2015 Tony Award® winner CHRISTOPHER WHEELDON directs and choreographs a remarkable company of 25 international and Broadway virtuosos as they bring the magic and romance of Paris into perfect harmony with Tony Award®-winning orchestrations of unforgettable works by GEORGE GERSHWIN AND IRA GERSHWIN, including such classics as “I’ll Build A Stairway to Paradise,” “I Got Rhythm” and “The Man I Love.”
Don’t miss this fresh and breathtakingly beautiful new musical about a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in the four-time Tony Award®-winning production that earned more awards than any other musical in the 2014–15 season, including Best Musical of the Year from both the Outer Critics Circle and the Drama League. As the Wall Street Journal says, “Once you’ve seen it, you’ll find it hard to settle for less ever again.”

The music, the ballet, the marvellous artists... Unforgetable. Very good show.
The dancing was excellent--more like a ballet than a Broadway musical. But the story was extremely weak, almost non-existent.
This was a great performance!!! The music and lyrics by Gershwin, the dancing was superb, the ballet dancers/actors made the whole production flow. The play could have gone on and on - it just made you feel like getting up and dancing and singing too. This is one of the best plays that I've seen in a while. It is a real feel good time! I might even have to go back and see it again! Just Wonderful!!!
Acting and dance performers were exquisite. The show was truly fantastic.
What a wonderful show Loved the ballet dancing so clever An amazing show with a talented cast
This was the most enjoyable show !!!! Loved singing, dancing, sets, costumes!!
We loved An American in Paris. It was so much more than we expected. The dancing was unbelievable, so beautiful. It was beautifully presented. Thanks for a very emotional show. The music, of course, is the best and the performers were great!
First of all it's Gershwin! Great music and singing. Great casting and storyline. But it's the dancing. The leads are magical dancers, their second act "American In Paris" ballet brought several audience members to their feet and there were shouts of "bravo". Choreography at it's finest.
Amazing set, beautiful dancing, great songs, funny, one of the best Broadway shows I've seen!
Best choreography ever seen in Broadway! Wish it could last longer!!
Loved every minute of it. We know the movie well but this stage production was truly amazing. Of course the Gershwin music was great but I can't say enough about the dance. Not your typical tap dancing. Lots of elegant ballet but not enough to turn someone off who thinks they don't like ballet.
The talent is superb from the choreography, to the dancing. Not sure how they will keep it up with all the energy the cast produces. The dancing is superb, the singing is superb and the music is Gershwin. What else can you say. The plot line is a little hard to follow (there are three suitors) especially at the beginning of act 2 which could use some simplifying but otherwise an excellent evening's entertainment. We have seen two to three shows a year for the last 40 years. I would not place this in the top 10 overall but it would probably be in the top 25.
The Broadway musical is alive and better than ever! The choreography in the show is off the charts – playful and complex, a mix of Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins, and Paul Taylor – danced by an exquisitely trained company. The two leads have an amazing chemistry and are a joy to watch. The sets are dreamy and exquisite, and Gershwin never sounded better. The script is sluggish in parts but it's ok - music and dance are never far behind. A must-see for dance lovers!
a must see. One of the best plays I have ever seen. A grand tribute to Gershwin
Marvelous dancing and choreography, Pleased with the different and more serious spin on the story. Great production numbers. A well-executed and conceived musical.
From the first scene with a stage empty except for a lone piano to last scene walking into the moonlight of Paris the show entertains. The dancing is superb. The singing very enjoyable and the scenery is amazing. What agreat to see this production. Hurry before it is too, late.
The best dance show I have seen since the original West Side Story. And when you think about it, it's because we have another real choreographer. The is not some Broadway baby doing short dances to fill the music. . Finally -a talented creative brilliant ballet person creating magic with the most wonderful dancers in the city. These are ballet trained disciplined performers. Every movement is perfect and beautiful And the leads are outstanding major dancers who also act(as many dancers do) and sing well. The staging is perfect. The movement of scenery on and off the set is subtle and becomes a part of the performance. The book is simple but works well. And the music is Gershwin. Who could ask for anything more?
If you like dancing, do yourselves a favor and see this show. My earlier career was as a professional dancer, and I think this is no doubt the best dancing show I have ever seen, and that includes "West Side Story". The show is an 'homage' to the film and even to it's choregoraphy. And without using film, the sets create an illusion that is quite cinematic. See this show as soon as you can... I cannot praise it more highly.
Robbie was great. I had no idea he was a singer as well as a great dancer. And Chris chorepgraphy and overall presentation of the show is his best ever. Go see it!
Christopher Wheeldon has done a really beautiful choreography for this Broadway musical, and it's a complete success. Not a step was forgotten, or missed. Yes, it's a ballet you're going to see, with one big tap number in the middle, but it is a wonderful retelling of the Gene Kelley movie "American in Paris". Take time, get your tickets and Go!
