several times, and she never ceases to amaze me. While she is a beautiful singer, it is her dramatic interpretation of songs that makes her unbelievable.
