I rate this performance 5+ Stars! I have seen Audra McDonald several times on Broadway, however never in a concert. What a treat. Her selection of songs, warmth, and wit were fabulous!
I love Audra McDonald and have seen her on Broadway and in concert before this. The song selection was enjoyable and the 'banter"was the perfect amount. On top of all that, the ticket prices were very reasonable and the Tilles Center has no bad seats.
Audra McDonald gave an inspiring performance! What a range and beautiful, powerful voice! Her added stories about her life and composers she's worked with was also very entertaining...Thrilling experience I will never forget!
As Audra pointed out, we saw her perform in Carousel 30 years ago and were blown away. She has the most magical, powerful, enchanting voice. I loved her song choices and love loved her stories between songs. What an elegant, beautiful young woman. Can t wait to see her perform again.
I have seen everything Audra McDonald has been in on Broadway since her groundbreaking role in Ragtime. She is truly a national treasure. My only complaint about her concert at the Tillis Center on Friday night is that she didn't include a song from Ragtime. I loved what she sang (and you'd never know she had a cold) but was disappointed in the omission. Next time please.
One word sums it up WOW!!! She was terrific. and let the audience into her life.
Audra was fabulous....the venue had some trouble getting us all into the building in a smooth and timely fashion. Long line outside in the cold....very odd
What a lovely evening bought last minute tickets The show the choice of music the inspirational messages left me in a state of bliss ! Highly recommend you seeing this very talented singer
Mrs. McDonald, strode out on stage and sang. She took her time and entertained us for 90 minutes straight. She was enthralling. Her demeanor was as if we were guests in her home. Her voice was powerful and clear. Her tone is exquisite and her delivery energetic and sincere. Even as someone who doesn't know a lot of show tunes I was captivated throughout the show.
This woman is amazing! She is so gifted in numerous areas. Yet, she came off like the favorite neighbor that you want over for coffee every morning. She is beautiful in every way!
