Love the show. Balcony seats are not good for seeing the stage. Please consider lowering the prices of orchestra seating so the shows can be enjoyed even more. Maybe donate the upper balcony to children's homes or those ministries/shelters/homeless that may not have ever experienced a show.
The show was very good! It was a birthday present for my niece. She enjoyed it very much. The cast was very good!! The facility is set up very well and staff was very friendly and helpful. My only issue was some of the language used in the play caught me off guard, I was not expecting some of the words used in a family/children's play. It was not a lot of language but I wasn't expecting for my 8 year old niece to hear it. It may have been in the original movie but I have no seen the movie in a long time.
It was ok. Way to much cursing! Did not hold our attention in some parts. Not like the movie in many ways.
All of the performers knocked it out of the park. The singing was great, the dancing was great, and the comedy was hilarious. Fantastic show.
Such a wonderful show! The cast is amazing- it's shocking how good the kids are! We had the best time! It's funny, sweet and the music is lovely.
This was my first time at the new McAllen PAC. Venue is a big upgrade. Show is what you would expect. Enjoyable event.
Was my first time watching this production. I was great. I can't stop talking about it.
Always a wonderful show and the cast was awesome! Loved their professionalism and their talent shone in each of their roles! Sandy was adorable!
Bought tickets to show support for our new performing arts center (so that we get more quality shows in the future). Venue was good, show itself was great. Only issue I had was purchasing tickets -- checked here on Ticketmaster within the hour when the tickets became available (as far as I was aware) and at that point, only mezzanine seats were available for purchase. Would have wanted an orchestra seat but none was available. I highly doubt it sold out within the hour (after all, this isn't Hamilton ...) but you can't purchase any orchestra seats. Sure enough, on show night, there were quite a few seats available in the orchestra. It would've been nice if they had opened up those seats for purchase as well (or maybe I was just missing something here). Enjoyed the show otherwise. The cast and the orchestra did a great job. The performing arts center was beautiful and I'm really glad that we have something like this in the Valley now. Hopefully this is the start of more shows available to watch. Anyway, in short: venue and show's great, ticket purchasing is a little frustrating.
I am originally from NYC. I saw Annie on Broadway and I can hardily recommend this cast and their performances. This Annie is 80% of the Broadway Annie. In addition the brand new McAllen Performing Arts Center is spectacular.
Annie is one of our favorite musicals. And we were pleased to see that the changes were very welcomed. Like the song NYC. I enjoyed the musical very much. The cast was very talented and the music was outstanding. I am so glad we went. I had missed having something like this here. I had season tickets when it was at the old convention center on North 10th. This Performing Arts Center is incredible. The selections are inspired. The price is a little high, but well worth it. I am so happy for us.
... the Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow!!! I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this musical, never having seen it before. From a distance, it seemed like a show for little girls. My premonition was confirmed when waiting for the show to start- every family there was with a little girl. I guess the boys had to stay at home with a babysitter. But to my amazement, this show was truly amazing & was for both boys & girls, & men & women. It was much better than I had expected. In fact, it was my third favorite musical I have seen. I was so happy to be able to see this with my entire family. This is a great family musical that is simply timeless. The songs are so catchy & easy to sing along to. I enjoyed the music so much that I bought the soundtrack at intermission & absolutely love it. It was fun to see New York City during the Great Depression era as the backdrop. Issie Swickle, the girl playing Annie, sang her heart out. She was really good. After the show, we waited by the stage door to wait for the actors & actresses. We were able to see Miss Hannigan, FDR, & Annie. My kids were even able to get Annie's autograph. As a footnote, I enjoyed this musical so much, that I went back to see it again 2 weeks later. I enjoyed it even more the second time since I knew what to expect & I could really focus on seeing & hearing the more subtle parts of the production that I had missed the first time.
This play is classic and is well executed by this touring company. Orchestra, actors, and crew performed with excellence. The only bit of oddity was the ability from the center seats to see actors moving into position behind the sets as the play progressed. The sets do not provid paths for unseen entrance for actors entering from "outside" set doors. A minor point in an otherwise excelkent production. The venue is outstanding with superb acoustics, sight lines, and facilities. Seats are comfortable and the building is well maintained.
Excellent play. All the actors did a fabulous job. Highly recommend for anyone.
What an outstanding play! This was such a wonderful night. We took my 83 year old mother & she enjoyed herself so much. The girl who played Annie was extremely talented, but the actress who played Miss Hemelgarn stole the show. The scenery made you feel like you were in the big city. I would totally recommend all ages to see this - money well spent indeed!
This show was well worth the money! My 3 year old absolutely loved it....In addition to my 17 year daughter. It's such a classic Broadway musical...it's loved by all ages and gender. Would recommend to anyone.
I loved Annie.....I only wish they would have had Annie in the red dress and curly hair but other than that I loved the show
I would recommend this show to anyone. It was fantastic and our seats were great.
When I heard this production was "new for today," or something to that effect, I was concerned that it might have been revised to be more "politically correct," Happily, that is not the case. However, I really enjoyed this production--excellent all around. The only minor quibbles I have are that the actress who played Annie had a little trouble hitting her highest and lowest notes, and the actor who played Oliver Warbucks didn't seem quite right for the part, but these points hardly detracted. Still a five-star production overall.
