Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

I was anticipating this concert for months and was not disappointed! Wonderful performances from both bands. Bravo!
We have seen Squeeze at least six times over the years and they continue to impress. The show was fantastic. The members of the band seem to be enjoying themselves as much as everyone in the audience. This collection of musicians is as good as it gets. I feel sorry for people that are unfamiliar with this band. They have no idea what they have been missing.
I have been a fan of Squeeze since junior high, and have always wanted to see them live, but never had the opportunity until now. This show totally exceeded my expectations! They sounded SO GREAT, I was honestly floored. I'm so glad I went!
Squeeze was my favorite bad in junior high and high school so it was such a treat to see them live again. They were incredible as were The Psychedelic Furs. Both bands sounded amazing. Great show.
The co-leading performance of The Psychedelic Furs & Squeeze at this venue was a unique experience, it was like experiencing 2 great performances at once. Squeeze solidly delivered, gave the audience what they wanted & beat expectations on delivery & energy. The Furs sound as original as ever, engaging with the audience as if no time has passed. So much fun & crossed the generational divide between me as a Gen X & my son as a Gen Z.
No opening act; just two headliners back to back. Sometimes you can tell when a band doesn't care anymore; not the case with these bands! The performances were brilliant. Great voices, great style. I got 23k steps from dancing. Venue is incredible for acoustics and comfort (not jammed like sardines). Loved everything about this show.
The show was a double bill with Psychedelic Furs. The Furs were the main reason I wanted to go but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed Squeeze as much as the Furs (maybe even more). I’d definitely go see them again.
This was an amazing show. The lead singers sounded exactly the same as they did back in their height of their popularity. The bands were amazing.
Been a fan of Squeeze for over 40 years! So wonderful to see Glenn Tilbrook, Chris Difford and band perform this past weekend a sold-out concert at the Salt Shed in Chicago. The place was chocka- a sold out show. Such a fun night, the hits kept coming and we all sang along! We were front row and center, I must have been grinning like a Cheshire Cat. My son who goes to a lot of concerts said it was one of the best nights out he'd had in a while. I hope they continue to tour for many years to come.
Squeeze is still an amazing band and their classic songs sounded great at the Salt Shed in Chicago! The show started with the Psychedelic Furs - on time and jumping right into their hits. I like that neither band bothered with encores, just played their songs with just a little witty banter here and there. Perfect! It was a beautiful Sept night so I wish it had been outside but the venue inside was a good space and the sound was good too. It was easy enough to get a drink, not too crowded and not too long of a line for bathrooms. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to see live music.
Both bands sounded great. PFurs started the night with an upbeat set of old favorites that got the crowd dancing and singing along. Squeeze was next and kept the party going. I’ve seen both bands over the years and both still sound great. The Salt Shed is a fantastic addition to live venues in Chicago. With both inside and outside space. Seemed a bit crowded up near stage but was nice to sit outside for a break on a beautiful end of summer evening. Could’ve used a few more food options. Lines for drinks and bathrooms manageable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I bought tickets mainly to see Squeeze but thoroughly enjoyed the Psychedelic Furs. Great evening absolutely loved the music. I was amazed at the talent on the stage. Brought back great memories. The Salt Cellar a great venue to see your favorite bands.
It's been about 30 years since the last time I saw Squeeze in concert and they haven't lost a step! Glen Tilbrook is still amazing!
The floor space gets tight, and when the drunkies start to dance, they bounce off of everyone around them. And people, just watch the show and enjoy the experience; no need to record every flipping moment on your phone. Looked like an ersatz religious service with all the extended arms holding their lifeline devices in the air. Oy.
I was pleasantly surprised with how great they sounded....tight band, great vocals, fast pace....
The two bands sounded great considering their heyday was about 40 years ago, but they both put on great shows. The Salt Shed was an impressive venue, though it seemed odd that if you wanted to pay extra for seats, those seats were waaaaay in the back. Otherwise, you had to stand 4 hours.
Squeeze was the best show of the year hands down, Glen Tilbrook has not lost a step and actually has gotten better. His guitar work and volcals were ofc the charts and the band was simply on fire. What a great night. Thanks for bringing us back to the glory years!
Squeeze and the Psychedelic Furs were amazing!! They did not disappoint!! I had seen Squeeze before, but had never seen the Furs. They both sounded fantastic and their energy was amazing! Can’t wait to see them again!
Squeeze was amazing! They sounded great and I remembered why I loved them so much back in the day. I was able to bring my 17 year old daughter to continue her musical brainwashing…it’s working. And kudos to that unicorn of a man on keys!
We traveled to Detroit from Cleveland to see Squeeze. This amazing band was so tight and the set moved like a freight train. Perfect performances on every song. Different flavors of some songs. The crowd knew every word and sang in unison to fill the venue. Glenn Tilbrook is an exceptional guitar player, gliding over a rock solid rhythm section. Slide player and keyboard player filled out the sound. I look forward to seeing them again, so happy they’re touring the states! It was over too soon!
