  • Tickets to perfection.

by Carol on 2/1/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Al DiMeola is an absolute master on the fretboard. Opening with "Wizard"and from there it was pure perfection. The entire band, played so tight, just mind blowing !!! If he were playing a second night, I would have gone to that performance as well. At the end of the show, standing next to the stage, he walked up to me and handed me a PICK. One of the roadies gave me a set list as well. Complete with a photo with him, during the meet and greet, what more could one ask for? I have always wanted to see him live-and he was even better than anticipated. I hope he returns soon as I am there !!!

What a treat to see the great Al Dimeola in such an intimate theater like the Parker. It was an amazing show!

Al Di Meola is absolutely the greatest guitarist alive. The concert hall was a perfect venue for him.

Fantastic concert by Al Dimeola! Also, the Parker is a great venue.

  • Exceptional Musicians - Technical challenges

by MannyR on 1/31/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

First, the positive; parking was easy, the venue was clean and in great shape, and the greeters were extremely nice. Now the downside; the show started 30 minutes late, allegedly because the meet and greet session took longer than expected. Then, during the show, the musicians struggled in multiple occasions with the sound system and keyboard computer. Of course, as professionals, they made the best out of it and handled it very well. Overall, a surreal experience delivered by one of the best guitarist of our time. Al Di Meola not only is great in his musical technique but also very relatable to his audience. I would go back to his concert next week if I could! ;-)

  • Great concert, Al rocks

by AnilN on 1/31/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The music was superb, Al has not lost his touch. My only complaint was the stage setup, from where we were sitting , a few rows back to the left of the stage seats j9 and J11, the drummer was completely invisible hidden behind the keyboards and some strange blue cloth covering some equipment. This considerably diminished the enjoyment of the band as we could not see the drummer playing, and he sounded really good. Surprised that such a rookie mistake was made and nobody noticed it. Also not sure why the drummer and percussionist were playing behind glass panels. The drummer should have sat on a raised platform so he could be seen by the whole crowd.

  • Guitar Master Al do Meola

by Vassilis on 1/31/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Al di Meola and his Electric Band has been an unbelievable experience. From the first note to the last, one can appreciate what a hard work and endless hours of practicing can achieve. The future piece of Al’s upcoming album shows that the best is yet to come. Hope of good health and many more years of making music.

  • Al is back; Incredible performance.

by EK on 1/31/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I have ever seen. A chance to see a virtuoso at the top of his game. The songs really come alive played electric. Al is in the pantheon of guitar greats. If you love guitar, do not miss this show.

  • Pure Dynamite

by RCS on 1/31/24Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Al perform again after a few years and I was absolutely blown away. The all-electric show brought me back to the 70's, especially with Al sporting his black Les Paul (Elegant Gypsy album cover) and first time playng his song Casino live. Bravo Al👏🏻

I had big expectations but what I got was way beyond it. It was hard to believe that Al Di Meola is already 70! Thank you very much! It was just great!

Al DiMeola always is a full on power performance, from Tour De Force on to this latest concert... what a ride. Thank you for the over 50 years of mastery!

  • Beyond Amazing!

I’ve seen Al several times acoustically, but this is the first time with his electric band, and all I can say is wow… Completely speechless. Blown away!

  • Great concert, great venue!

by Elliott on 6/10/23The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first concert at The Magnolia and it certainly won't be my last from the parking to the comfortable seats, this was the perfect venue to see and enjoy Al Di Meola!

  • Twenty-Five Thousand Notes in 90 Minutes

by Larry B on 6/10/23The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 4 out of 5

Al DiMeola played superbly with his trio, which consisted of a second guitarist and a percussionist. It was an acoustic show with Al and the other guitarist (whose name I can't recall) playing steel string acoustics. The Magnolia seats 1200, so it was a perfect venue for the show with superb sound. The only minor complaint is that the guitars got a bit compressed and thin when strummed very loudly, probably due to the pickups being used. The performance was outstanding. I haven't followed Al's career, so I wasn't familiar with the songs played. They are in the jazz vein with complex chords, shifting time signatures and precisely executed single-string runs. However, they don't contain specific melodies for the most part, making them challenging for those who don't play music. The musicianship itself was flawless, of course. Al is an extremely talented guitarist with no discernible limits to his technique. The second guitarist was similarly talented. They both easily played long synchronized runs, and would switch back and forth between lead and rhythm duties within a song. They also employed sympathetic chord voicings in a song to really bring out the best in a given piece of music. The group played for about 50-60 minutes, then took a break of about 20 minutes. They returned to the stage for another 35-40 minutes. Instead of taking encores, Al got up between songs and told some anecdotes from a forthcoming book. Some interesting background about his student days at Berklee, joining Return to Forever and his parent's reactions to his early career. Overall, a wonderful evening spent with an awesome and warm musician.

  • Beautiful intimate experience

by Beverley S on 6/10/23The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

I went because my husband admires Al Di Meola but I found myself tearing up several times. So beautiful and this setting at The Magnolia made it feel even more intimate. Truly a beautiful night with my hubby.

  • Impressed first timer

by sdpayne on 6/10/23The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

I've never heard of this artist and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see him live to get the full experience for my first time. He's very talented along with his bandmates. The drummer was really good too. The speed of their hands on an instrument is a Wow factor. The concert didn't have dancers or anything in the background nor did it need it. Each song was a story and I was fascinated. ✨️

  • Concert

    by Guitarfan on 6/5/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 2 out of 5

Buying tickets and entry process was seamless. However I was disappointed in Al DiMeola's new music. It was a wild jumble of notes played as fast as possible, loud, with sharp-ear-piercing guitar tones. His solo with the female percussionist before intermission was fantastic though and More like himself!

  • Very disappointed

    by Tonyfs on 6/5/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 2 out of 5

The theater was crowded and very uncomfortable. The music seemed to be very loud and very disjointed. Not my definition of classical music. Very disappointed.
