Kansas City was priviledged to host the finals of the Champion Bull Riders league in Kemper Arena. If you are a fan of bull riding at all this was an event that you must attend. This is the real deal. 8 time champion Donnie Gay added color and credibility to the peformance as the announcer. You could clearly see this was the best of the best in all aspects. The bulls were top-notch, the riders were what you would expect in a championship round, and the bull fighters (sometimes called rodeo clowns) were the best I have seen in some time. The bull fighters were fast, brave and knowledgeable and save the riders from serious injury on several occasions including one time when the rider was hung in the bull rope.
The only disappointment was the attendence. A show of this magnitude should have been better attended. Surely, there are more bull riding fans in KC. Maybe the CBR should have done a better job of advertising. The word will get out, that is is a great league and an outstanding product and hopefully KC will have another opportunity to host the finals.
