The show was amazing… the set, the acting, the sound, the lights!

This show was an amazing surprise! I work at a university in the Theatre Department and the set, props and lighting were just amazing! The whole cast was wonderful! I loved that the actor that played Willy Wonka gave the character a Gene Wilder vibe! Cudos to the whole cast and crew!!!

Bought tickets to take my nephew to the show and it was amazing! We were blown away by the performance!

Had a girls night out with my daughters and had a wonderful time seeing a great show!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was exceptional. My family and I truly enjoyed the story, characters, and experience of the night. It was well thought out, with the stage arrangements done very well for all to view. The characters were amazing and the present day spin was awesome. I highly recommend seeing this show, even if you have not read the book or seen the movies. A night to remember for us. Thanks!

This was the first time I ever went and saw a play at a theater, and the experience was phenomenal. I went with my significant other and we both were blown away by the actors’ performances. If this show is ever available near you I highly recommend seeing it. Even if you don’t like plays or Willy Wonka.

The show was great! My one technical complaint has to do with the sons. My seats were the very last row of the topmost balcony and there were times when I couldn’t understand what was being said by the cast, especially when they were singing. I don’t think the tech crew took into account those seats when setting up the sound for the show. It could also have been partly due to the usage of heavy accents (German, Russian, etc) by the actors as well. Otherwise my complaints are in regard to things not related to the show at all. I can not recall if the Detroit opera theater sold food at previous shows I’ve attended but they need to stop selling anything that comes in any kind of plastic or cellophane wrapping. It’s super loud and distracting to hear when trying to watch the show. I definitely recommend seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

We parked at the Detroit Opera House Parking Center which was less than a minute walk to the Detroit Opera House. We had seats on the main floor to the left of the stage and once seated, an usher asked if we would like to move up to the seats directly in front of the stage right in front of the orchestra pit. 2nd row in very comfortable seats. The show was amazing. The actors were terrific and the scenery sets were great. The theater itself is beautiful and very clean. The lobby is fairly small and there is nowhere to sit if you need to before the theater doors are open.

The staff at the Detroit Opera House was super friendly and helpful. My seats were great and the show was fun!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The music was a nice blend of old and new. The whimsical sarcasm was hilarious. The performers were amazing(my two favorites were Willie Wonka and Augustus). Would absolutely recommend!

Perfect for a family fun night! The performance is wonderful with the perfect balance of adult and child humor. The sets were great and the story updated just enough to captivate the kids attention for today. We loved it!

This show far exceeded my expectations. My family thoroughly enjoyed this show from start to finish. It was a wonderful recreation of a childhood classic. The actors were all perfectly cast and the costumes and scenery were wonderful. We would definitely see it again.

I didn’t think the show would be great (I was going for my husband), but it was worse than I even expected it to be. The performers were very talented; however, the storyline was not entertaining. Too much time spent on each character in the beginning - at intermission, we still were not in the chocolate factory 🙄

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a fantastic performance! It was lively and well cast with performances that were absolutely amazing. The singing and set design were top notch. The 2 1/2 hour showtime kept us entertained all throughout. It was a perfect end to our evening. I would highly recommend you seeing this show!
