First time for my two brothers to watch a live musical so this is extra special for me. We all enjoyed the experience! Kudos to all the performers! This was really enjoyable! We love Anastasia from the animated film since we were still kids! This is truly a journey to the past for all of us!

    One of the best!

by Rocky on 5/1/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

We loved Anastasia - a great storyline, exceptional score and performances. It’s honestly great for family, couples and friends. We were truly pleasantly surprised at how good it is, I have seen all the big Broadway shows and this is def one of my fav ones! Hope it makes it back to NY, would love to take more family to watch it over there.

    Flat and dull

by Amberrr on 5/1/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

With the exception of Lily, the characters of this play were one-dimensional, boring, and tedious to watch after a while. I wish I had left at the intermission. The costumes and singing were beautiful, as was the set design, but that could not overcome the lack of interesting roles and slow-moving storyline.

    Loved it!

by Ash on 4/30/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

I thought the performance was outstanding. Only one small point of contention, at some parts it was hard to hear the words to the songs being sung.

    Best show I’ve seen!

by DazzleMeDani on 4/14/23Peoria Civic Center - Peoria

I loved this show. Though very familiar with the general story of Anastasia, I was limited in my knowledge of the stage production and all the musical numbers. There was a lot of little surprises I enjoyed. The show was funny and heartfelt, worry and romance. The performers were amazing! I wasn’t close enough to see all their facial expressions but their voices and overall performances were top notch. I’d love to see the show again and would recommend it to everyone!!!

Excellent show! Theater could use improvement.

by Cookie on 4/14/23Peoria Civic Center - Peoria

The musical was absolutely beautiful with great scenery and sound and light effects. The actors really drew you into the story. Improvements could be made to the ladies restrooms by improving the smell. There was a very odd smell, besides the obvious smells. We were also surprised by the prices of the snacks and drinks ( $6.72 for a lemonade in Central Illinois). Other than that, we had a very enjoyable evening.

For being a “Touring” Play, I was kind of disappointed

by AMM on 4/14/23Peoria Civic Center - Peoria

I was really excited for this musical and drove 3 hours to Peoria in order to see it. My friend and I got good seats for a good price and I had very high expectations. However, I was kind of disappointed. The actress playing Anya felt like she was trying to hard to sing parts that didn’t require the amount of effort she was giving (belting when she didn’t need to) and then was too quiet during other parts of songs to the point I couldn’t hear her. This was also a problem with the antagonist, who would also get quiet while singing and it’d become hard to hear him. I also felt the show relied too heavily on their screens to tell the story through the background. The screens were really cool at times but also broke the immersion when someone would walk behind a “window” but you couldn’t see them through the window. I know it’s a traveling play so they can’t build super complicated sets but they also relied way too much on the screens. I also felt that Anya and Demetri had absolutely no chemistry. The “flirting” felt rather forced and abrupt and quite cringey. Vlad and Lily, on the other hand, were fantastic! Their scenes were probably my favorite in the show! The music itself, was also very good. I had a hard time not singing along to most of the music! I’m glad I got to see it but was expecting a higher quality show, unfortunately.

    Good Acting Singing

by Masha M on 3/13/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Very good acting and singing and dancing! One scene almost made my cry! Very good and full of emotion! The only reason why I wouldn’t rate this show as a 5 star is because of the casting choices. When Tsar Nikolay II walked out and was a plus sized Indian, I was shook. The way he walked wasn’t elegant at all since he was so big. But then, when a Russian communist was a black guy, I couldn’t even understand the role that he was playing until a couple scenes in. I truly believe that casting should be done appropriately to the history of how things happened. Otherwise, all the actors did a good job singing and acting and dancing!

    Beautiful, well done!

    by r. e. on 3/12/23

The show was beautiful, the costumes and music made my heart warm! They kept original popular songs, iconic outfits but definitely changed some of the story line. Don’t like how they distanced Demetri and not allowed him to be a part of her childhood past and how they incorporated the music box differently, it threw me off - but it’s truly a beautiful show. Recommend.

Fantastic voices, acting/dancing, and the sets were phenomenal! Would have liked at least one song to be familiar enough to hum on the way home!!

Good show, less than stellar logistics

by Ren on 3/5/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

My show date was rescheduled for an unknown reason one week prior to the date that I had planned to attend. Unfortunately, the notification email that I received didn’t particularly stand out from the other emails I received from ticket master so I didn’t read it. We were able to return on the proper date and had a good experience, but ticket master should manage their rescheduling better!

    Mediocre

by Annie on 3/4/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Definitely one of the worst shows I’ve seen. Acting was very mediocre and the show was slowwwwww. A few of the actors were amazing with great voices - but would not recommend this one unfortunately.

    Okay

by Aba on 3/3/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I have loved this story ever since I was a child. To see it live was so exciting but I felt quite underwhelmed. The storyline was a bit slow for me and I found myself nodding off and wanting it to end. The performers were fantastic with beautiful voices. But overall I wasn’t too impressed.
