Bringing my two boys to Shea's to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was magical. Shea's is an elegant AND child friendly theater. The foam booster seats ensured my two boys could see everything. And the candy vendors for a musical about candy brought laughter and a sweet treat to us all. Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was engaging and endearing. The rotten vegetable seller has become legend (as now all of our vegetables come from her...) The LED curtains took everything to the next level, especially TV Mike. This was anight to remember, Thank you Shea's!
It was very nice, actors sang beautifully. Very funny also. Recommended.
I love Sheas, one of our greatest assets we have in Buffalo. The actors themselves were very good. Perhaps it is a hard movie to make into a live show, it lost some of the magic. My daughter fell asleep.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the play. I grew up with the original movie so this had a lot to live up to. The first act was a good blend of the original with a modern twist. It was a little on the wordy side for kids but it set a backdrop for the second act The second act was hysterical! My son (he’s 9) and I laughed the entire time. Loved the colors and songs. I would have liked more original songs but that’s just me as that’s what I remember. Great Job!
It was really a great show. Only thing missed some of the great songs that make Willy Wonka well Willy Wonka
Amazing show......pretty aligned to the book, but updated for 2018! Loved it!!
I could not believe how callous and cold this show was I sat in horror as each child was picked off without regret or regard for human life or the audience watching My 3 year old stared at the stage with tears in her eyes as the black squirrels held ripped up pieces of Verucca Salt With questions I could not even answer And strangely sweet little Charley in the end only cared about candy and easily forgot all the children who were murdured
A great show for all ages. My husband an I enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!!
I loved this take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Some of the familiar songs and some new ones! The actors were marvelous, especially the young man playing Charlie. The Oompa-Loompas were hilarious
The show was a wonderful experience for me and my 11 year old!!
My 9yr old daughter & I loved Charlie..the characters looked & sounded awesome, she was literally on the edge of her seat watching the show in amazement of everything! I'm so glad we went!
A must see! Pleasantly surprised! Plan to attend this show again. New updated version with unexpected stage tech.
Loved this show costumes singing etc story line was a smidge different but hey I loved the veggie cart. It was a tad long starting at 8 on a Friday night for children . The 15 min intermission was extended that’s why I believe we got out after 1025. I saw several kids fast asleep being carried out. I would highly recommend!
