About

AGAINST THE CURRENT:

New York pop punk trio Against the Current is quickly rising the ranks with their fresh sound, heart-pounding live performances, and soaring anthems like "Gravity" and "Infinity". Frontwoman Chrissy Costanza cuts an impressive figure on stage, belting out the band's powerful tunes with passion and intensity without ever breaking her effortless cool. Her two bandmates -- Dan Gow on guitar and Will Ferri on drums -- give oomph to her already-punchy performances, making for an epic concert experience fans of melodic pop punk goodness don't want to miss.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Against the Current formed in New York in 2011 when young singer Chrissy Costanza joined forces with Dan Gow and Will Ferri. The group started writing songs and posting them to YouTube, and they got their first break in 2012 when their version of "Good Time" -- a cover of the Owl City and Carly Rae Jepson song  recorded with YouTube sensation Alex Goot -- started racking up plays. The band released a string of singles in the early '10s including originals like "Thinking" and popular covers of Taylor Swift's "Red" and "Shake It Off", and in 2014 they released their debut EP Infinity. The 5-song collection was a perfect snapshot of the band's unique sound, drawing praise from critics and building excitement among ticket buyers for Against the Current's next round on the road.

    ATC is amazing

by Melissameister on 11/24/15Brighton Music Hall - Boston

First and foremost I HATE Brighton Music Hall. It couldn't be worse. There is not a single good spot to stand, the stage is too low and the whole place gets overrun with Allston hipster that don't even know the bands, they're just bored and go there NEXT, I love Against The Current. It was the last date of tour so Chrissy had lost her voice a bit, but the show was still great. They have great stage presence and their songs sound better live than recorded. They're a really talented group of musicians and I can't wait to see what they grow to be.

ATC was an amazing concert. They had a really good choice for the 2 openers (Jule Vera and another band I don't know) and the set lists were amazing. Venue was pretty small but that was good for the acoustics of the concert. Overall, really recommend!

    ATC is the best!

    by RachelNW17 on 11/17/15Masquerade - Atlanta

Against the Current's show was AMAZING! I was so stoked to see them live since they are a favorite of mine, and I was pleasantly surprised at how great they were. Unfortunately the venue had some technical difficulties, but ATC played it off well and remained both professional and entertaining. I enjoyed the smaller crowd and venue, and my only complaint is how long and disorganized sound check and set up was in between bands. Other than that, everything was great. Ticket prices were great for both general admission and VIP. I wish we had gotten more time in VIP to chat with the band, but really the experience was great.

I wish they would come back soon and do it again! It was fantastic having them here. I really like how after the show, they did a meet and greet. My dream became a reality when I got to take pictures with them.
