About

Allen Stone is an R&B / soul singer from Chewelah, WA. The son of the pastor of the local church, he was immersed in gospel from an early age until he found funk and soul as a teenager through Stevie Wonder’s Innversions. Billboard has praised his “disarmingly soulful vocals” and WXPN says "his energetic shows, plus his warm and evocative albums, explain why Stone has such a solid fan base". Allen released his 3rd studio album in 2019 called Building Balance that includes hit songs Brown Eyed Lover, Sunny Days, and Consider Me. Building Balance is a textured amalgam of R&B and soul, which saw Stone draw inspiration from ‘70s funk and punctuate his music with modern pop flourishes. His latest release, a cover of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”, is the first song off his upcoming acoustic album APART, due to releases Nov 12th. “This album was a way to pay homage to the songs that have been my foundational support for the last decade, and to also pay homage to all the people who’ve loved these songs over the years,” says Stone. He has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well as the Special Olympics opening ceremony, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and has been a guest mentor on American Idol.

    Huge disappointment

by Dave M on 10/23/223TEN Austin City Limits Live - Austin

Huge disappointment To go see him lead a karaoke party. He wasn’t singing, just a dream acting as an emcee while amateur singers did their best to impress. It was certainly not something we should have purchased tickets to watch.

    Disappointed and Confused

    by D & C on 10/23/223TEN Austin City Limits Live - Austin

Didn’t realize the concept for this show. I can’t really call it a concert, which is what we were all hoping for. It was only 1.5hours and I think we heard 20 minutes of Allen singing his songs. Definitely didn’t plan on listening to others sing karaoke for the bulk of the night. Definitely could have skipped this for the price and the travel (airfare/hotel/etc). However, when he did sing it was wonderful. Just wished for more, a lot more!!

    Best Ever!

by Bama girl on 10/20/22The Loft - Atlanta

I drove from Montgomery, Alabama to the awesome venue called “The Loft” in Atlanta to see this amazing artist! I paid extra for the VIP experience and BOY…. it did not disappoint! The VIP swag was perfect and my husband and I had the opportunity to not just speak to him, but to also get a picture with him. It was a general admission/standing room only venue however we were able to secure a spot in the front row! It was like being invited to a private party with him. The icing on the cake was getting to sing karaoke on stage with him! Sooo fun! Can’t wait to see him again!

Allen Stone is such a great entertainer along with being one of the best singers in the world. He connects with the crowd...he had us laughing, crying, singing. If you've never seen him live, it's a highly recommend.

Allen Stone is amazing… but where is the band?

by yodadrum on 2/11/22Summit - Denver

It seems that post-pandemic, more artists are traveling solo and that’s totally understandable. Supporting an entire band and crew is expensive and potentially limiting due to covid outbreaks. However it seems that artist have also become more coy about the experience that the guest is paying for. At $35/per in a good size room (1,000+) I certainly wasn’t expecting a “solo” show… and a couple of backup singers don’t give me that shot of energy I’d appreciate from a full band. Stone was pitch perfect and entertaining as a live performer but the “show” left quite a bit to be desired

    Excellent

by Tracy on 2/8/22Ace of Spades - Sacramento

They don’t make them like Allen Stone anymore, he is a true musician. He is not a one hit wonder like the majority of music we hear today. He’s in the category of the late greats, Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway. I will go see Allen Stone anytime, anywhere on any day.

    Amazing concert in wonderful venue

by Sacramento on 2/8/22Ace of Spades - Sacramento

And the concert was hands-down one of the best that I’ve ever been to, and such a great way to enjoy my first concert since March 2020. Alan was fantastic live, so charismatic, and hilarious, which made the whole thing all that much better! The venue was great, somehow fitting a ton of people but still being incredibly intimate. Everyone was respectful, there were multiple bars, and the merchandise was reasonably priced. The only thing I would have liked better was if the venue specified that 7:30 meant “doors at 7:30”

by Alex on 2/8/22Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Allen Stone, man, what a natural performer. Sings like he means it, makes you feel like dancing and loving at the same time. So connected to the crowd and funny as hell. Venue was packed and I had to watch through peoples heads, but the sound was great and the vibes were real. Yessir!

    Late Show

by Specialkay on 2/8/22Ace of Spades - Sacramento

My first time seeing Allen Stone in concert was made memorable by how late (90 minutes) it started and how devoted his fans are. When he finally came in stage, strangely clad in what looked like cropped pants , a blazer and shoes reminiscent of the saddle shoes I wore as a little girl, someone said “ oh look! He dressed up!” The screeching and yelling began immediately, and continued thru every, and I mean EVERY , song. Allen has a lovely voice, and some gorgeous songs, and beautiful stage technique, coupled with an ease on stage and a great rapport with his audience- if only they would shut up. After listening to his first few songs I got the impression he was channeling/ incorporating / influenced by singers like Luther and Cher, and a few other great R&B singers I’ve seen and heard. And I was right. He talked about it a bit between songs. I wish the concert could have been a bit longer to make up for the late start, as I wanted to hear more. He was there with just him and two wonderful backup singers that at times were hard to hear, no band jr other musicians. Maybe next time he’ll have a full band to give him a fuller sound.
