HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH IN CONCERT:

Few bands loom larger in the collective memory of the '90s than Hootie & the Blowfish, the unforgettably-named roots rockers behind decade classics like "Only Wanna Be with You" and "Time." Combining heartland rock and pop sensibility, the band's 1994 debut album Cracked Rear View went 16 times platinum, landing five singles on the charts and becoming the top-selling album of 1995. In 2014, the band will reunite on stage to celebrate 20 years since their landmark debut, treating fans at select tour dates to their greatest hits as well as new material from their highly anticipated reunion album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed by four University of South Carolina freshmen in 1986, Hootie & the Blowfish released several demo EPs before launching to superstardom with their  chart-topping 1994 debut Cracked Rear View. Singer Darius Rucker's iconic baritone became an ubiquitous presence on '90s airwaves as songs like "Let Her Cry" and "Hold My Hand" climbed the charts, eventually making the debut the top-selling album of 1995. After picking up Best New Artist at the 1996 Grammys, the quartet once again landed at No. 1 with sophomore album Fairweather Johnson,  appearing on MTV Unplugged in support of the album's release. Following the 2005 release of Looking for Lucky, the group disbanded, announcing reunion shows in 2014 to the delight of fans around the world.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This show was unforgettable. The band still plays with chemistry like they were still touring. They are so energetic and still sound amazing. They came out for two encores. I highly recommend this show!"

"Stage set was amazing and the Band was outstanding. Great sound and the set list was perfect. They covered a few songs like Cheap Tricks 'Surrender' (AMAZING), Doobie Brothers, and more, along with All the Blowfish's greats!"

"It was like the 90's all over again! You have got to love a band that has fun playing music."

    It was Hootie

by McVitty on 2/20/23PNC Arena - Raleigh

Fantastic show they played for over 2 hours. Love the old stuff and the mix of covers as well. Thought Darius celebrated a little too hard that had an impact on his voice later in the show but as always he was phenomenal.

    by G on 2/20/23PNC Arena - Raleigh

I've been going to Hootie concerts since Fuzzy Duck days in Greensboro. This was a GREAT show, the performance was top notch and big fun. I appreciate the effort put into the quality of the music so many years later.

My Favorite Concert of the Summer

by benyg0 on 10/4/19Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga Springs

Hootie & The Blowfish played hit after hit. Some of the older songs had a new twist that just made them even better. The band remains very tight performing entirely in sync with each other. Darius Rucker has an absolutely amazing voice that totally captivated the audience.

    Amazing Show!

by Bri1818 on 9/27/19Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center - Noblesville

This was honestly the best concert I've been to. I love a variety of music and have been to many different kinds of concerts. Everyone was so energetic. Barenaked Ladies really included the audience and they were SO much fun. Hootie and the Blowfish were fantastic. I would definitely see them all in concert again.

    Awesome Concert

by Rhyne on 9/18/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

These guys still have it. Sounded as good if not better than the shows in the 90’s. I’ve seen them at least a dozen times and this performance ranked at the top.

    Always a good show

    by K. C. on 9/17/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

I gave this a four star because the show was awesome but for the price of the tickets we had really bad seats so we only saw the side of of the stage and missed most of the screen behind them showing memories. Pretty disappointed since they were pricey tickets.

    Hootie and the Barenaked Ladies

by M. on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

What an amazing show. Almost 3 hours of awesomeness! The Barenaked Ladies were whimsical, talented, and Canadian. The Blowfish were witty, skilled, and Carolinian. Together these Cocky bands played one heck of a show!

    Fans pouring beer

by Tim on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

The show was awesome as expected. However the vinue served drinks in the can or bottle the beverage came in. If you had a floor seat you were made to pour your drink into a cup at the bottom of the stairs. This caused people to be backed up the stairs and in the way of anyone trying to return to their seats. The beverage should have been served in a cup to begin with .

    Most Fun Ever

by PH on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Great concert, great venue! The opening act was great as well. I wish the venue would let you keep the top to your water bottle though. Concession prices are too high but they always are no matter where you go. But, I seriously have not had that much fun at a concert in a long time. Stood up the whole time dancing. Great fun.

    Phenomenal

by AuntBev on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Hootie & the Blowfish saved the best for last! I was at the last night of the 3 nights in the place where it all started. They told great stories about the early days where most of us heard them first...local bars and venues. For them to come back and SELL OUT 3 nights in a row was just fantastic! Great old memories and great new memories!

    They Still Got It!!

    by I. D. on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Travelled from NJ to SC to see Hootie on their home turf. Had GA floor tickets - my favorite place to be. What to say? - if you've never seen Hootie, you missed it!! FANTASTIC!! Tons of fun and energy. They sound as great! Best night ever!! Kuddos to the venue, Colonial Life Arena, for being so well organized. They had only one entrance to the floor, came out periodically to let us know where to go and what their timeframe was for opening the doors. Their rep (can't remember his name) even brought out a clear plastic tote for my friend's purse because it was too big. Thank you for great customer service!

    Perfect show. Tons of fun.

    by C. B. on 9/16/19Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

The concert was great. Both acts were incredible and Hootie treated us to a great ending to their tour! When I purchased my tickets, I purchased floor tickets row 26, seats 44, 45 and 46, because they were the first row at that aisle crossing the venue’s floor. When we arrived at the venue, we found that the seats had been set up in such a way that row 25 was the first row at that mid aisle and our row 26 seats were now the second row. I even went to the ticket master app prior to concert start to see if I had just not remembered correctly and there were some seats still available and the seating map on the app still showed row 26 as the first row of the back section and row 25 as the last row of the section in front of us. I have screen shots captured that night where the app was showing a seating chart that was different from what we arrived to find. I was extremely irritated as I purposefully selected seats at the front of the second as that was what I specifically wanted. How does this happen??? I didn’t get the seats / position that I purchased!
