Penn's Peak is a wonderful venue! I will be going back often!
This was my 2nd time seeing Asleep at the Wheel and my only regret is not starting sooner. They put on a great show covering of course Bob Wills, Waylon, Willie, and more. My favorite song of the night had to be “Dublin Blues” can’t wait to see them again!
The band was great - easily the tightest I've ever heard. (Surprising, only in that they were the most talented individually, as well- but everyone was in service of the whole sound...) I drove two hours down from Baltimore, through the rush hour rain, and doubt I will ever do that again, despite loving the Birchmere - Thank goodness Asleep At The Wheel made it a remarkable experience!!
First time seeing AATW. I’m a Bob Wills fan, so I enjoyed it! Venue was comfortable, and the food was good.
Loved every minute! So glad Asleep at the Wheel is still rollin’ and sounding terrific!
AATW never disappoints. I first saw this band for a .50 cover at Soap Creek Saloon in Austin, TX back in '73-'74. The legacy of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys lives on with Ray and the band. At a time when most music is- to put it the nicest way possible- garbage, it's refreshing that several traditional bands are still around. My girlfriend had never seen the group and was most impressed not only with the music, but also the rapport between the band and the audience.
Music and singing was great, Kate can play that fiddle. The whole group of musicians were pros.
Totally enjoyed them and their music! Very upbeat & fun! Loved the variety of the instruments…all so talented! Great venue too! Would recommend seeing them!
I have wanted to see Asleep at the Wheel for years. Finally made it to the cozy Ponte Vedra Concert venue where Ray Benson and company put on a nearly two-hour show. They did some of their long-time hits and covered a few other great songs. Great to see a concert where I knew the words to every song. Benson travels with an amazing group of artists. Nice venue. Good sound system. Only question I had was about the seating. We were squeezed in tight. No spacing. Too close for comfort in these COVID days. But even without COVID, those seats had us packed in too tight. I'm going to have to really been a fan of a group to go back to that venue.
I’ve seen Asleep at the wheel about six times?! I was a little nervous due to none of us are getting any younger and it’s been awhile! It was fabulous!!! They didn’t miss a beat! Nor did I! Rock on my friends! Thanks for a fabulous night!!!
Ray and his band had high energy and they all are excellent musicians. I enjoyed every minute! They played a variety of music including jazz, blues, country and rock. I highly recommend attending one of their concerts!
This is our 4th time seeing Asleep at the Wheel..They are just as good now, maybe better if possible, than before. So nice to have them back on the road. Love that Texas Swing!
Back in 1972-73 I was graduating from high school listening to Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen when some friends turned me on to Asleep and the Wheel, which I always took for a philosophy for a way to travel through life. Anyway, I've been traveling and listening to Asleep and the Wheel all these years and this show took me back there. All the memories came flooding back. The only thing that would have made the show better were that it had been presented in a dance hall format. But, I do understand the logistics that would have made that difficult. Thank you Ray, for a wonderful show!
Ray and the band were AMAZING, so many great classic AATW tunes and covers of others done so well. Every musician was excellent and could play and sing so well! Can’t wait to see them again.
Well they are one of my favorite bands so I never miss a chance to see them. It was, however, a miserable experience to buy and receive the tickets for this event.
I first saw AATW for a .50 cover at a bar named Soap Creek Saloon in Austin, Texas during the early 70s. Having been gone from God's Country these past 22 years, it was beyond refreshing to hear Western Swing once again. Sadly, I doubt I will ever make it back home. I am hopeful music will see me through.
AATW was phenomenal!! Like a fine wine, they improve with age. Their sound, their songs, everything was fabulous. Listening to Lukas Nelson play acoustically was an amazing treat, and Eric Church was everything and more that we expected. Could not have been better!!
Oh wow what a great group of performers. Asleep at the Wheel, Eric Church, Lukas Nelson, and Jimmy Vaughn put on a stellar show. It was fantastic to see them play together.
The New Moody Amphitheater is an awesome Venue! Ray Benson and his 50th Anniversary Line-up was a real treat to see and hear. So many Memories. As advertised by Ray, he was having a Surprise Special Guest and what a surprise it was! George Strait came out and played several songs with the band. It was a show I'll never forget and cherish forever! Thanks to ALL of the entertainers that evening!
Asleep at the Wheel were absolutely fantastic. George Strait turned the show into a phenomenal night. 3rd row center stage at the intimate Moody Amphitheater for AATW & The Man, ‘Nuff Said!
