Simply amazing. Stellar performances all around from the cast. Definitely a must-see!!
Wonderful show! The actors were fantastic and the singing was absolutely gorgeous!
The acting and singing was amazing. From seeing highlights from when Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, And Michelle Williams, I believe I saw the watered down version. That's my only complaint.
Amazing voices & talented cast made for a wonderful show. I was so engrossed in the story & the players.
The show was extremely well done. Everything from the costuming to the setts. The performers were wonderful. They had beautiful voices and played their parts very well.
Such a wonderful show. My daughter absolutely loved the performers. This was her first time seeing it. She laughed, she cried she sang, so a show well worth seeing again!
i I absolutely loved the Color Purple! Everything was great except my seat!!! I was in the 4th balcony however my seat was directly in front of a pole, which prohibited me from seeing most of the stage. I don't think this seat should even be up for purchasing! My seat was: SEC: MBLCCL - ROW P - SEAT 410. This seat totally obstructs your view of the stage. Luckily my seat mate next to me moved her seat which allowed me to move over.
Brilliant depiction on the daily struggles that women face and the meaning of sisterhood!
This is an amazing, must see musical! I very strongly recommend it!
Fantastic show!! The songs were amazing and the whole show was very moving!
I am so happy I was able to attend the Color Purple play. It was well put together, the actors were great and the theatre was beautiful inside. I would definitely recommend this play.
Saw The Color Purple last night. Cast was amazing and they worked super hard, unfortunately the sound was terrible. Couldn’t hear a thing that was said or sung, just echoey mush! Really a shame. FIX THE SOUND!
Sophia and Harpo stole the show! Loved their performances. I was initially disappointed to find this wasn’t an adaptation from the movie but quickly got with the program. The songs and singing were ok with occasional flashes of brilliance that were enough to let you know the cast was truly talented but sometimes couldn’t rise above their material. Push the Button was the most memorable song - fun and naughty and suggestive as anything Shug should sing! Overall enjoyed the show but the venue left much to be desired. The balcony sloped alarmingly and the sound system was either poor to begin with or just not at a high enough volume. I would think twice about purchasing those seats again because the lower level appeared, judging by their reactions, to hear just fine.
The show was great, but the theater needed to adjust the sound. At times it was hard to hear the cast.
I had a challenge understanding the first couple of songs, but then was fine. The set was very minimal considering how big the stage actually is. The story is wonderful and was told beautifully by a very talented cast.
Fantastic show with a wonderful musical adaptation. A new way to tell a heart touching story!
The show was enjoyable but hard to keep up with. If you haven’t read the book, it’s hard to understand the plot. Additionally, they skipped some of the most interesting parts of the book. The musical numbers were all very good, and the show was funny, but not as good as I had hoped.
I was blown away by all of these performances. The females were amazing! The Celie performance literally brought me to tears. Other actresses in the role in the past were great but this time it was amazingly..emotionally... heartfelt the best I have seen and heard. OUTSTANDING!
I laughed, I cried, very moving. I really enjoyed it. Had a great time!
Loved, Loved, Loved this musical. It was emotional, exciting, happy with over the top singing. It was a. Birthday Celebration I will never forget. It freed my spirit to soar for a couple of hours. Everyone should see this play. young and 65 year olds like me.
