About

AMY GRANT IN CONCERT:

In the '80s, singer-songwriter Amy Grant parlayed her fame as a Christian recording artist into one of the most successful crossover stories of the decade, topping the mainstream pop charts with adult contemporary hits like "The Next Time I Fall" and "Baby Baby." Since then, Grant has continued to wow fans with her angelic vocals and penchant for pop hooks, earning a reputation as an energetic and inspiring live performer. In 2014, Grant will treat fans with a string of solo tour stops as well as her performances on An Evening with Amy Grant and Vince Gill, her nationwide tour with Vince Gill.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“I saw Amy Grant almost 30 years ago, and it was wonderful to see her again. She played a lot of old hits in addition to the new, and hit just about every one of my favorites!”

“This latest tour is another wonderful example of why I keep coming back. Amy is Amy; she's refreshing, rejuvenating, delightful. I always leave her shows feeling inspired and reconnected to the human experience.”

“Her warm and engaging style makes you feel like she is singing just to you or that you are visiting in her living room.”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Amy Grant undoubtedly holds the title of most accomplished Christian music artist in history, selling more albums than any other entertainer in her genre. Her ‘80s hits “El Shaddai,” “My Father’s Eyes” “and “Angels” have become contemporary Christian classics, and her crossover to mainstream music also met with phenomenal success. In 1986 Grant reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “The Next Time I Fall in Love,” a duet with Pete Cetera, topping the charts again in 1992 with ubiquitous hit “Baby, Baby." She has received multiple Grammy and Dove Awards, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2003.

    Living room concert

by Eireland on 11/16/09BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Amy's stage presence and interaction with the audience was warm and very personal. She communicated on a level of familiarity not unlike that of being at home with a group of friends. The instrumentals and singing were everything I had expected...in a good way, but sometimes the lyrics got lost in the overall sound of a piece. I've enjoyed Amy's music for many years and appreciated the opportunity to experience a live performance.

    Amy Had An Off Night

by Tuffyb on 11/14/09BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I have seen Amy Grant in concert (with the Huntsville, AL symphony) before and that show was wonderful. The show last night at the BJCC was not as good. The first half was very good overall, and then after an intermission, the wind just seemed to have gone out of her sails. Most of the second half was taken up with songs played by the orchestra only, Amy's teenage daughter singing a song, and other similar sorts of things to detract from a show which should have been lovely. She sang more of her religious songs last night, which was OK, but I prefer her other "pop" songs by far. Don't know what the problem was, other than Amy's niece trying to deliver a baby in a Nashville hospital while the concert was going on (Amy spent a lot of time introducing family members who were present and talking about others who weren't, which was OK, but took time up which could have been spent playing her music, which is what we came for, right??), but I was disappointed. I would still probably go see her again, however, and would probably encourage others to go, as well, despite the letdown last night.

    Amy Grant

by LH1917 on 11/14/09BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Very entertaining show by an unpretentious star. Only disappointment was, even though the crowd wanted a curtain call for at least one more song, Amy just came out and took a bow.

    Amy Grant was awesome!

by Chuck56 on 11/14/09BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Thoroughly enjoyed Amy Grant. She was warm and engaging throughout the concert. The symphony was very good. We especially enjoyed the first piece that they performed before Amy took the stage. Amy's back up band was very talented with each being featured at different times. Having Amy's daugher and step daughter on stage with her was a nice touch. Amy sang a nice blend of her Christain and pop hits. Very enjoyable concert.

Amy Grant was fantastic. She played many of her classic tunes. I was particularly mesmorized with her song Thy Word. I wish she had done an encore (perhaps Baby, Baby). The audience gave her a standing ovation at the end of the concert and clapped laoudly; she came out and bowed to the audeince, but there was no encore.

Amy Grant's concert was a night to remember!

by DanRD on 9/14/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree City

Amy Grant presented a very personal show. She has an excellent way with the audience and draws us all in. There were moments when we saw her less than perfect side when she played a wrong chord or forgot the words, yet we adored her for it. The selection of music she performed was well-chosen, drawing from all time periods over the last 30 years that we have followed her career and gone to her concerts. We enjoyed the selections where she played on her acoustic guitars, and sang solo, reminiscent of our earliest concert memories of her. It was definitely a night to remember.

    Amy Grant was incredible!

by Pete1986 on 9/14/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree City

Amy was so genuine & down-to-earth & seemed to have as much fun with the audience as we did with her. Her voice is still incredibly beautiful, and so is she - inside & out. Saw her twice in the 80s & enjoyed those concerts as well, but they were just so big - in this intimate setting she shined like I have never seen her before. She made everyone in the audience feel like a long-time friend. Would definitely see her again, especially at the Fred.

This event was great. The Fred is a great place to see a concert. Amy performed great in this intimate setting and her humor and interaction with the crowd made the event even better.

Amy Grant rocked the Fred Ampitheater!

by amyfan on 9/14/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree City

Amy Grant sang many of her older pop hits including House of Love, Baby,Baby, El Shaddai and I Will Remember You. She sang a few new songs including one about her ex father in law, who passed away on Easter Sunday. The song was about going to heaven and waiting for the rest of his family to arrive.

by tabreader on 9/12/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree City

Great night for a show, I had seen the Amy Grant\Vince Gil Christmas at the Fox and what a good show. She was funny, looked wonderful and what a personality. She actually "boo boo'd" with a song and just laughed it off and re-started. I loved it.

    Amy Grant Concert

by GaDuffer on 9/12/09Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater - Peachtree City

A great performance by a great lady. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She took comments/song requests, yelled out at her, in stride and down-played the interruptions with humor. Her music and voice are both timeless. If you have a chance to see her in concert - GO!
