Young or old, male or female will enjoy this adaption of the original broadway play. The young girl who plays Annie has a wonderful voice and has good stage presence. The "acting' of Sandy was excellent and heartwarming. The girl who played the part of the youngest orphan did an excellent job and was a standout!!
The musical was awesome. It is the second time I have seen it. However the venue start time is 8pm, Way too late. We left the show at 11pm. Intermission was at 940pm. I took the kids out of school early and made them take a nap and fed them candy thruout the show. Pretty pathetic however kids were crying and many of them fell asleep. I spoke to friends who went last year and would not go agin because the late start time.
I have seen Annie at least 6 times at numerous theatres and this performance was my least favorite. I was hoping for a Bushnell quality show - but this did not come close. I was thrilled with Mrs. Hannigans performance and the smallest of the orphans - those two performers stuck out in my mind as exceptional. Annie did not capture my heart and she didn't even have curly hair unti the last few scenes.... and while the curtain in the back kept moving (cast must have been walking back and forth across the back stage) it was a big distraction and my kids repeatedly reminded me of it. The worst part was that it was 3 hours long (started at 8pm) - much two long for a 6 and 7 year old.
It was a wonderful show. I took my 6 and 9 year old girls and they were both fascinated. It was priceless watching them watch the show. We traveled an hour an half each way and it was totally worth it.
Went to see Annie at the Lowell Auditorium 12/6. It was a present for my Mother's 70th bday. My Mother had taken me to see the show 30 years ago in Boston. The show was great ! My Mother commented how nice it was to see a broadway show, without having to go to NY or Boston. The Lowell Auditorium is a great venue, small, up close and personal. I woul recommend this venue and show to everyone !
The show was well done better than I had expected. The talent of all the actors played a major roll in puling off this production
I took my niece (who is almost 5) and my sister to see this. My niece loves Annie and was so excited she could almost not sit still in the car on the way there. I had no expectations since I never really watched Annie as a child. My niece loved it and was moving to the music. My sister and I both said at the end of the show this was the best we have seen in a long time. The singing, the music, the characters (love Miss Hannigan) were fantastic. This is one show not to be missed...I have seen a lot too. Including., Chicago, 42nd Street, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and my favorite Phantom of the Opera. Go you'll love it. I just recommended it to my aunt and one of my friends.
This was my childhood favorite, it was a dream come true to take my daughter for her 12th birthday. Gifted cast!
The play was great, my daughter and I enjoyed it. Although, I realize it is a play that would be seen by young children, some people do not envision the capacity of their child's ability to sit through such a performance. Throughout the entire performance, there were people constantly going in and out of the theater with their children, and by the second half, many needed to leave for home due to the childs behavior.
The cast is incredibly talented and best off-Broadway show we have seen in many years. Annie and the chidren stole the show but the adult actors delivered a memorable performance. The kids in the audience enjoyed seeing the other children perform and especially liked Sandy on stage. Cannot say enough about the orchestra either!
i paid for two lower priced seats knowing i wouldnt be in prime position but being in the second last row from the back under the balcony myself and my 4 year old child could see very little. The 3-4 rows of seats in front of us were not staggered just rows of chairs placed at the back of the auditorium. we left before the end of part one as we were too tired moving left and right to see something of the stage. I did ask for a booster seat for my daughter and they could not provide that either. I cant comment too much on the show itself as we didnt see much! I wont be back to lowell auditorium.
First time going to Lowell Theatre to see a show. Annie was great. The voices of the cast were very strong and pwerful. My two daughters loved the show and my 10 year old son even thought it was great (after kicking and screaming). Highly recomend this show to anyone but especially to young families.
So much talent! Children were great, all of them. Never a dull moment.
The performance was simply wonderful. This is truly an amazing show for kids and the holiday season. The house was full of families celebrating the holidays with this wonderful event. The set was simple, elegant, charming and versitile. The cast was talented, convincing and entertaining. I would go year after year and incorporate the Annie production into our holiday tradition if we can.
I took my daughter to see Annie. What a show it was! The cast was incredible. The young girls were amazing especially Annie and her powerful voice. This was my daughter's first musical and she truly enjoyed it. She can't wait to see more.
Had a wonderful time at Annie on Friday night. Great show! The singing was great. Wonderful cast. Even Sandy (the dog) was great! I would recommend this show to anyone looking for a fun enjoyable night at the Theater. Hard not to sing along with this classic show.
I thought the show was fantastic! Ms. Hannigan was wonderful! She stole the show for laughs! My one problem was seating. We sat in folding chairs considered "Parquet seating". Needless to say, the 5 year olds could hardly see - especially with older children moving/standing constantly in front. Parrents were oblivious until we said something! They should not seat people here knowing that small children are quite common at a show like Annie.
I brought my 8 year old daughter and she stayed awake througout the entire show and it the show ended late for someone that goes to bed at 8:30!!
The show was amazing. I brought my neice and she had a great time.
