AMY GRANT IN CONCERT:

In the '80s, singer-songwriter Amy Grant parlayed her fame as a Christian recording artist into one of the most successful crossover stories of the decade, topping the mainstream pop charts with adult contemporary hits like "The Next Time I Fall" and "Baby Baby." Since then, Grant has continued to wow fans with her angelic vocals and penchant for pop hooks, earning a reputation as an energetic and inspiring live performer. In 2014, Grant will treat fans with a string of solo tour stops as well as her performances on An Evening with Amy Grant and Vince Gill, her nationwide tour with Vince Gill.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“I saw Amy Grant almost 30 years ago, and it was wonderful to see her again. She played a lot of old hits in addition to the new, and hit just about every one of my favorites!”

“This latest tour is another wonderful example of why I keep coming back. Amy is Amy; she's refreshing, rejuvenating, delightful. I always leave her shows feeling inspired and reconnected to the human experience.”

“Her warm and engaging style makes you feel like she is singing just to you or that you are visiting in her living room.”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Amy Grant undoubtedly holds the title of most accomplished Christian music artist in history, selling more albums than any other entertainer in her genre. Her ‘80s hits “El Shaddai,” “My Father’s Eyes” “and “Angels” have become contemporary Christian classics, and her crossover to mainstream music also met with phenomenal success. In 1986 Grant reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “The Next Time I Fall in Love,” a duet with Pete Cetera, topping the charts again in 1992 with ubiquitous hit “Baby, Baby." She has received multiple Grammy and Dove Awards, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2003.

    Phenominal Amy

by REMPM on 4/21/10Forest Hills Fine Arts Center - Grand Rapids

Drove 6 hours to see this show and was not disappointed. Amy's voice was pure and she sounded fantastic. The acoustics of the auditorium were great and you could see the stage perfectly from any seat. It was nice to close your eyes and listen to the soft guitar and the angelic voice of Amy singing songs that I have enjoyed throughout the years. The band was also great, you can tell when you are working with real talent. The whole team seemed to be having a great time and enjoying what they were doing. I hope she decides to add Columbus Ohio to the schedule I would like to do it again.

An Evening with Amy Grant , an old friend

by Zeelandgirl on 4/19/10Forest Hills Fine Arts Center - Grand Rapids

I've been listening to Amy's music since 1979, through both the periods of Christian and cross-over pop as well as cherished Christmas songs. Loved to her the old favorites like the opening song Yellow Taxi as well as a few of the new songs. Amy has always talked to her audience like shes an old friend in between songs which makes her down to earth. It was very refreshing to see her perform with a minimum of other singers and instruments. Came out of the concert having enjoyed a great several hours of excellent music. Thanks Amy!

    Amazing & Intimate Performance

by MW44 on 4/18/10Forest Hills Fine Arts Center - Grand Rapids

What started out to be just tickets to a small concert to one of our favorite artists turned out to be what seemed like a personal performance just for us. The Forest Hills Fine Arts Center performance hall was perfect, small and acousticly awesome. We love the way Amy interacted with us with us the spectater. Me, my wife and our daughter (15) were about about half way back on the floor so we could see the expressions and feel the message in her voice. Amy, you sing about angels watching over us, but you are the angel and your truly reached right into our soul. I thought tickets were a little expensive at first at $48 but now I realize they were worth much more. One of my favorite previous concerts was the Amy Grant, Michael W Smith, Point of Grace concert at the Van Andel a few years back but you topped that this time. Thanks for singing to me Amy and thanks god for your beautiful voice, please come back soon.

Amy Grant has matured over the years and her singing brings out life expericences of a Christian walking life's path, overcoming divorce and raising children. Amy allowed the audience to suggest songs, and she made the event very intimate. Even when she struggled with one song, she made you feel part of the event. I have followed Amy Grant since she first started to perform, and the two hours just flew by. I miss the old songs that started her singing career, but the new songs are much more relevant for me today, since i'm in my fifties. The Forrest Hills Fine Arts Center is a great venture for entertainers that want to feel intimate with the audience, and I would recommend it to everyone in Western Michigan. Amy Grant gave some insight of her personal life, prom for daughter, boys dating daughters, friends that have died, and divorce. All of the conversations with the audience put a "real face" on Amy which really helps you listen to the words she writes in her songs. Next time, and I hope she continues to perform in public, I'm getting seats closer to the stage because Amy still has the Great smile and I enjoy seeing the enthusiaism in her performing on stage. The encore could of used a couple of songs, one song goes way to fast, but she is almost fify and needs to call it a night sooner than when she was seventeen.

Amy Grant hit a home run!

by Duffydog on 4/18/10Forest Hills Fine Arts Center - Grand Rapids

After a some what bumpy start, Amy got in the grove and delivered a deeply meaningful performance. Touching on personal challenges she has faced along with funny and touching stories, Amy won over the Grand Rapids audience with grace, style and tremendous talent. She and her band delivered over two hours of non-stop songs both new, older classics and those that have never been recorded. Each one was delivered from the heart and had the audience captured. I would highly recommend going to an Amy Grant concert. The experience of watching this incredibility talented artist is well worth the ticket price and will leave you feeling great.

Amy's performance at Forest Hills was wonderfully intimate. She sang a good mix of new songs from her latest release, Somewhere Down the Road, as well as many old favorites. She really has a gift for connecting with her audiences and her shows are always fun. This show was no exception to that rule!

    Amy Never Disappoints!

by OrangePiano on 4/6/10Pepperdine University - Malibu

Amy does a great show! The venues may be smaller these days but the shows are always top notch. She always manages to assemble a great band that can put a fresh spin on her classic tunes. This group of musicians manages to add a little new flavor which compliments her great songs. She performs for a solid 2 hours with no break giving her audience their money's worth and then some. I've followed Amy's career from the beginning and can honestly say I became a huge fan from day one and remain so to this day. She has great taste in music and writes awesome lyrics and melodies. The styles have varied from pop to rock to country over the years but always great music that never disappoints. She is in a class by herself and it's easy to see why she rose to the top of the list of Christian musicians of our day.

I've waited 25 years to see this woman who impacted my life so much through her music. It was an intimate venue and easy to get to. Amy is a warm, down to earth lady who has a great sense of humor and doesn't put on any airs. She made me feel right at home . 2 hours went by fast and I could've stayed for more. If your looking for frills and theatrics this is not the show for you. Just good ole music with a warm and comfortable feeling. I certainly got what I needed from it.

Amy Grant was great as usual

by ACWettig on 3/5/10Pepperdine University - Malibu

What a wonderful show Amy put on. She's a great performer and definitely showed it (again) why last night. What made it better was she performed in a smaller venue which made it that much more personal. I recommend everyone see her, whether you've been a fan or just a casual listener of her music.
