About

LAKE STREET DIVE:

Hailed by Rolling Stone as the year's  "best new band" upon the 2014 release of album Bad Self Portraits, Lake Street Dive have made a big impression with their creative brand of soul pop. Anchored by the honey-toned vocals of conservatory-trained frontwoman Rachel Price, the band's breezy, indie-inflected tunes are nothing if not confident, reflecting the training and virtuoso musicianship of the band's talented members. Lake Street Dive impressed the pants off of Ellen Degeneres performing live on her show in 2014, building excitement among fans for their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in 2004 by a group of students at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music, Lake Street Dive started out as a country act before settling on the jazz-inspired soul pop they're known for today. They self-released their 2006 debut album In This Episode... with the winnings they took home from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, self-releasing sophomore album Promises, Promises the following year. In 2010, they signed with Signature Sounds Recordings for their self-titled third album, a strong collection of songs that hinted at the heaps of praise their sixth album Bad Self Portraits would receive upon its early-2014 release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Lake Street Dive put on an amazing show! The lead singer's voice is unbelievable and the band as a whole is fantastic. Lots of energy, great interaction with the crowd."

"Very cool band. What a voice! Well-written songs, with some fantastic cover songs sprinkled in."

"They sound great live! The musicians and the vocalist are extremely talented and they play well together. Eclectic mix of styles is fun."

    The absolute bomb

by NoBea93 on 2/7/23The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

I have been an LSD fan since the early teens, but have never (???) seen them indoors. The dynamics of a beautiful hall add a richness to their sound that is almost impossible to describe. Like: "Oh, that's how Bridget's bass sound!" They are one of the hardest working bands around and they did everything to please us. The sound was spot on, and the band showed no ill effects from their prior night's malaise. Real troopers. Real music. Lots to love.

    Great act, but rude crowd

by DJ on 2/1/23Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Lake Street Dive was amazing. But I have never seen such a rude crowd. People constantly getting up during the show and talking.

Awesome but missing a couple things

by Chris on 1/28/23The Sylvee - Madison

Lovely as always with a few big misses. One:. Instruments aren't micd as well as vocals so while we all love Rachel it would be nice to hear the others. Two: energy level was at about an 8 instead of the usual 10.

    Fantastic

by Gabby on 1/20/23Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - Asheville

I had the absolute best time seeing Lake Street Dive! The vibe was incredible and their voices are even better in person (which I didn't even know was possible). I would 10/10 recommend seeing them in person and will be going again!

    Best LSD show!

by thumbingdowntheroad on 1/20/23Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - Asheville

We've lost count on the number of times we've seen Lake Street Dive. The venue was great (cozy, intimate), the opener (Monica Martin) was super - we'll strive to see her more as well.

    Lake Street Dive Vancouver BC

by Jeneen on 10/31/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Lake Street Dive always puts on an energetic, professional show — our favorite band! The Orpheum is a fabulous venue. Their staff was very nice. New secure ticketing worked great, transferred tickets with no problem.

    loud night

by allie on 10/27/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

First off it was way too loud!! We found the opening band terrible, and painful to listen too. We thought Lake Street Dive were great, and man can she sing!!! but the sound was terrible and it really ruined the performance. Noticeably far too loud and distorted with both bands. I go to many concerts and have done for many years and have never experienced such terrible sound. Very disappointing. Is this on the band or the venue? I don't know, haven't been to the Fox Theater before.

Lake Street Dive is an outstanding band, extremely talented

by Allan Quartermain on 10/19/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Lake Street Dive is off the hook!! Every performer is an expert with their craft. Racheal Price has the voice of a true professional who can match anyone female singer in the business today. Thank you, Lake Street Dive, for putting it all out there on Oct. 14 for Oakland/North Bay area and the world to see & hear the ultimate Band in classic pop, soul, alt-jazz and folk rock! I look forward to your next tour thru California next year! Peace & Blessings

Maybe do a sound check. Sometimes you should play some favorites.

    The sound was terrible.

    by R. F. on 10/18/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Big Lake Street Dive fan. This was my eighth concert in multiple states and venues. Splurged for third row lodge seats. The drum amplification was so loud you couldn't hear Bridget's string base. Mike's drumming is typically a highlight for me, but the amplification eliminated his nuance and sophistication. And the whole level of the instrumental volume overwhelmed Rachael Price, one of the greatest vocalists of her generation. Her less accompanied pieces were much better, but still the volume of the sound system distorted her voice.

    An amazing concert!

by Jean on 10/17/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Lake Street Dive lived up to their name. I was amazed how gifted all the musicians wee, and Stephanie Price's voice was a force of nature! I enjoyed how positive their interacts with the audience, and themselves. I can't wait to see them again.

AMAZING BAND❣️Talk on YOUR Dime, NOT mine

by TamiB on 10/17/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Ease of ticketing, entry, everything that could be controlled by venue/ticketing agent went smoothly. Ticket app allowed easy entry. I will NEVER understand inconsiderate audience members who continually talk DURING a performance-actually trying to out-shout the sound system! Especially when it’s an awesome band like Lake Street Dive I know it isn’t the venue or TM’s fault, I am just venting my frustrations at people’s lack of awareness
