About

Squeeze, led by the songwriting duo of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, produced some of the catchiest songs from the ‘70s British new wave scene. The band’s 1978 self-titled debut and follow-up albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980) produced a number of hits in the U.K., with a few receiving airplay on U.S. college radio, including “Take Me I'm Yours,” “Up the Junction” and the bouncy “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell).” In 1981, Squeeze released their fourth studio album East Side Story, featuring “Tempted.” The song went on to become one of the band’s most famous songs. It has been featured in movies, TV shows, video games and commercials.

  • Travel back in time

by JD78 on 8/9/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I've seen them live, and they haven't lost a step. It's like travelling back in time; they sound just like they did twenty years ago. Excellent!

  • Great fun

by dgow on 8/9/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5

I was a huge squeeze fan in high school and though the guys are showing their age they still put on a good show and don't sacrify their dignity too much by staging this comeback. Of course they played all the songs everyone knows to the crowds pleasure and for the few hard core fans like my self they played some that I would never have expected, "When the hangover strikes" I think had 95% of the crowd looking at eachother wondering what was going on...but myself and the other real squeeze fans were singing the words with heartfelt melancholy. Great stuff, great venue with only about 350 people too.

the show was phenominal...these boys can still rock....saw them 10 years ago and it felt like yesterday....hope they keep touring...loved them...

  • THEY STILL GOT "IT"!!!

by FreshSqueezed on 8/8/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

If you don't have tickets to see SQUEEZE on their current tour yet -- GET THEM! Difford and Tilbrook have the same charm and talent they had when their string of hits originally came out in the 80's! They and their incredibly talented band had everyone in the theater on their feet and dancing to all of theri greatest hits! Also, they use a projected video backdrop specific to each song that helps communicate the "mood" of each piece.

  • I am very grateful to see them considering...

Squeeze is one of the most underrated bands in rock history, But this was more emotional for me. Bought the tickets with the impression that I would be 100% healed from knee surgery. Fate has it that due to complications after the surgery I was close to death twice. My 18 year old son and friend could not wait to go. Set back for me I could not drive since May. Asked my surgeon if I can try to go (thankfully, if needed 2 co-pilots can drive), she gave me a chance to go. (4 hour round trip). Squeeze was nothing short of amazing! My son, already fan, his friend never saw a concert, were blown away by the energy, perfection, personal touch the band gave to all, with all the hits (no fillers)! I have seen them a few times, this one was an emotional one for me. The band gave me the best therapy! They keep the hits and band growing, Sold out crowd of many generations brought together to see true artists and the genuine music that has been missing today.Thank you Squeeze for this lifetime opportunity!!!

  • Squeeze was Incredible!!!

by MJFarr on 8/8/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

The best show I've seen in years!!! I would highly recommend.

  • Squeeze was FANTASTIC!!!

by MLadcani on 8/5/10Uptown Theater - NapRating: 5 out of 5

They rocked the house at the Uptown Theater in Napa from beginning and end - they didn't stop for even 30 seconds between songs. They sounded terrific and played in the hot theater (we were drenched ourselves and we weren't performing or in the bright lights). I would see Squeeze again in a heartbeat and night after night......it was some FANTASTIC PLACE that night ;0)

  • City so nice, named it twice!

by Dancinbare on 8/5/10Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Unfortunately Squeeze couldn't outdo opening act Cheap Trick. Cheap Trick opened this show with so much energy and didn't even need to pull out such fan-favorites as She's Tight, Voices, not even The Flame!!! Even without retired drummer Bun E. Carlos, Rick Nielson's son taking over on drums was invigorating and kept the crowd in a frenzy!!! Squeeze on the other hand had trouble keeping the audience on their feet but they were well received by the New York audience and kept all their die-hard fans dancing!

  • i quite like squeeze!!

  • by Anonymous on 8/4/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The Squeeze show was outstanding. Great vocals, showmanship. The Showbox is a perfect venue for Squeeze, as the group got immediate feedback. Sound system @ Showbox was spot on.

  • Amazing performance

by TheClaphamKid on 8/4/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

If I was king, Squeeze would be my house band, and all be knighted. I was particularly pleased they played "Loving You Tonight." Blistering guitars for "If It's Love" brought the house down as did sing-alongs to "Black Coffee" and "Tempted," and "Pulling Muscles." These lads are so very much the real deal. God bless them all.

  • by Julz88 on 8/4/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

An excellent show that made this long-time Squeeze fan extremely nostalgic. Tight as ever, Difford, Tilbrook and band sounded great and put on a truly entertaining show. A little tough to hear vocals as well as I would have liked, but I was at the front at the stage and may not have been in the best position for the sound setup. Awesome to see Difford back in action on stage. My only critique would be that I would have liked them to play more recent material as well as the older classics. And it would have been great to hear a few of the more obsure tunes of the early albums.

  • English Beat and The Squeeze

I'd much rather have heard and seen the Beat end the evening but overall good 80's FUN!

  • Squeeze and English Beat

by makineyez on 8/3/10The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

English Beat rocked the place! Great vibe people were dancing(the POGO) talk about the way back machine! But great fun! Squeeze never disappoints, they sound just like they did 20 years ago!! Great show, loved it!!

  • Squeeze Rocked the Fillmore!!

  • Squeeze and English Beat were Awesome!

    by shoegirl1 on 8/2/10Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I saw Squeeze and the English Beat in Napa. The venue was very nice! Squeeze was very British like and played and sounded very well. They sang all of their hits and then ended with" Pulling Muscles from a Shell".

  • by Anonymous on 8/2/10The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed it. Atmosphere was good. The show was cool! :)

  • English Beat was amazing!!

by Angrc on 8/2/10Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Uptown theatre in Napa was beautiful. Squeeze was terriffic.

  • I thought it was an English Beat Show

by ShaDynasty on 8/2/10Mountain Winery - SaratogaRating: 4 out of 5

We bought tickets thinking it was an English Beat show. It turned out Squeeze was the headliner. Tickets were sold for English Beat with Squeeze, not the other way around. We were not the only ones who thought this, given that the crowd stood for the whole English Beat show, but sat for a good part of the Squeeze show. Wakeling also spent some time selling everyone on the Squeeze part of the show. With that preface, English Beat were great. The portion of Squeeze we stayed for was also good. It sounded just like the albums, to the point we thought they were lip syncing, possibly. Mountain Winery is a really great place to see a show. I would definitely go there again.

  • Squeeze was great!

    by Horton1998 on 8/2/10Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 4 out of 5

English Beat and Squeeze were awesome. Would see them again. Well worth the money.
