As one of the most popular trance DJs in the world, Van Buuren has topped DJ Magazine's fan poll a record five times, virtually dominating dance music with his unprecedented run at the top of the list from 2007-2010. Following the 2013 release of his fifth album Intense, Van Buuren is once again entrancing fans around the world with his prismatic live shows on the 2014 Armen Only: Intense tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Leiden, Netherlands, Armin Van Buuren began DJing while at university, eventually putting his law degree on hold to pursue music full time. He made his first UK chart appearance at just 19 with "Blue Fear," climbing the charts again several years later with "Communication." By 2001, Van Buuren's marathon sets had earned him a spot on DJ Magazine's Top-100 list, setting the stage for the launch of his hugely popular State of Trance radio show. While his skills as a producer were highlighted on his 2003 full-length debut 76, it was 2008's Imagine that really broke the mold — the album peaked at No. 1 in the Netherlands, a first for a dance music artist in Dutch music history.

Im able to drink but, don't believe alcohol is worth it to have a great time. The crowd there was mostly nice and friendly. Aimee liked that you could sit down on the bleachers if you wanted t and still see the event. I had a great time. The time went by so fast.

The floor was great, and although crowded, there was still plenty of room! The drinks were not too expensive, and the music was obviously incredible. The only thing I would try to fix would be the DJ booth is really tall and if you are in the front row, or close to the front, it is hard to see the DJ's face because the booth goes up too high. Not sure what they can fix about this, but that would be my only recommendation.

Trance at its best

These artists did not change their style or stretch the trance genre thin, because they were spinning at a world-famous venue. They gave the crowd what they were looking for and played the best in current trance, while mixing in some classics. AvB and his team did a stellar job putting this event together. He creates a real connection with his audience.

The atmosphere was amazing, great light show, the sound was very good. We sat on the 106 section. We took down one star because the PA system stopped in the middle for 10 minutes, and the drinks were overpriced.

I guess my seat was way too high and far away from the stage, but still, lighting and Graphic were terrible... especially the mix by Ferry and Markus as 'New World Punx' were too monotonous and not so exciting ... Anime-style graphic for New World Punx is so juvenile and uncool... Although W&W were good, it looked like they were not doing any work on the stage (although most of DJs work on stage are probably underestimated by many) .... raising hands most of the time... I like to see DJs at least look like they are actually working especially when I paid money to see them...
