Need more space between rows of seats. There is more space on an airliner. The amount between rows was straight up ridiculous. Not being a member of the cell phone generation, I did not understand the technology of the electronic ticket. Having been going to concerts since 1977 the paper ticket stub is a memento of the evening. First Headliner act that I do not have a proper ticket stub and not happy about it. For over 100 dollars service charges more room and a ticket stub. Is it to much to ask?
Asleep are the Wheel never disappoints! The show’s pace was perfect and the talent outstanding. I do miss Katie Shore on violin and vocals, but the talent of others is good. I enjoyed the keyboard player because of her energy and talent. I also missed her doing a vocal number herself. Of course, Ray is still Ray with that deep voice and overall performance outstanding. I hope they’ll return to Indianapolis, maybe with Katie next time.
AATW is always a fun and amazing show. Go see them if you get a chance.
Asleep at the Wheel never disappoints. A great time from the time Ray Benson and the gang stepped on the stage until "Big Balls in Cowtown" ended the show. Solos by Brennen Leigh and Josh Hedley were an added bonus...would loved to have heard a set just by Brennen. And the Uptown Theater was the perfect venue...can't wait to see them back in KC...
Ray &the band were GREAT but the sound man should have been shot
AATW was great as always. We also love the venue. Looking forward to the next AATW concert in our area and another at the Uptown soon.
Loved the show! My only regret was I couldn’t dance to the music. The band was full tilt and the audience rocked along. The venue is just the right size for this band. Wonderful evening!
First time experiencing Asleep At The Wheel and they were fantastic! An incredible ensemble of amazing musicians who just love creating beautiful live music with all who want to play and sing along!
The way the event was titled, I expected Luke Lovett to do more than 4 or 5 songs. Also the audio was kind of “crunchy” or staticky at times
Asleep at the Wheel was amazing! They sounded so good. Didn't get enough listening to them even though they played for the normal amount of time!! Loved it so much! The venue was great as well. It is mostly standing room only and staff is super friendly, bar staff amazing at getting drinks out quickly.
Big fan of Ray Benson for at least 50 years. This was the first time i have seen them live, did not disappoint.
Asleep at the Wheel was wonderful. The venue, Crystal Bay Room was intimate and had great acoustics. The biggest problem was Ticketmaster. When I bought my tickets they had seats, when my friend went to buy a couple of days later it said “Standing room only, no seats”. That was not true and as a result there were many empty seats. Sad for people who wanted to come and for the performers.
Loved every minute of the concert—they never disappoint!
Ray Benson does it again. It’s always Western swing magic when it’s Asleep at the Wheel.
The band was cooking the other night at the Crystal Bay Club in Kings Beach/ Tahoe, one of my favorite places to watch and enjoy music at the Lake. Saw Hot Tuna just a few weeks ago and it was magical. You can still get tickets for very good prices too. Highly recommend Asleep at the Wheel and the Crystal Bay Club!
I have been a fan for 48 years but never got to see ATTW in concert (they are not in this area too often). The show was wonderful; just what I expected of this band. They kept the crowd, which ranged in age from 20somethings to 80+ year-olds dancing in and out of their seats all night long. I also have never been to a show at Penn's Peak before. The venue was great- we had general admission seating and chose to sit on the stools along the main level edge. We could see great, but I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. Best small venue I've ever been in. I felt like I was in a Texas honkey-tonk (that's a good thing), only this place was a lot cleaner (bathrooms were spotless, too). Other pluses- free parking, $7 beers. My husband and I agree, it was the best concert we ever attended.
One of the best concerts that I have ever seen. Asleep at the Wheel is a classic act with extraordinary talent.
Penns Peak is the best place to see a concert there are no bad seats! We met up with friends and tailgated prior to the show overall it was amazing and Shootout were pretty good too!
The concert was outstanding from the opening act "The Shootout" to the last guitar twang from Ray! One of the best!
