  • Lacked Groove

    by Concert Goer on 6/5/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

Al is amazing and one of the best guitar players I have ever seen but the show had a bit too much "fast" picking and not enough groove. Sometimes less is more. On the other hand, if you are seeking a guitar "clinic" as opposed to a concert then this is the show for you.

  • Excellent

    by JT on 6/5/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Al a number of times, his Return To Forever Days are passed, his accustic talent is very good but he is no longer guitar god, he is a very good player. My issues are not with Al, the seats at the Rialito were poor. There were some who either were overserved or something else, got alittle overdone. Excellent show, would rather he played in Scottsdale, my home. Again excellent show, will see him again.

Absolutely one of the best concerts I have ever seen! Very intimate attentive audience. Fantastic musicians that we felt we're sharing a real experience with us.

  • Cabot theater show

by AL FAN BOB on 9/20/22The Cabot - BeverlyRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, not a bad seat in the house! We personally had great seats! I think Al is one of the most melodic lead guitarist around ! Al sounds great and he was that night.

  • Awesome show from an incredible talent

by Bill O’Neill on 9/16/22The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Venue was excellent. Great view of stage from anywhere, sound was clear. Had a great evening, looking forward to many more there.

  • Remains one of the premier talents of our generation

by JammerFam on 9/16/22The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Having seen Al Di Meola many times over the past 30 years, I never cease to amazed at each show. He is an amazing performer and no two tours are the same. This particular night was acoustic with a second guitarist, drummer, and tambla player. Each musician is world class and each contributed to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Al Di Meola is still among the finest guitarists ever to have played the instrument and he continues to explore and find new and interesting approaches to his music as well as in his interpretations of standards. He even paid beautiful respect to the Beatles with Norwegian Wood and Stawberry Fields (acoustically!). Incredible show, great stories, and very congenial. And aside from Al Di Meola's impressive musicianship, Amit Kavithar on tambla sent chills via his musicianship, never have I heard percussion played any better If you love jazz, progressive, and rock, see Al Di Meola.

Al is a great player and Berklee alumnus....nothing else to be said.

  • Al Di Meola

by Blackdog on 9/12/22Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - IndianapolisRating: 2 out of 5

Small venue, which is great, but I think most people know him from his electric jazz and work with Chick Corea and others. He played a bland, acoustic only set that missed most of his hits.

  • Astounding technique

First time at the Schroeder Center, and the first time ever seeing Al Di Meola live. Excellent venue, amazing musicians, a very enjoyable concert.

  • Great Show

    by B. K. on 9/11/22Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

He played for two hours with an intermission, it was all acoustical guitar with two percussionist. Played old and new music and told great stories, one was when he was at Berkeley school of music at 19 yrs old and got a phone call from Chic Correa asking him to play with him in the band "Return to Forever" at Madison Square Gardens! What a Great Show! Highly Recommend seeing him if you get a chance...

  • Best Living Guitarist

by ScaaHoley on 1/13/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Al is approachable, charming, a story teller and guitar master. He can ply Eric Clapton, but EC can not play his style and manner. Outstanding.

What a great venue. Intimate yet spacious. Really like the Haller Club concept. Nice to grab a bite and drink prior to the show. Loved coming here before but will come more often now. Like the lineup of upcoming artists too. Great to see them up close

  • Great Talent, Nice Crowd, and Wonderful Venue

by 1greg1 on 1/12/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I truly enjoyed the show with new and older music all intertwined with a compelling narrative about the composition of the music. The sheer magic that was conjured onstage with a guitar and 2 percussionists was spellbinding. Highly recommended.
