Angelique Kidjo is one of the most amazing singers and dancers that I have ever seen in concert. Her energy level and talents are most out-of-this-world!

by yovo on 2/9/14Hayti Heritage Center - DurhamFor a solid two hours, Angelique and her band put on a high-energy and high-quality performance at the Hayti. Intimate setting, great acoustics, awesome voice! For the last 20 Minutes, Brenton Marsalis joined the band with his saxophone ... wow! And then Angelique invited the audience on stage and the concert turned into a big party. What an evening!
Rating: 5 out of 5 An amazing experience
by Talesha on 2/8/14Hayti Heritage Center - DurhamThe concert was so amazing. I had only heard a few songs from her and when the opportunity came I bought tickets. Wow I was so amazed. She is so very down to earth and the people were dancing from beginning to end. There was a group of people that never sat the entire concert hehe. It was great!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Angelique Kidjo: A life changing event!
by AllNicknamesTakenAlready on 2/8/14Hayti Heritage Center - DurhamFor over two hours this ball of fire never stopped! She sang her heart out (and Oh, My God, what a voice!!) danced, talked with the audience and gave of her glorious positive energy to all who were there. This is my second Angelique Kidjo concert and while the first one was fabulous, this went so far beyond as to have been life altering. I walked (OK, floated) out of there feeling better about a world that has such people in it. The glow continues a week later. LOVE THAT LADY! And clearly so did the rest of the audience. More than half were singing along, dancing in the aisles, making eye contact with strangers and just smiling at each other. The sharing of the experience was every bit as wonderful as the concert itself!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Great show, nice venue
by elvisboy77 on 2/8/14Hayti Heritage Center - DurhamKidjo put on a fantastic show, 2 hours non stop. She invited the audience up on the stage to dance with her, pretty cool. I love the Hayti Heritage center, it is a really nice small venue.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Afro-Carribean Fusion with a burst of culture
by LoveMusicATL on 10/16/12Chan Centre for the Performing Arts - VancouverAngelique Kidjo was so much more than I expected. Although see sang beautifully, I wasn't expecting the native dancing and crowd particpation. We thoroughtly enjoyed ourselves. At one point in the concert, she had everyone (about 95% of the crowd), on our feet. The band is also amazing. Do not hestitate to buy tickets because they are well worth the price.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Angelique Kidjo in DC
by BigMamaMo on 4/4/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonGreat show. Gave it 4 stars because the stage was not well lit. When she approached the edge of the state towards the audience, she performed there without any spotlight.

Rating: 5 out of 5 life-altering
by Ads93 on 3/27/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonIt started off as a relatively formal event, as most people (of all ages) were dressed up. Angelique was dynamite and started her setlist. Everyone was sitting, maybe clapping along. At about the third song in, an older man starts dancing, by himself, in the front of the middle aisle. After this man started dancing, people (of varying ages) from all over the auditorium started standing up and dancing right at their seats. It was a little silly, but then more people started dancing, and more people, and then I started dancing, and every single person (who was capable) got up, out of their seats and started dancing. It was an extremely moving experience that brought together people of all ages and ethnicities together for the love of African music.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Angelique was AMAZING!
by Aemirfa on 3/27/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonThis woman had people up and dancing during her first song. By the end of the concert, half the venue was on stage dancing with her, and the remaining was out of their seats dancing. The concert ended with a drum "circle". Loved this experience, and will definitely see her again.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Angelique was absolutely fantastic!!!!
by ChyChy31 on 3/26/12Lisner Auditorium, GWU - WashingtonAngelique's show as always was absolutely fantastic. She had the crowd completely pumped up and excited. This is the first time my husband went to her show and he loved it. She gets her audience involved in her songs and gives her fans a chance to come up to the stage to dance. I will definitely recommend anyone to catch her show when she is around and can't wait to see her the next time she comes to this area.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Angelique Kidjo sang her heart out!
by Rochelle222 on 3/26/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonSinging, dancing and prancing, Kidjo ha the audience enthralled every minute. She invited the audience onto the stage for a sing-a-long and and dance-a-long. People danced in the aisles throughout the concert and demanded two encores. It was probably the best, most exhilerating concert I have ever attended.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Angelique Kidjo: Inspiring, Invigorating, Inviting
by deanette on 3/26/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonThe voice, the energy, the warm fierce spirit, the inviting passion, could not have made more a more perfect celebration of life and my birthday!!! I invited 14 of my friends to join me and most of them had not experienced Angelique before and they were very happy they came! She is a truly inspiring force of life that invites all to dance, to move, to celebrate, to think, to live, to accept. I sincerely hope she graces us every year!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Hi-Energy Afro Pop
by MAlexis on 3/26/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonGreat show, alebit a litttle short. Maybe its because I have been a fan of Angelique Kidjo for years that I was disappointed that she did not play more of her international favorites. She could have stayed out for another hour. Great crowd, great energy, great music, great message.
