I took my 8 year old granddaughter, and we were thrilled with the show...even though it lasted past her bedtime! The singers had beautiful voices...great costumes....scenery was very well done. A memorable event for both of us!

    Annie

by WOWshow on 12/17/09Braden Auditorium - Normal

Great show - Orchestra was well-rehearsed. Music was terrific. Annie, Daddy and Miss Hannigan were top-notch. Loved the dance numbers too. Wish the gi-normous speakers were out of sight. The leg room is best ever - of any theatre we've been in. Snack bar overwhelmed - can't the theatre company set up small shop of soft drinks, water and candy - perhaps make $ for arts?

    Annie was awesome!

    by AnnieFan2 on 12/17/09Braden Auditorium - Normal

The actual musical was awesome. Singing & acting were incredible. Wish it would have started earlier than 7:30 pm as it didn't get over until 10:15. That is too late for a work/school night. We had to travel 40 minutes so it was a very late night.

    Annie was Excellent!

by Neonsock on 12/17/09Braden Auditorium - Normal

My girls and I LOVE the show!!! WAY better than Hannah Montana in concert, which was 3 times more money! Actors were excellent and their voices were clear and on pitch. The kids loved Sandy. The stage was nicely decorated and had a lot of scenery changes to keep your interests. The band in the cockpit was excellent- playing it perfectly like from a CD. We had a great time and will remember this for years to come!

A show my daughters and I will never forget!

    by famof6 on 12/16/09Assembly Hall - Champaign

I took my 9 year old daughters to see "Annie" and we all were amazed at the performances. It was unbelievable. I have seen many musical productions but this one stands out as one of the best. My daughters couldn't take their eyes off the stage. What a great memory the cast created for us.

    ANNIE...lively and fun!!

by twinsntweens on 12/15/09Assembly Hall - Champaign

Great event to share with little ones, cast and story was amazingly entertaining! Songs and characters stick with you long after the last curtain call.....Only drawback was the starting time, with intermission, made for a late night for the kids.....could have eliminated the intermisson or moved up the starting time to be more condusive to the restless children there to enjoy the show.....keep the momentum going.

We thoroughly enjoyed "Annie" last night at Assembly Hall. The sets were incredible, the singing was so good, and all the actors did a great job.

This production of Annie was absolutely fabulous! The characters were so believable and the singing incredible. The actress that played Annie had the most beautiful voice! I was extremely impressed with this production! I was concerned taking my 7 year old that there would be some content that wasn't appropriate but it was nicely done. Especially enjoyed the dancing and singing and thought "Easy Street" was quite funny! Job well done and well worth the ticket price.

    Annie was awesome

by Peepz on 12/10/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I wanted to go see Annie since I was in a former play back in my middle school that we did on this same play. Wow did it ever bring back memories. Everything was great from the actors to the music to the props. Annie herself had an amazing voice. I loved all the orphans and Miss Hanigan. I loved how there was a real dog involved in playing Sandy. I feel that it was put together very well from scene to scene and I feel alot of hard work went into. Great Job to all the cast. They were wonderful. I also liked how Annie was actually played by a little girl clear up to Mr. Warbucks who was an older gentlemen. I love Grace how she was so proper and well dressed to all the staff at Mr. Warbucks home. I would recommend this in a heart beat to a friend. I loved the part where Tess was leaned over with her present and Mr. Warbucks went over and swung her around like nothing and put her with the other children. My husband's favorite part was the song at the opening "It's a hard knock life' when they used the buckets for extra sounds and the brushes.

    Loved it!

by norinew on 12/10/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

It was difficult to find the theater, that was the worst part! But the show itself. . .fantastic! All the performers, every single one, was amazing. Talented. Singing, dancing, acting, all top-rate, even the "extras"! The sets were very well done, almost magical. Transformation from one setting to another was nearly seamless! Sound system and orchestra were also excellent.

    Annie was spectacular!

by RKNM on 12/10/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I thought the show was great! It was a little late start time for the average age of the audience and it lasted pretty late into the night as well. Next time do a matinee! Thanks!

    Surprised!

by PadzFan on 12/10/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this production.I had never seen this show before and only went because I thought my daughter would enjoy the show. She did...but only when the cast was singing and dancing...she thinks the talking is boring. Anyway, I thought the woman who played Ms. Hannigan was very good. Definitely would recommend this show. I really enjoyed this production of Annie.

    A for Annie!

by GoodNuz on 12/10/09Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

Young or old, male or female will enjoy this adaption of the original broadway play. The young girl who plays Annie has a wonderful voice and has good stage presence. The "acting' of Sandy was excellent and heartwarming. The girl who played the part of the youngest orphan did an excellent job and was a standout!!

Annie was great but started too late.

by marianicole on 12/9/09Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

The musical was awesome. It is the second time I have seen it. However the venue start time is 8pm, Way too late. We left the show at 11pm. Intermission was at 940pm. I took the kids out of school early and made them take a nap and fed them candy thruout the show. Pretty pathetic however kids were crying and many of them fell asleep. I spoke to friends who went last year and would not go agin because the late start time.

    Mixed Emotions about Annie~

by TheatreMom22 on 12/8/09Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

I have seen Annie at least 6 times at numerous theatres and this performance was my least favorite. I was hoping for a Bushnell quality show - but this did not come close. I was thrilled with Mrs. Hannigans performance and the smallest of the orphans - those two performers stuck out in my mind as exceptional. Annie did not capture my heart and she didn't even have curly hair unti the last few scenes.... and while the curtain in the back kept moving (cast must have been walking back and forth across the back stage) it was a big distraction and my kids repeatedly reminded me of it. The worst part was that it was 3 hours long (started at 8pm) - much two long for a 6 and 7 year old.

It was a wonderful show. I took my 6 and 9 year old girls and they were both fascinated. It was priceless watching them watch the show. We traveled an hour an half each way and it was totally worth it.

    Annie

by dlb01821 on 12/8/09Lowell Memorial Auditorium - Lowell

Went to see Annie at the Lowell Auditorium 12/6. It was a present for my Mother's 70th bday. My Mother had taken me to see the show 30 years ago in Boston. The show was great ! My Mother commented how nice it was to see a broadway show, without having to go to NY or Boston. The Lowell Auditorium is a great venue, small, up close and personal. I woul recommend this venue and show to everyone !
