EDM fans have spoken, and veteran Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren is their king. As one of the most popular trance DJs in the world, Van Buuren has topped DJ Magazine's fan poll a record five times, virtually dominating dance music with his unprecedented run at the top of the list from 2007-2010. Following the 2013 release of his fifth album Intense, Van Buuren is once again entrancing fans around the world with his prismatic live shows on the 2014 Armen Only: Intense tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Leiden, Netherlands, Armin Van Buuren began DJing while at university, eventually putting his law degree on hold to pursue music full time. He made his first UK chart appearance at just 19 with "Blue Fear," climbing the charts again several years later with "Communication." By 2001, Van Buuren's marathon sets had earned him a spot on DJ Magazine's Top-100 list, setting the stage for the launch of his hugely popular State of Trance radio show. While his skills as a producer were highlighted on his 2003 full-length debut 76, it was 2008's Imagine that really broke the mold — the album peaked at No. 1 in the Netherlands, a first for a dance music artist in Dutch music history.

    I’ve seen Armin van Burin four times before, always large festivals. Seeing him at such a small, indoor venue was an amazing experience. My husband has never been to an EDM concert, he surprised himself and loved it. We also had access to the 40Below Club, which was outstanding service. I really enjoyed Armin’s opening act, RubendeRonde. The only thing I was sad about was Armin’s closer, it ended on a low note, not a high note. I enjoyed all the trance and most of his new work, but I would really have appreciated an older throw back or two and there wasn’t one.

    The staff was so friendly and i love the intimacy of the small venue i was upfront and loved the entire show i had a date that it was her first edm experience and it blew her away she loved it and wants more

    January 29th, 2020****Amazing exceptional and outstanding show (especially Armin Van Buuren, well organized event, shout out to (Harrahs Casino) Valet parking staff and place of venue (The Fillmore Nola), loved the decor with some historical facts and bartenders & staff were all exceptionally friendly welcoming and professional. Very clean establishment throughout the night. WELL DONE!

    The Fillmore is one of the best New Orleans venues and getting to see armin there was a dream come true! Great acoustics and awesome atmosphere this was one of my all time favorite concerts it was really great getting to see him perform in such a small and upclose venue my friends and I were right up by the stage!

    Armin was awesome, but the reason for the low rating? For a Tuesday night concert that starts at 8pm, I would have expected to see the "main act" before 11pm!! Armin emerged at 11 pm after 3 hours of mind numbing monotonous techno beat that was, I imagined, supposed to get us revved up. Well we were revved and revved some more and then just bored. I had taken to this concert three teenagers with school tests the next day, so unfortunately, we had to slip out at midnight, having gotten to see only one hour of the amazing show that Armin Van Buuren was putting on. This really sucked!! Why, oh why, couldn't he have come on stage just a little earlier? I have been to many concerts, and have never been made to wait so long just to see what it was we were all paying to see and then have to leave so "early" like that! This was an all-ages event, but it seemed not very high-school friendly if you ask me.

    I've seen Armin Van Buuren perform at many different venues, but the show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta was by far the best! The stage design was exciting and the sound was incredible. Even the 2 opening DJs (Vivid and Ruben De Ronde) were amazing! My only issue was how crowded it was, and how crowd control was handled. I understand the need to keep things safe and in order, but it was still frustrating how strictly controlled access to the main floor became. If you needed to leave for the restroom, for example, you might not have been able to get back in.

    Opening act was twice the length it should have been. Main act should have had more structure, songs felt repetitive and without flow or an arc. Ticket price may have been too high given the overall quality of experience.

    Really enjoyed the show, high energy and positive vibes all night. Estiva was a great opening act and provided a great entry to Armin’s set!!! As always Armin delivered and I can’t wait until he returns!!! The venue was nice and roomy. Bar service was quick and friendly! Loved, loved this event and I look forward to the next one!
