About

Holding onto hope when times are tough can take an awful lot of determination, and sometimes, an awful lot of determination comes in a surprisingly small package. Little Orphan Annie has reminded generations of theatergoers that sunshine is always right around the corner, and now the best-loved musical of all time is set to return in a new production - just as you remember it and just when we need it most.

Annie, directed by Jenn Thompson, features the iconic book and score, written by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. This celebration of family, optimism and the American spirit remains the ultimate cure for all the hard knocks life throws your way.

    Fabulous play

by Amy on 2/20/24Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

My daughter and I went this weekend to see Annie and it was probably one of the best plays we’ve seen. We love broadway and have seen quite a few and this one is top of our list!!

    Winner for the kids

by JT on 2/19/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Kids had a tremendous time. It's fun, it's funny, the singing performances were great. And there is just enough suspense but not too much, to make it workable for a younger audience.

    Poor sound

by Ed M. on 2/19/24Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

The show was excellent, but it was depreciated considerably in this venue by terrible acoustics and sound. We could only make out about half the spoken parts. The children spoke loud, as if to compensate, but their high frequency voices just detracted from understanding the dialogs. An excellent show, we’ve seen it elsewhere, but terrible sound here.

I brought my 19-year-old with me to see Annie. She loved it! The dog got the most applause. So stinkin' cute.

    Wondeful first time experience

by Sue on 2/15/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Annie was our 4 year old granddaughter's first live professional musical. To start, the staff was kind and helpful. They even had an area set up for pictures where the staff used our camera to take photos of us in front of an large Annie sign. The show itself as one of the best we (the grandparents) have attended. The cast, sets and orchestra were all superb. Our granddaughter sat in her seat the entire time with her eyes glued to the stage. Hopefully the Boch Wang Center will hold more musicals that are appropriate for children. Many thanks to all!

    Great Show!

by Katherine on 2/14/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

For Christmas we pick a few shows to take the kids too. Growing up I was not exposed to theater; this show is not like the movie I grew up with. However, that does not change how good the production, the talent, or music was. I was so happy to share this experience with my children and look forward to what Broadway in Boston will bring us next!

    Not great

by SL on 2/14/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

This is tricky. I love musicals. The kids were great. But maybe it was just the play? It was boring. I took my 10 yo. We left after intermission. We spent a fortune on these tickets which is really hard when you think about both of us not caring to stay longer.

    Annie!

by Emily on 2/14/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

The show itself was fabulous! It was absolutely insane that the sign language translators were blocking the actors on stage and the view for everyone sitting on the right side of the theater.

    Superb

by Jen on 2/14/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

An amazing performance! The energy, adaptation, voices and acting were phenomenal. It felt and sounded like the original movie cast, the characters looks and voices were so spot on. It was difficult for each of us to pick our favorite moments and characters, we enjoyed them all! Don’t miss this show!

    Pleasant morning at the theater

by Madam X on 2/14/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

I was pleasantly surprised with Annie. So many times these off broadway touring companies are lacking. It was an all around stellar experience. Annie was in total command with the role , with a good, strong voice. Also, the orphans were talented with both singing and dancing. One little gal really belted out her solo. The dance routines were cleverly choreographed. As the actors interchange roles, it required multi talents. Apropos to that, the woman who did the solo in the number NYC was especially good. I haven’t scanned the playbill yet, so I’m not sure of actors biographies. I took my four year old granddaughter and she was enthralled. What a great introduction to live talent!

    Wonderful show

by Pat F on 2/13/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

ANNIE was an outstanding production. The acting and singing were wonderful. What powerful voices those girls had, especially Annie! The scene changes were flawless and kept the action moving. Shout out to Jeffrey Kelly as Rooster. Great to see a hometown boy from Cape Cod do so well! The Wang Theater is an incredible place! So beautiful. The seats were quite comfortable. My only concern was the volume of the sound system. It was too high, especially when the children sang. Their very loud high pitch voices were rather shrill. Though I suppose that it was better than being too low! All around, this was a great experience for us including my twelve year old grandson seeing his first ‘Broadway’ show. Bravo to all the cast, musicians and production crew !

    Great performance

by Am on 2/13/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Loved the performance! They were all great. One thing that was a little upsetting was that we didn’t realize that the concessions stands sold peanut butter cups. My daughter has a peanut allergy. The girl sitting next to me was eating them. My daughter was really upset, nervous and cried most of the second act.

by Luc on 2/13/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

This rendition of Annie was truly amazing. The level of talent by the adult actors was incredible, and the child actors were truly amazing. The orchestra was impeccable. Definitely would return to see it again.

by Smeath on 2/13/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

The performance was awesome! My daughter, who can’t sit still for any moment in time, was glued to her seat and her eyes never left the stage!!!! I highly recommend the show to anyone thinking about going.
